Chapter 336
Bride of Mr.Billion
Bellaâs POV:
âMr. Wharton, I think youâve found the wrong person, right? The person youâre looking for is still at work!â
After that, I turned around and was about to leave.
Then there was a sound of the door opening behind me, and my wrist was grabbed by Herbert. I struggled instinctively. âWhat are you going to do? Let me go!â
âI have something to tell you!â Herbert took my hand and was about to leave.
I shook off his hand and snarled, âI have nothing to say to you!â âCan you talk to me calmly?â Herbert roared at me.
âHerbert, please donât bother me anymore, okay? Iâm really anxious now. Arenât you looking for Linda?
Go and find her. You can enjoy lunch together. You can even go to sleep together after lunch. Arenât you very close recently? You sent a bunch of delicate red roses to her every day with your name written on the card.â
âStop pestering me, okay?â I yelled at him. While I was very angry, he smiled. He said, âAre you jealous?â
I immediately denied. âNonsense! I wonât be jealous! Absolutely not!â
The more irritable I was, the happier he laughed.
In the end, he irritated me. I turned around and left. âYouâre being unreasonable!â However, he reached out to hold my arm and pulled it hard, and then I fell into his arms. âLet me go!â I immediately struggled, but he held me tightly in his arms, refusing to let go. Suddenly remembering his injured leg. I raised my chin and threatened him. âIf you donât let me go, Iâll kick your injured leg.â
âYou canât bear to kick me.â Herbertâs face was full of smiles, but his tone was full of confidence.
âWho says I donât dare?â I raised my chin and insisted on challenging him.
âYou just donât dare.â I looked up and saw his gentle eyes, and my heart couldnât help beating faster. I didnât do anything to him in the end. His leg was injured in order to save Betty. And if I kicked his leg again, it wouldnât do me any good. Now I didnât have the energy to take care of Lucas and Lucky. If I really went to jai, then they could only be handed over to Herbert. If his leg was lame, what about the children? I knew deep in my heart that I was just looking for an excuse. In fact, the most fundamental reason was that I couldnât bear it.
I didnât want him to be in pain.
I was pulled into the car by Herbert.
Connor then started the engine, and then the car was driven into the lane.
It was quiet in the car. I got rid of the hand that was held by him and rubbed my wrist with the other hand.
He was so strong that I could feel the pain in my wrist.
âAre you okay?â Herbert asked.
âIâm fine.â I shook my head and asked seriously, âWhat do you want from me?â
Hearing this, Herbert frowned and said, âTell me all the details of the budget case of the QT company you took over.â Seeing his serious eyes, I asked, âHow did you know that?â
âThe police have found you. Do you still want to hide it?â Herbert asked.
I lowered my head and said nothing.
Then he said seriously. âYou are the mother of my children. I canât let you go to jail!â
Hearing this, I looked up and saw Herbertâs earnest and determined eyes. Suddenly, my nose twitched, and tears began to well up in my eyes.
To be honest, no matter how strong I was, I was still a woman. The shock and grievance of the past two days had really crushed me, especially the six or seven hours of interrogation session in the police station, which really tortured peopleâs nerves and will.
The policeâs investigation and questions made me secretly swear that I really couldnât break the law.
Fortunately, I was released after six or seven hours. Otherwise, I would really go crazy.
Then, Herbert hooked his arm around my shoulder.
I was pulled into his arms.
His arms were very warm, and I suddenly felt that I was being protected.
I didnât cry when I was framed.
I didnât cry when I was ridiculed.
I didnât cry when I was examined by the police like a criminal.
But now, because of Herbertâs hug. I could no longer control my tears.
