Chapter 163
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 163:
Susan, sitting next to Madisyn, felt an overwhelming urge to clap. Madisynâs sharp wit was captivating, and Susan wished she would continue.
âAlright, itâs rare for us to gather like this. Letâs enjoy a meal together,â someone suggested, attempting to play the peacemaker.
As everyone began to eat, the room quieted down, though the conversation consistently circled back to Jenna and Gilbert.
Susan, ignoring them, leaned toward Madisyn and asked, âWhat kept you?â
âI ran into some trouble on the way,â Madisyn replied, her voice tinged with mild frustration.
The âtroubleâ was Andrew. Knowing that Madisyn would be attending a reunion where Gilbert would be present, he had felt a pang of jealousy and had kissed her passionately in the car, leaving her struggling to avoid showing up with swollen lips.
Just then, a man approached and raised his glass toward Madisyn. âA toast to you, the most beautiful girl in our school.â
Madisyn glanced up, realizing she didnât recognize the man.
âIâm sorry, Iâm not fond of drinking,â she said bluntly.
âDo you know what Asherâs been up to these days, Madisyn? You shouldnât dismiss him so quickly,â Teresa interjected with a mischievous grin.

It turned out that the man was Asher Cruz, who had pursued Madisyn during their high school years. But now, she had no idea what he was up to. Asher, mistaking her indifference for ignorance, began to boast, âIâm working at my fatherâs company now. Itâs a publicly traded group with ties to the Santos family and other powerful families. Madisyn, I know youâre having a hard time. If you ever need help, Iâm here. Weâre old classmates, and I wonât just stand by.â
As he spoke, Asher reached out to touch Madisynâs shoulder.
Susan felt her blood boil, but before she could act, Madisyn grabbed Asherâs hand and pushed it away, causing his hand to slam against the wall with a thud.
The room fell silent.
Jenna, who had intentionally invited Asher to the reunion, watched with narrowed eyes. She knew Asher had once admired Madisyn but had been too hesitant to act because of her high status as a member of the Chapman family.
Now that Madisyn had lost her status, Asher saw an opportunity. He thought she would be desperate for help and surely willing to accept his advances. But he hadnât expected her firm rejection.
âMadisyn, how dare you treat me like this?â Asher seethed, rubbing his sore hand. âYou should be grateful Iâm interested in you. Being with me would secure you a life without worry.â
âIâm sorry, but even if I were blind, I wouldnât be interested in you,â Madisyn retorted, her voice icy and unyielding.
Jenna, sensing an opportunity, chimed in with a gentle tone, âMadisyn, arenât you looking for someone to take care of you now? Asherâs family is nearly as influential as the Santos family. Youâd find happiness with him eventually. Forget about Dane. Heâs completely out of your league.â
Asher, emboldened by Jennaâs words, slammed his glass down and looked at Madisyn arrogantly. âIf you drink this now, Iâll let your rudeness slide just this once.â
All eyes were on Madisyn. Many expected her to comply, believing that crossing Asher would bring trouble.
âMadisyn, letâs leave,â Susan urged, tugging at Madisynâs arm.
But Asher wasnât done. âSusan, this doesnât concern you. Sit down,â he growled, shoving Susan to the floor.
A flicker of cold rage passed through Madisynâs eyes. Without hesitation, she grabbed a glass of red wine and poured it over Asherâs head.
The room was stunned into silence.
The wine streamed down Asherâs face, soaking his clothes and dripping onto the floor.
The shock lingered as everyone watched in disbelief.
Asher stood frozen for a moment, trying to comprehend what had just happened. When the reality of the situation finally sank in, his expression turned murderous. He reached out to grab Madisynâs hair, and some in the room shut their eyes, fearing what might happen next.
