Chapter 497

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 497:

Betsey grabbed a glass of champagne and began to sip it slowly. She wondered when her benefactor would finally make an appearance. Casting a quick glance around, she slipped into the crowd to mingle with others.

Most of the guests tonight had a solid connection with the Johns family, and they were more than friendly toward each other. They greeted Betsey with warmth and enthusiasm.

“You must be Maxine! I have to say—I really like you,” Betsey eagerly made her way over to Maxine and asked, “Can we take a photo together?”

“Of course,” Maxine replied with a warm smile. Moments later, Waylon entered the venue, instantly causing a stir. Many of the artists from Edge Entertainment practically idolized him.

Betsey’s excitement was palpable as she rushed over. She could hardly believe it—Waylon, the country’s top star, had actually shown up at the party! The power of the Johns family was truly something extraordinary!

“Can we take a picture together, Waylon?” Betsey asked, her eyes sparkling with adoration.

Assuming she was Madisyn’s friend, Waylon naturally agreed. After they snapped the photo, Betsey was thrilled with how it turned out. She could hardly wait to post it on Twitter and make everyone else green with envy.

Meanwhile, Levi and Norton crossed paths. Norton eyed Levi with a half-smile. “You’re here too? Who invited you?”

“A friend of mine knows Miss Johns,” Levi replied with a calm smile, waiting for Norton’s reaction. Norton must have also wanted to establish a connection with Miss Johns himself, but Levi had beaten him to it.

Norton merely smiled and said nothing.

Levi added with a hint of malice, “What a shame. I was thinking about giving up the company to you.”

“Oh? You seem rather confident.”

“Well, there is no one to help you, and I just happen to be about to know Miss Johns.” Determination gleamed in Levi’s eyes as he spoke.

Norton couldn’t be bothered to respond. Would Levi still be so smug if he knew Madisyn was Andrew’s girlfriend? It seemed Levi hadn’t been keeping up with the gossip online; if he had, he wouldn’t be so blissfully clueless.

As more and more people arrived, anticipation hung in the air. Everyone seemed to be eagerly awaiting Madisyn’s grand entrance.

Betsey had mingled with quite a few people by now, making it a remarkably productive evening. At that moment, her gaze fell upon a woman entering in a stunning purple gown, her presence akin to a goddess descending from the heavens. The woman was so breathtakingly beautiful that it felt as though the lights on the yacht dimmed slightly in her wake.

Betsey was stunned. It took her two seconds to realize that the mesmerizing woman was none other than the shop assistant from the Natural Beauty store. What was she doing here? Was she relying on a man to gain entry? Betsey’s eyes flashed with disdain. Ha, this woman was in for it now—she was determined to ensure her benefactor kicked this woman out.

With arrogant strides, Betsey made her way over.

Madisyn looked at Betsey with cool detachment.

“You’ve got some nerve showing up at my friend’s birthday party,” Betsey said, her voice dripping with utter disdain.

Madisyn’s beautiful face remained inscrutable as she replied, “Your friend?”

“That’s right. My friend is Madisyn Johns, the host of this birthday party!” Betsey beamed with pride. She had uncovered Madisyn’s identity through one of her social media posts and had been determined to get close ever since. Even though Madisyn had barely acknowledged her attempts, Betsey felt they were already on friendly terms.

“I didn’t know I had a friend like you,” Madisyn replied, her expression remaining cold and icy.

Betsey froze, the implication sinking in. With a mocking glance, she looked Madisyn up and down. “What did you say? Do you think you’re Madisyn or something?”

“And who do you think you are?”

“I’m like her sister!” Betsey’s voice grew louder with indignation. “You fraud! You’re pretending to be Madisyn!”

Madisyn chuckled, clearly reveling in Betsey’s foolishness. Feeling mocked, Betsey was about to message her benefactor when Maxine arrived on the scene.

“Miss Johns, good evening,” Maxine greeted Madisyn respectfully.

“Good evening,” Madisyn nodded.

At this point, everyone noticed Madisyn and gathered around, offering her heartfelt birthday wishes.

“Happy birthday! You look absolutely stunning today!”

“Happy birthday, Madisyn! Hope you make tons of money this year!”

“Happy birthday, Madisyn! I wish you joy every day!”

Andrew emerged from the crowd, clad in a custom black suit adorned with intricate vintage embroidery. His appearance was even more captivating than usual. He approached Madisyn with a warm smile. “Happy birthday, Madisyn.”

Madisyn gazed at his dazzling face and offered a soft smile. “Thank you.”

“Wow. Kiss her!”

“What a beautiful couple. They’re absolutely perfect together! KISS her!”

The crowd began to cheer.

Waylon stood there, dazed, his eyes fixed on Andrew and Madisyn. He then turned to Howard and Dane. “When did this happen?” He had been away for just a few months, and now they were together?

While he didn’t mind Andrew and Madisyn being a couple, it still took him by surprise. He hadn’t even had a chance to build a deep bond with Madisyn, and Andrew had already swooped in.

Neither Howard nor Dane paid any attention to Waylon. As the crowd continued to cheer, their gazes swept across the room. The atmosphere shifted, and the cheering abruptly ceased under the weight of their commanding presence.

Elaine and Glenn watched the scene unfold, their amusement barely contained as they chuckled. Elaine said, “Let the young ones have their fun; go enjoy the breeze.”

“Alright, dear,” Glenn, the obedient husband, agreed and followed her outside.

Madisyn sensed her brothers’ displeasure and quickly addressed the crowd, “Thank you all for coming to my birthday party. I hope this year brings us all joy and success. Enjoy yourselves tonight, and now, let’s kick off the dance!”
