Chapter 505
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 505:
Madisyn took a few bites, savoring the delicious flavors, yet her thoughts lingered on Howard and Nalani. Despite Howardâs insistence that they were merely friends, Madisyn couldnât help but feel concerned but chose not to probe further.
Suddenly, her eyes caught a familiar silhouette in the tree outside the floor-to-ceiling window. Drawn by curiosity, she approached the window, only to find nothing there.
Noticing her movement, Howard inquired, âWhatâs wrong, Madisyn?â
She shook her head. âNothing. Perhaps I was just mistaken.â
Observing the tree, Howard appeared distant and thoughtful. Curiosity piqued, Madisyn asked softly, âHoward, whatâs bothering you?â
âSometimes, I think I see someone in that tree, but it must be my imagination,â Howard replied, his tone tinged with bitterness. Then he lowered his head. His words inadvertently confirmed Madisynâs suspicion that Milly often appeared in that very tree. How was Milly doing now?
The afternoon passed with Madisyn staying by Howardâs side. At some point, Nalani returned with a tray of snacks, her demeanor shy.

âMadisyn, and this handsome gentleman, please enjoy these. Our company offers plenty of snacks, and if you find yourselves bored, the 8th floor has video games.â
âThank you. You can go about your business,â Madisyn responded politely, noting Howardâs nonchalant acceptance of Nalaniâs presence.
Had Howard been moved by Nalaniâs efforts?
That evening, the three siblings shopped for dinner ingredients and enjoyed a meal together with their parents, relishing the warm and inviting atmosphere. Madisyn captured the moment with a photo and sent it to Andrew.
âLooks great,â Andrew texted back.
âAre you done with work? Join us for dinner,â Madisyn invited.
âI might be back late. You should eat without me,â Andrew replied, setting his phone aside. He had the time to return immediately but chose not to disrupt the rare family gathering, not wanting to impose as an outsider.
After completing his work late into the night, Andrew gathered his belongings, slipping into his suit jacket, ready to go. Just then, the office door swung open.
Startled, Andrew wondered if it was his assistant who hadnât gotten off work yet. However, a graceful woman entered, carrying a box. She was strikingly beautiful and greeted him warmly. Joy lit up Andrewâs eyes at her arrival.
âThe chill of the night seemed to dissolve instantly. âWhy are you here? Werenât you having dinner with your family?â
âIâve finished dinner. Youâre working late, so I brought you dinner,â Madisyn said, sitting at the table and unpacking a hearty meal from the box.
âThank you, sweetheart,â Andrew said, encircling Madisyn with his strong arms from behind, his breath warm against her ear.
A blush crept across Madisynâs cheeks as she urged him, âHurry up. Did you manage to eat tonight?â
âI was too caught up with work. Itâs great you brought food,â Andrew admitted.
Madisynâs expression clouded with concern. âDidnât I tell you to take better care of yourself? If you keep skipping meals, Iâll be really upset!â
âGot it, sweetheart,â Andrew replied, looking sheepish. He pulled her close on the sofa, promising, âIâll make sure to eat properly from now on.â
After Andrew finished his meal, they left together. Madisyn climbed into Andrewâs Porsche, with him at the wheel. Suddenly, several sports cars whizzed by, blatantly running red lights and nearly colliding with their car.
âThese people are reckless! They should keep their racing to designated tracks,â Madisyn remarked, watching the sports cars vanish into the night, her annoyance palpable.
âTheyâre chasing thrills by racing on city roads at night, completely disregarding the safety of others,â Andrew responded indifferently. âSweetheart, if you ever encounter them, make sure to keep your distance.â
Madisyn couldnât help but think to herself that if she ever met these people, she would definitely give them a piece of her mind. Nevertheless, she obediently replied, âYes, I wonât do anything dangerous.â
They returned to their respective villas. While applying a facial mask by the window, Madisynâs attention was suddenly caught by a familiar figure stealthily exiting her parentsâ villa.
Wasnât that Waylon? What was he doing out so late at night?
Waylon walked to the parking lot and was about to start his car when he was startled by a figure in front of the vehicle, nearly causing him to slam on the gas in fright. âMadisyn, why are you here?â he exclaimed as he got out of the car.
âWaylon, itâs so late. Where are you going?â Madisyn asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.
âIâm off to grab a meal with some friends. You should head back and rest,â Waylon replied, awkwardly scratching his head.
Madisyn was speechless. How did Waylon manage to win the Best Actor award? He was a liar.
Under her scrutinizing gaze, Waylon squirmed, guilt washing over him. âMadisyn, I really have to go. You should head back inside!â
âTell me whatâs really going on,â she demanded.
Waylon hesitated, his discomfort palpable. After a pause, he suddenly ran over and clung to Madisynâs leg, pleading, âMadisyn, Iâll tell you everything, but you mustnât tell Mom and Dadâand please, donât tell our brothers!â
Speechless once more, Madisyn couldnât help but think that Waylon really had no backbone!
âWhat exactly are you planning to do?â she asked.
âActually, Iâm going⦠I am going to race with some people.â
