Chapter 187
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 187:
Liza was at a loss for words, her body trembling. She believed Madisyn lacked proper social etiquette. Sensing the growing tension, Teresa intervened. âLetâs drop it. Thereâs no point in arguing over a room. I was considering asking my brother to show our department more care, but it seems Madisyn isnât interested, so letâs forget that idea.â
This caught the attention of the other sycophants, who then turned to Madisyn. âMadisyn, did you hear that? Teresa could get Mr. Johns to favor us, which would boost our standing in the company. Wouldnât that be beneficial?â

âExactly, Madisyn. You shouldnât let your selfishness impact all of us,â another chimed in.
Madisyn looked at the three sycophants and chuckled. âIf Mr. Johns were so easily influenced, the Johns Group would have collapsed long ago. Only naive people would believe Teresaâs claims. If she could truly sway Mr. Johns to favor our department, why would she have waited until now?â
The three felt embarrassed after being scolded and looked toward Teresa for guidance.
Teresaâs lips pursed as she responded coldly, âI may be a Johns, but I donât misuse company resources for personal gain, which is why Iâve never done it. Forget it. Madisyn is just being petty. I wonât engage in this squabble.â
With that, Teresa walked out of the room in her high heels, leaving Emeline and others dumbfounded.
âItâs absurd. Itâs Madisynâs room in the first place, and Teresa acts like sheâs being magnanimous by not pursuing it. Itâs utterly ridiculous.â
âAbsolutely, itâs hilarious.â
Teresa overheard their comments and nearly twisted her ankle in frustration.
Throughout the day, everyone had a blast exploring the manor. Madisyn, accompanied by Emeline and other colleagues, engaged in various activities. Then, a message from Dane popped up on her phone.
âWant to hang out together?â
Madisyn replied, âNo, Iâm with my colleagues.â
Dane had to let it go. âAlright then. How about joining us for dinner tonight?â
Madisyn replied, âWeâll see.â
She and her colleagues headed toward the stables. There, someone was already out riding a horse. Emeline, full of enthusiasm, asked, âDo you want to give horseback riding a try?â
âAbsolutely!â Annis exclaimed, excitement bubbling over.
Madisyn joined them in picking out horses. Unexpectedly, Teresa and her group walked over.
Liza nudged Teresa. âTeresa, can we join your brother for dinner tonight? Are you having dinner with him?â
âHe might be meeting with clients. I shouldnât disturb them,â Teresa replied dismissively.
âBut todayâs supposed to be a day off. Any clients today would likely be more informal contacts,â Liza argued. âI heard heâs staying in the main villa right next to ours. It must be incredible, and the dinner exceptional.â
Teresaâs irritation grew. Damn it, if she could go, she certainly would have. The truth was, she didnât have the influence to join such gatherings.
âSince Iâm here with you guys, Iâll have dinner with you,â Teresa said, trying to appear accommodating.
âWe could all go with you to meet Mr. Johns,â Liza suggested eagerly.
The others joined in, curiosity lighting up their faces. âIâve never seen him up close. Teresa, arenât we your friends? Canât we come?â
âYeah, dining with him would be a dream come true,â they chimed in.
Feeling cornered, Teresa noticed Madisyn selecting a horse and sauntered over with a raised eyebrow. âOh, Madisyn, you want to try horseback riding? Be careful. Try not to fall!â
Her intent was merely to taunt Madisyn, but Liza chimed in, âIs horseback riding really suitable for someone like you? Madisyn, you should dismount before you make a fool of yourself! Horse riding suits Teresa better.â
âIf youâre looking for something to do, why not go shovel manure at the village entrance?â Madisyn responded without a trace of emotion, incredulous at their audacity.
Feeling insulted, Liza retorted sharply, âIâm just stating facts. Did that upset you? It seems you still fail to recognize the difference in class between you and Teresa. Would you dare to challenge Teresa in horseback riding?â
Teresa was taken aback. When had she ever suggested she wanted to compete with Madisyn? Fortunately, she had tried horseback riding before.
Noticing Madisynâs hesitation in choosing a horse, Teresa smirked slightly. A competition didnât seem so far-fetched after all. âMadisyn, are you up for a challenge?â Teresa asked, a gleam in her eye.
Madisyn recognized the setup but was amused by their boldness. How many times had these people been outmatched by her? Yet, they still dared to stir up trouble.
Madisyn answered, âWhy wouldnât I? But a mere race sounds boring.â
Teresa raised an eyebrow, intrigued. âAre you proposing a bet?â
Madisyn replied calmly, âIf you lose, you confess every lie youâve told others. How does that sound?â
