Chapter 573 - Separating Us
Hidden Marriage 99 Days: Please Restrain Yourself
Immediately, Li Beinian understood what he meant.
She subconsciously looked up at Mu Xichen and chuckled.
That explained Mu Xichenâs strange expression.
Feigning ignorance, the girl asked, âSo?â
How could Li Haoran not know that Li Beinian was pretending? He continued, âDonglin is true to you. In what ways is the Mu Family not worthy of you?â
âGiven the Mu Familyâs background, what exactly isnât good enough for you?â Li Beinian smiled, but it was hard to miss the hint of iciness in her voice. âSince you like to be associated with Mu Donglin so much, why donât you undergo a gender change so that you can marry him?â
Li Haoran shook with anger and hollered. âYou little bastard! Iâm your father, how dare you speak to me like that!â
âYou do realize youâre my father?â Li Beinian sneered. âNo apologies, Iâve always been like this. If you donât like to hear these things, donât call me. This way, you donât disgust others and yourself.â
Li Haoran was about to speak again, however Li Beinian refused to entertain him further. âIâm watching TV. Got to go.â
Having said that, she hung up.
Looking up at Mu Xichen again, she noticed that his gaze was even more unfathomable now.
She was annoyed and nudged him, âWhatâs that expression?â
Mu Xichen sat her up and held her firmly in his arms.
The two of them were already in an intimate position, and now that they were in a different position, it was even more intimate.
Li Beinian could feel the warmth of his body through the thin fabric of her garment as she pressed up against him.
She could even feel his heartbeat.
Her heart skipped a beat as she leaned back, her nose touching his chin.
âHe might have something else to tell you.â Mu Xichenâs voice was faint and there was a slight reverberation in his chest when he spoke.
Li Beinian snorted. âItâs nothing good anyway.â
Just as she said this, her cell phone rang again.
Li Beinian glanced at it. Indeed, it was Li Haoran calling a second time.
Just as she was about to disconnect the call, a hand stopped her.
Appearing rather interested, Mu Xichen said, âTake it.â
Li Beinian eyed him suspiciously and asked, âWhat are you up to?â
The man did not answer, but swiped his finger across the screen to connect the call.
Li Beinian had no choice but to turn on the speaker. âWhat now?â
âNian Nian!â Li Haoran exclaimed again. âLike it or not, Iâm your father. You canât sever the blood ties between father and daughter. Blood is thicker than water, Nian Nian, I wonât do anything to harm you.â
âHaha.â
Li Beinian was most tempted to be sarcastic and tell him how awesome he was.
He kept saying that it was for her own good, but the fact of the matter was, he just couldnât bear to let go of the association with the Mu Corporation.
The only response that he got from Li Beinian was a sneer. The conversation became uncomfortable.
Li Haoranâs expression grew sullen and he said, âDonât think I donât know what youâre relying on. That lousy Sheng An Corporation would have closed down long ago, if Mu Donglin had made a move.â
He didnât say it explicitly, but it was undoubtedly a warning and condemnation, based on the rumors that she was the kept mistress of the CEO of Sheng An.
Deep down, he actually believed those rumors.
Li Beinian felt an inexplicable ache in her heart.
Although she claimed that she had little to do with Li Haoran, ultimately, he was her father.
Besides Old Master Li, he was her closest blood relation.
But now, what had become of his opinion of her?
At these words, Mu Xichen felt his heart turn cold too, as he held her in his arms.
Especially when he saw the disappointment in her eyes, his impression of this father-in-law couldnât get any worse.
He silently caressed Li Beinianâs hand. She smiled faintly and said to the person at the other end of the line, âSo I owe you my gratitude?â
âOwe me? You should owe Donglin!â Li Haoran was furious. âNow that Donglin is getting engaged to that girl from the Lin family. To be fair, he has always treated you well and has never forgotten you. Choosing Donglin would surely be a much better bargain than if you choose that man from Sheng An.â
Li Haoran did not give Li Beinian a chance to interject at all. He continued, âNian Nian, youâre already 20 years old. You should learn to be more sensible. Donglin is a winner in every way. If you turn back now, itâs not too late. However, if Donglin gets married to that woman from the Lin Family, itâll be too late.â
âIâve already said it, you have to weigh the pros and cons yourself!â Li Haoran insisted forcefully.
Li Beinian sneered. âThank you for your trouble then.â
Li Haoran felt a headache coming on. He sighed and said, âDad is doing this for your own good. Why donât you understand!â
âAre you done?â Li Beinian didnât wish to continue. âIf youâre done, Iâm hanging up.â
Li Haoran did not expect Li Beinian to be so resolute. He sighed and said, âIf you donât have any jobs lined up these few days, you should come back. Coincidentally, your grandpa is here too. Letâs have a good meal together, alright?â
As he said those last words, his voice had softened significantly.
After a pause, he added, âThis is also what your grandpa wishes.â
Li Beinian twitched her lips and hung up without another word.
After hanging up, she felt a little gloomy and lost the desire to continue watching the movie.
Mu Xichen tossed the cell phone aside.
Laughing, Li Beinian said, âHis love for Mu Donglin is true.â
Feeling rather jealous among a complexity of other emotions, he asked, âWill you change your mind?â
âA good horse doesnât turn back to graze an old pasture.â Li Beinian snuggled up against his chest and mumbled. âBesides, that pasture has been trampled on by others. I despise it.â
Mu Xichen snorted. âSo what if it had been trampled on?â
Li Beinian looked up and studied his smooth jawline. âHave you forgotten that I was the one who set it up to be trampled on? What are you jealous over?â
Mu Xichen glanced at her. âWould I be jealous?â
âUh huh!â Li Beinian nodded seriously.
Not only would he be jealous, he was quite often jealous.
Mu Xichen did not say anything. He turned her face around and kissed her.
Immediately, his body told her if he was indeed jealous.
Conscious that they were in the living room, she couldnât get over her shyness. She gave him a nudge and urged him, âLetâs go back to our room!â
âWeâre at home, whatâs there to be afraid of?â Mu Xichen grabbed her pants and hugged her from behind. He whispered in her ear, âThe door is locked. No one can get in except us.â
Even so, Li Beinian still felt extremely awkward.
The living room was too spacious and the surroundings seemed too empty.
If they were to frolic on the sofa, there would be echoes.
As she refused to have her clothes removed, Mu Xichen had no choice but to give in.
As a result, while their tops were neat and intact, their lower bodies were like bursting dams.
However, halfway through, the cell phone on the other end of the sofa rang.
Li Beinian heard it ringing and gave him a tap. âThe cell phone...â
Mu Xichen refused to let her go. Instead, it seemed only to spur him on. He entered her aggressively.
Li Beinian was caught off guard and called out loudly, but very quickly, she held back.
He inserted his finger in her mouth and took her earlobe between his lips. Breathing heavily, he commanded her, âScream.â
Li Beinian turned away shyly and bit down on his finger.
As though he didnât feel any pain, the man inserted another finger into her mouth. Sucking on her earlobe, he said in a muffled voice, sending puffs of hot and wet breaths into her ear, âScream.â
At the same time, he went in forcefully and deeply, causing Li Beinian to moan and tear up.
The cell phone continued ringing. It rang out once, twice, and finally, Mu Xichen was at his witâs end because of Li Beinianâs urging. He paused and walked over to take a look at the incoming call screen.
The word âgrandpaâ caused the both of them to tense up.
When it rang again, Mu Xichen turned off the cell phone and tossed it aside. Then he turned around and pinned her down on the coffee table, satisfying his voracious appetite.
Would she have been able to continue after she had taken this call?
What a joke!
Hence, the battle continued for another ten minutes before coming to an end.
Once Li Beinian had managed to calm herself down somewhat, she picked up the cell phone and dialed her grandfatherâs number.
Old Master Li picked it up very quickly. Li Beinian cleared her throat and greeted him. âGrandpa.â
Old Master Li snorted. âWhat were you doing? You didnât answer my calls.â
âI was busy.â Li Beinian blushed as she reached out to gather her clothes. Deliberately changing the topic, she asked the old man, âWhy arenât you asleep yet?â
âSleep? What time do you call this?â Old Master Li snorted.
Li Beinian looked at the time. Indeed, it was not even 9 pm.
The Beast behind her took her into his arms again. Li Beinian reacted quickly and reached out to shove him off.
However, worried that her grandfather would discover that they were together, she did not dare to make a noise.
As a result, The Beast pulled her onto his lap and after a moment started to grope restlessly again.
âI thought it was late. I was busy and lost track of time.â Li Beinian gave the man a look and shoved him off again. âGrandpa, if thereâs nothing else, Iâll call you back later.â
âAre you with him?â Old Master Li snorted. âDonât think Iâm not aware that you donât have much work recently!â
Li Beinian froze for a moment. Mu Xichen held her firmly in his arms and sandwiched her thighs firmly between his own, as though worried that she might run away.
She immediately retorted. âWho said that? Ptui, what a lie!â
âYour father said it!â Old Master Li demanded, âCome home tomorrow. Your fatherâs birthday is around the corner. Weâll have a meal together.â
On hearing about Li Haoran, Li Beinian lost interest and said, âHe only just called me, asking me to go back to Mu Donglin.â
Old Master Liâs emotions were rather complex. He said, âYour father doesnât know about your relationship with Xichen. He wants you to choose Donglin for your own good. After all, the Mu Corporation alone has a reputation to be reckoned with.â
He said this even though knowing what Li Haoran was up to.
However, one had to admit that if Mu Xichen werenât in the picture, it would have been a wise decision to choose Mu Donglin.
Alas, she was now with Mu Xichen.
In terms of character and temperament, Mu Xichen didnât fare too badly.
It was just that Li Beinian didnât want to say it aloud, young girls were fascinated by him.
Even Grandpa himself was satisfied with the man.
Besides, compared to Mu Donglin, Mu Xichen was more concerned and attentive towards Li Beinian, his feelings for her were more sincere. This was a fact.
âIf your father had known that youâre with Xichen, heâd definitely be supportive.â
Li Beinian laughed upon hearing these words and said, âGrandpa, you donât understand your son at all.â
Or should she say, he didnât understand Fang Zhili and Li Xueqing at all.
Supportive?
No way!
Li Beinian knew very well that Li Xueqing liked Mu Xichen.
If they were to find out, the situation would turn troublesome.
Old Master Li did not deny it. He continued, âIn any case, come back to Qian Zhou tomorrow. Hmph, youâve grown too bold, lying to your Grandpa. From now on, send me a copy of your work schedule!â
Li Beinian blinked.
She turned around and noticed that Mu Xichenâs expression had darkened.
Mu Xichen spoke, âGrandpa.â
When Old Master Li heard Mu Xichenâs voice, he said with an air of knowing, âIndeed, youâre together. All of you treat me like Iâm old and confused.â
Li Beinian immediately felt guilt-stricken.
Mu Xichen said calmly, âOthers may not know, but you know that weâre married. Thereâs no reason for us to keep living separately.â
âWhen did you get married?â Old Master Li feigned ignorance. âFirstly, there were no formalities. Secondly, you got married in secret. If my granddaughter were to live with you, how would that come across?â
âGrandpa, you were the one who sold me out at that time. Why are you going back on your word now?â Li Beinian said. âWhatâs done is done. As a couple now, we have to cultivate our relationship.â
âHmph!â Old Master Li voiced his displeasure. âYou have no shame, talking about cultivating a coupleâs relationship. We can talk about a coupleâs relationship when all the formalities are in place.â
Mu Xichen tried to get a word in, âGrandpa...â
âSay no more. I donât wish to hear what you have to say.â Old Master Li interrupted him. âNian Nian, remember to come home tomorrow. Xichen, on the other hand, wonât be needed. Youâre not our official son-in-law yet. You can come when your relationship is official. Nian Nian, remember. Tomorrow.â
Having said those words, Old Master Li hung up.
Mu Xichenâs face was as dark as stormy skies, at the same time it was icy. Obviously he wasnât someone to be trifled with.
Li Beinian couldnât help laughing aloud. She reminded him, âGrandpa said you have no official status.â
Mu Xichenâs face darkened further as she gloated. He grabbed her and pushed her onto the sofa. âYouâre that happy huh?â
His voice was deep and sinister.
Li Beinian immediately kept quiet and shook her head honestly. Then, she said with an angry expression, âGrandpa is too much, separating us and not giving us the opportunity to cultivate our relationship!â
Even as she said those words, she couldnât hide the twinkle in her eyes.
Mu Xichen replied in a hoarse and dangerous voice, âYouâre asking to be punished.â
Heâd already moved in on her, even as he was speaking.
Li Beinian didnât have time to react. Before she knew it, another storm had swept in.
