42. Love in the air 💞

Meera changed into a pink colored suit and leggings with anklets and jhumka she bought today. She came outside and saw Aashrit was nowhere in the room and knew where he must be. She decided to thank him for his time today.

She ran to the kitchen and made coffee for him. She took some biscuits put them in a tray with two cups of coffee and went to his office room.

On reaching there, she lightly knocked on the door and heard a come-in. As she entered inside, she saw Aashrit typing something on his laptop without even looking up.

As she took a step inside, her anklets made noise making Aashrit look up. He stood up to see her and looked at the beauty in front of him. He walked to her slowly as she put the tray on the table and turned back to look at him.

"Did I disturb you?" She asked turning back and startled to see him just behind her. She almost lost her balance and was about to fall when Aashrit held her hand and pulled her in for a hug. His hand held her waist and he put his chin on her shoulder as her hand rested on his back.

" How can you look so beautiful every other second, bulbul" He asked.

Meera didn't know what to say to him. She was suddenly speechless and covered her eyes on hearing him. His words always made her shy. He always made her feel beautiful. She didn't know what to say and hid her face in his chest.

Aashrit leaned back from the hug and made her look up at him. She averted her eyes from him not able to handle his gaze.

Aashrit smiled at her and pulled her close and their body almost touched. His nose touched hers and Meera took a deep breath.

"Thank you for marrying me, Bulbul." He said and lightly kissed her on her nose.

Meera's breath raged and so did Aashrit's and they both held onto each other tightly. His lips went down from her nose to her cheeks .

" Aa...Aashrit ji." She called out not able to handle the closeness.

"Hmm," He said resting his lips near her lips.

"Coffee is getting cold." She croaked out and he looked at her eyes with long dark lashes looking down.

He smirked at his effect on hers and lightly kissed her at the corner of her lips " Then let's have coffee." He whispered near her lips making her suck a deep breath.

As they both moved towards the couch Meera's payal opened amd fell. She crouched down to take her payal but Aashrit already took the payal in his hand.

"Sit here." He told her examining the payal.

Meera looked at him confused but still sat on the couch.

Aashrit crouched down in front of her on one knee and put her feet on his knee.

"Aashr...."

"Shhhh baby. Please don't start with husband don't touch feet." Aashrit said making faces and Meera bit down her tongue.

After making her wear payal, he leaned down and kissed her feet.

Meera got startled and pulled her feet back but his grip was already strong. Aashrit looked up at her and smiled "Since you stepped in my life, everything became colorful." He smiled and Meera's heart skipped many beats.

She gave her hand to him and Aashrit got confused but still hold hers. Meera made him stand up and then patted beside her. Aashrit followed his wife's unsaid orders and sat down.

They both settled on the couch while Aashrit looked at Meera who was still blushing. Meera took a coffee cup and forwarded it to him without even looking there. He smirked and took the coffee cup lightly brushing her hand as her bangles tinkled.

She took her coffee cup and put her lips over it to stop herself from blushing. They both went silent as Aashrit was looking at her while she was looking at her coffee to control her heart. After calming down and preparing a speech in her head she spoke

"Thank you for today." She finally said making Aashrit chuckle at her.

"You look cute while blushing." He said taking her hand in his and kissing her back.

Meera shut her eyes in shyness not knowing what to say and put her head down looking at the other side, hiding from him. Aashrit smiled looking at her blushing state and took the coffee from her hand and put it on the table.

Meera looked at him confused and he held her making her sit in his lap and heat crept on her cheeks and neck. He looked into her eyes and she averted them but he didn't stop looking at her face. She felt shy seeing his gaze on her and looked here and there to stop his gaze but he was continuously looking at her.

Meera put her hand on his eyes "Don't look at me. I am shy." She said finally making him smirk at her.

He removed her hand from his eyes and kissed her palm.

"As much as I want to defy you right now, I know you don't like your coffee cold." He said kissing her cheeks.

Meera tried to get off his lap but he held her tight "I didn't give you permission for that bulbul. You need to sit here and spend the whole evening with me."

And that's how they spent their whole evening in each other's embrace.

Meera felt loved in his arms. She felt protected and she felt beautiful. While he felt calm.

NEXT DAY

Meera was getting bored in her room when she got a message from Shivansh.

"Come to the movie room bhabhi."

A smile formed on Meera's face and she quickly got up from bed and sprinted to the movie room in excitement.

Soon, she reached the movie room and found Abhishek. Revati and Shivansh already settled and she also went to sit on the last seat.

"What movie are we watching" Meera asked Shivansh who was just beside her.

"It's a newly released movie. It's horror." Shivansh said as the movie started.

Meera's eyes went wide on hearing horror.

She loves horror movies, she finds them thrilling and quite interesting but what's worst is she can't sleep 2 nights if she watches them. And neither could she tell them with the fear of them laughing at her. She sat straight in her seat.

The movie started taking Meera's attention. As the movie was proceeding so was the thrill of Meera. Although she was scared what happened next kept them going and without even realizing they reached the end of the movie.

AT NIGHT

Meera and Aashrit were sleeping soundly in their room. There was darkness all around except for the moonlight coming from the moon. The air was flowing with which curtains were moving making a low shrr sound and cricket chirping outside.

Meera was sleeping peacefully when her eyes opened suddenly. Although her sleep was broken she didn't open her eyes out of fear and turned into her sleep trying her best to sleep again. Then she felt a sharp gush of wind, which forced open her eyes. As she opened her eyes, she looked at the balcony and found the door opened fully maybe due to the wind. Her heartbeat was rising and she kept looking there when she noticed a shadow moving. Her eyes went wide and she turned her back to the balcony and faced Aashrit who was sleeping peacefully.

"How can he sleep so peacefully when I am dying here.??" She thought of waking him up but she was unsure of disturbing his sleep.

As she was facing Aashrit, she felt wind passing through her ear and she remembered a scene from the movie where the ghost was standing behind the female lead when she was sleeping and she turned swiftly and found nothing.

Her breathing was racing with every passing moment. She heard a tick-tick sound in the silence of night and looked at the clock showing 2'o clock. She lay straight on the bed looking at the wall but was suddenly reminded of the scene where the ghost was walking over the wall, she shut her eyes quickly but regretted it the instant she saw the sight of the ghost from the movie.

She opened her eyes and looked at Aashrit. She didn't want to wake him up but she was so scared to sleep. She quickly turned on her bedside light but nothing was working.

She again looked at Aashrit and held his hand and shut her eyes tightly to sleep anyhow. But all her efforts went in vain when she heard a noise and suddenly looked back and saw a shadow moving on the balcony and a shriek was about to leave her mouth but she put one hand on her mouth and with the other hand her hold on his hand went tight unknowingly.

"Meera" A voice called scaring her.
