54. Date night
Her healer
Meera was sitting on the swing on the balcony as Aashrit instructed her to be. She was wearing a black colored silk night suit with some white lining on the collar and sleeves, looking at the moon shining bright in the sky with Jugnu and Paulo sitting beside her.
Her mind went back to the past days when she used to sit alone in her room with Jugnu at her side, looking at the moon and praying to God for a beautiful life. And now when she looks around her, she only finds good things and nothing bad around her. She smiled thinking about her husband who was everything she could ask for. He was caring, loving, sexy, handsome, and a fan of hers. She smiled thinking about the random kisses he gave her and his talks which made her blush every second.
Her attention shifted when she saw a tray being placed in front of her. She looked up only to see her husband. She was shocked to see him wearing the same night suit as hers.
"Was it planned?" She asked.
"Was it?" He questioned back with raised brows.
Meera giggled at his expression and lightly pecked him on his lips as he settled beside her.
"I like it." She said hugging him sideways keeping her head on his bicep.
"I made hot chocolate for you." He said making Meera shocked and she looked at him with wide eyes.
"You don't know cooking." She told him making him chuckle at her.
"But I can always learn. And for now, I learned hot chocolate." He said kissing her cheeks. "next time let me know if you want to eat something, I'll learn that." He said caressing her cheeks.
Meera giggled at his words. She was happy, so happy, after a long time and her giggles were not in control. She was high with the happiness around her which was making her giggle at little things.
"You are cute." She said pulling his cheeks and making Aashrit chuckle with her.
"So how was your day bulbul." He said taking a sip of hot chocolate.
And Meera's face flattened on remembering Ravi's incident. But soon replaced by a smile on remembering Kavya's new avatar and Adwait's crush.
She put her cup on the table and turned completely towards him with her folded legs "Would you keep 2 secrets if I tell you?" She asked with her eyes twinkling. She finally had someone with whom she could share secrets.
Aashrit nodded at her and Meera smiled wide.
"Kavya has a crush on Avay."
"Kavya....... Your friend?" He asked
"My only friend." She corrected him.
"Okk...... So that's great I guess." He said listening to her.
Meera looked at him and gave him a smirk "I have a bigger piece of news than this."
Aashrit looked at her smirk and bit his lower lip to control the chuckle. She was looking too cute with that smirk.
"And what's that?" He whispered.
Meera leaned a little and asked him to come near with her hand. Aashrit leaned to her and their face were too close and excitement could be seen on their face. They both couldn't believe they had this childishness in them.
"Adwait has a crush on someone in our department."
Aashrit's eyes went wide on hearing this news "You're lying." He said not believing her words and Paulo and Jugnu also barked not believing her words.
She shooed all 3 of them with her hand and continued "It's true. He agreed to it." She said leaning back " But that girl is already taken, according to him." She said taking a sip of her hot chocolate.
"Aww, my boy. He must be heartbroken. I need to talk to him." He said but Meera stopped him an instant.
"It's a secret Aashrit ji." She said reminding Aashrit of his mistake.
"Oops sorry." He apologized.
And they both sat there talking about their life, other's life, their dream, their expectations, and everything. As the night was getting darker, their knowledge about each other was getting deeper. This talking session was like therapy for both of them. They both were living a moment they never expected of.
Paulo and Jugnu were already asleep, and Aashrit and Meera settled them in their crib.
Aashrit was now sitting on the swing while Meera was lying over him, both of them still talking. Aashrit was caressing her head thinking how much she had to say, only if someone had ever listened to her. He looked at her with nothing but pure admiration.
"Aashrit ji." She called him.
"Hmm," He replied.
"Am I talking too much?" She asked.
"No. You could never." He assured her.
Meera went silent for some seconds and then spoke "Ham aapse kuch puch skte hain?" She said (Can I ask you something?)
"Aapko hamse izazat lene ki jarurat nhi." He told her. (You don't need permission.)
Meera stood up and sat on the swing. She turned her head to look at him only to find him looking back at her.
"Aap naraz toh nhi honge? Agar aapko acha na lage toh aap hame mana kar skate hain, ham bilkul bhi bura nhi manenge." She said (You won't be angry? If you don't want to answer, you can just deny. I won't mind.)
"Ab puch bhi lijiye bulbul. Varna hme chinta ho jayegi ab." (Just ask me bulbul or else I'll be worried for real.)
Meera took a deep breath "Maa told me that you were a happy child till you were eight. But suddenly one day, your whole personality changed. Why?" She asked with her heart hammering.
She didn't want him to get angry. Everything was going smoothly and she didn't want to ruin it but she also wanted to know him more. And her curiosity took the best of her. But his response was expected.
He held her hand and looked at her with a small smile "I was a happy soul. A child who was naughty and threw tantrums at everything." He started and Meera looked at him curiously "One day I asked Dad to take me to his office. Although he denied too much but I was a stubborn kid and he had to agree." His facial expression changed with his every word. "And that was when I changed completely." He said and took a deep breath before continuing " Some people visited Dad at his office and Dad asked me to grab some chocolates while he talked with those people. I ran out of the office but the curious child in me hid behind the door to know what elder people talk about." He said and stopped for a moment to take a breath.
"And that was the time I saw my strong superhero dad on his knees. Those people were the highest royals of Madhya Pradesh. They came there to tell Dad to betrothed Revati to Abhimaan Singh Chauhan. He didn't agree to it but being the weakest in royals didn't give him enough rights. Yaduvanshi and Chauhan had centuries-old rivalry which they wanted to finish by a marriage bond. And the clever people of both the clans chose the weakest royals as their scapegoat and my father didn't have any choice. Either he could betrothed Revati or else his royal rights would be snatched and all his property would be confiscated by higher royals which would bring us to roads. Seeing my father on his knees and my sister being used as a scapegoat burnt a fire in me to become richer, stronger than every single human present in that room that day, and save my sister from this unwanted alliance." He said and his breath raged in anger.
"So why are they still engaged?" Meera asked confused considering her husband's power, he would have easily gotten rid of this alliance.
"They both fell in love when Revati was on a trip to Rajasthan." He said shrugging his shoulders.
"And those people present in the office that day," Meera asked curious to know about their fate.
Aashrit looked at her and leaned towards her "I made them bow down in front of my father every time he passed by them. I made my father the highest royal up and then his subordinates. Those are the same people who ask for funds to run their kingdom from my trust." He said and leaned more to her as Meera's eyes went wide in curiosity " And I made a rule in my trust for those royals. If they want a fund, they need to keep their eyes on the ground, hands tied like a servant before getting permission from my father. I also made sure that my father's office has only one chair when those royals visit so that either they keep on standing in front of him or if they want to sit, they sit on the ground." He said with a smirk which was reciprocated by Meera.
"You are a devil." She said with a small smirk.
"And you changed this devil into a love-sick puppy." He replied instantly.
Meera wasn't scared of him but she was proud. She was enraged at the thought of her dad on his knees in front of someone, and her sweet sister-in-law being sold just because of their weak status. She loved how her husband revenged them. That's why he is her favorite.
"And I like this new avatar of yours." She said as she leaned forward and they both kissed each other under the moonlight.
