She was feeling alone in the party filled with so many people. She was angry but couldn't show it, her heart was scared but she was afraid to show it. She has no rights over him then how can she stop him from looking at other girls or talking to them? But her heart was burning with insecurities. Her mind was going wild.

She is so pretty with these beautiful plump lips and perfect teeth which made her smile better and a perfect facial structure while I look like a mess always. She even talks so much, he might be liking her company. But it's not his fault. It's me who is boring, who isn't interesting enough to keep people with herself.

She didn't realize when a drop of tear fell from her eye and landed on her hand. She looked at her hands and felt them shivering. Her heart was clogged with all the thoughts she was having. Her shivered hand went to her eye and wiped the tears swiftly not letting anyone present there know about what just happened. She was feeling so uncomfortable in the presence of so many people.

She leaned towards Aashrit "I'll be going to the washroom." She said standing up while Aashrit pointed two of his guards to follow her. And they left.

As she entered the washroom, she put her hand over her racing heart and rubbed it to calm it down. Her breathing was fastened making it hard for her to breathe. She went towards the washbasin and threw some water at her face to calm but nothing was working. She looked at the mirror to only see her imperfections. She touched her small eyes, big lips, and those acne scars which didn't seem to fade away, making her insecure about herself and think about everyone who is so perfect. Her thoughts halted as the washroom door was opened and in entered Gunjan. Meera composed herself and smiled at her not letting her get any idea about her condition.

"Aashrit is unbelievable. Telling me how interesting my company is" she said while Meera just smiled at her.

"He is right. You make everyone so comfortable" She said with her upper heart.

She couldn't hate her but liking her was far away.

"I'll go. Aashrit ji must be looking for me" Meera said without thinking

"Oh don't worry about him. He is not missing you. He is so busy listening to everyone that he doesn't even remember that you weren't there. He is quite stupid in girls matter". She said laughing not realizing how she broke her little hope.

"You know he had a huge crush on me in our college time but I was so loyal to my boyfriend that I ignored The Aashrit. He even once said, "Gunjan is the most beautiful girl he had ever seen." She said laughing out loud while Meera didn't find the conversation even a bit interesting.

"I mean every boy in the group had a crush on me." She said while Meera rolled her eyes while doing her touch-up.

"um sorry to interrupt you but I guess everyone would be missing you out there," Meera said to Gunjan with a smile while the latter one just made a face of realization.

"Oh yeah!!!! I will be coming" she said going to stall while Meera heaved a sigh of relief.

Meera went back to the place where everyone was and noticed Aashrit looking at her. She went and sat beside Aashrit feeling like an outcast and soon Gunjan also joined them.

As she sat there, Aashrit took her hand in his and again started playing with her rings while slightly rubbing her palm.

While only one thought was roaming in her mind " Aashrit ji !! Please don't come so close only to show people. I might fall for you."

"so Meera." One of his friends said paying attention to Meera who now noticed that everyone was looking at her and felt conscious with so much attention but just smiled. " Last time we met, Shivansh was here and he didn't seem to stop talking about how tasty food you cook," His friend said making Meera smile a little.

"Please invite us for dinner someday," his other friend said with a sulking face making Meera chuckle and she said, "Sure whenever you are free".

Before anyone could speak further, Gunjan interrupted. "Really Meera!!!! Even I make really good food. My boyfriend just can't seem to stop praising me. And also in college time, these people would just grab my lunch box and didn't use to leave anything for me"

And just like that once again all the attention shifted from Meera to Gunjan making her happy face go sad in a moment.

That's fine Meera. People are not patient anymore. They don't want to wait for you to open up instead they would prefer the company of talker. And why are you feeling so bad, it isn't the first time someone talked over you. Is it because of Aashrit? Is it because Aashrit is not noticing you and the change in your mood? But why does it matter?? He already told you before marriage that he is not going to be interested in you why are you hurting yourself? But is it my fault that I started feeling for him the moment I saw him? Is it my fault that I can't seem to dislike him?

Her chain of thoughts broke when Kirti spoke "Don't take her words to your heart Meera." She said and Meera looked at her confused.

Kirti continued "She loves the attention. And when she doesn't get that, she snatches it from others." She said giving her a cold drink which she took happily "I saw her following you to the washroom. Don't focus on the words she said about Aashrit to you in the washroom but focus on Aashrit's action. His action might differ from her words." Kirti said with a smile and suddenly the situation seemed to change to Meera.

She looked towards Aashrit who was surfing through his phone while his one hand was still holding hers. Her hand was on his thigh while his hand was engulfing hers and lightly tapping on his thighs. And she noticed it was only her who was talking about Aashrit, not the other way around. Aashrit didn't even talk to her this whole evening. His only focus was on hers.

Meera turned towards Kirti and thanked her. Although she has seen Aashrit being not interested in her but still her heart was still not calmed. She wanted Aashrit to stop her blabbering like how he did with that girl Kanika some moments ago, she wanted him to ensure her that there was nothing like she was saying. But she knew it was not needed, he didn't feel for her so he might not feel the importance of defending himself. She took a deep breath looked at their hands and held his hand tightly unknowingly.

"Are you fine?" He asked once she tightened her hold on him.

Meera looked up at him and got confused about what to say and words left her mouth "I am tired."

She looked at Aashrit standing up with her hand in his and walking towards Ranvijay. Meera looked back at Kirti and waved a bye at her who happily waved.

"We'll be leaving now," Aashrit said to Ranvijay who made a sulking face but then nodded at Aashrit. He waved Meera bye and they left.

Meera was on her bed reading a new novel when she saw Aashrit coming out of the wardrobe all ready to sleep. She took a sneaky look at him and when she noticed him looking at her, she averted her eyes and focused on her book again. She wanted to look at him back but she was afraid "What if he is also looking and our eyes meet? What would he think?" She thought and controlled her eyes from moving to him until he spoke.

"You don't speak a lot," Aashrit said making her look up at him who was coming towards bed with some files in his hand.

"It isn't like that," She said in her usual low voice which almost went unheard of if Aashrit wasn't already near the bed.

"But you didn't speak more than 2-3 sentences today evening," He said opening his files while also eager to hear her answer.

"I only talk if someone is interested in listening" These words slipped out of her tongue unknowingly and she regretted immediately "I mean I don't talk much when I meet new people," She said covering up her blunder.

But her first sentence didn't go unnoticed by Aashrit who was now more intrigued by her, more interested in knowing her, more interested in making her talk.
