Chapter 154
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 154:
âEvie is still putting on an act. How absurd! The guise of innocence really comes in many forms these days!â one audience member remarked.
Evie, trembling with rage and staring at Ericaâs smug look, raised her hand and delivered a slap across Ericaâs face.
Erica, caught off guard, stared back at Evie in disbelief. âHow could you slap me! Are you lashing out because youâre embarrassed?â
Giana scowled. âEvie, youâve stolen my work, and now you resort to hitting? Thatâs despicable!â
âHmph, even if it gets me disqualified, I wonât stop until Iâve had my fill of beating this bitch!â Evie spat out, then charged at Erica, pushing her to the floor and slapping her multiple times.
Erica was too shocked to respond initially, and by the time she gathered herself, her face throbbed from the repeated slaps. âAh! Let go of me!â
The judges watched, dumbfounded.
They had never witnessed a contestant so bold as to strike someone so openly, completely disregarding her own reputation!
âSecurity! Come quickly and intervene!â one of the judges called out.
The security guards hurried over and held Evie back. At that moment, Madisyn approached calmly. âHold on a second.â
âMadisyn,â Giana glared at her sharply. âYour artist was assaulting someone, and you just watched?â
âAnd why didnât you defend your friend when she was being attacked?â Madisyn retorted.
Your imagination starts at g Ɐ ln Ï Î½ð ðsâ¤conn
Giana was at a loss for words.
With Evie behaving so wildly, if she had intervened, wouldnât she have been attacked too?
Attempting to change the subject, Giana said, âTake your artist and leave. Donât cause more trouble here.â
âIt appears that the real troublemakers have always been you,â Madisyn responded coolly, giving Giana a look that felt like she was staring at a stranger.
Giana shivered under Madisynâs intense gaze, suddenly aware of how formidable Madisyn could be.
When Madisyn finally diverted her gaze, Giana collected herself and asked sharply, âMadisyn, what are you implying?â
Giana was aware that even Madisyn would struggle to reverse the situation this time. Lacking evidence was their main hurdle.
Feeling reassured in Madisynâs presence yet powerless, Evie whispered to her, âMadisyn, perhaps we should let it go. We donât have any proof, and nobodyâs going to take our word for it. Iâm furious! It must be Ericaâs scheming. That two-faced bitch! After the competition, Iâll force her to admit what she did.â
Madisynâs eyebrows rose slightly in amusement. How could Andrew and Evie be related when their ways of thinking were so disparate?
âErica, you mentioned you saw Evie leave the room. What time was it?â Madisyn asked, turning her attention to Erica.
Erica answered, âIt was late. I canât say the exact time. I assumed she had something urgent to attend to and would return shortly, but she didnât come back.â
âReally? So, do you normally sleep with your door open?â Madisyn asked.
âOf course not,â Erica responded automatically.
But immediately after her response, she fell silent.
This prompted others to reflect as well. Even if Evie had indeed left her room late at night, how could she have stolen Gianaâs draft if Gianaâs door was presumably closed?
Gianaâs assistant added, âActually, last night, when I left Gianaâs room, I didnât shut the door completely. Itâs possible Evie used that moment to slip inside.â
The scenario sounded far-fetched but still seemed within the realm of possibility. Doubt continued to hover around Evie.
Madisyn gave a wry laugh. âSo, Evie supposedly left her room late at night, managed to find Gianaâs room exactly, and by chance, the door was left slightly open. She then entered, stumbled upon Gianaâs handwritten draft, quickly memorized it, and the next day performed it even better than Giana could.â
Each part of the story might seem feasible alone, but combined, they grew more and more unlikely. The audience shared doubtful looks.
It all seemed too far-fetched!
âBut in my opinion, Gianaâs rendition was better,â Erica argued.
Gianaâs assistant quickly added, âI agree. Gianaâs performance was the superior one.â
The audience stayed quiet; assessments of performances are often subjective.
âAlright, Giana, explain to usâwhat is the core message of these lyrics?â Madisyn inquired.
Giana responded confidently, âThe song is about how heartbroken I felt when the man I loved for so long chose someone else without warning. It hurt, but I still hoped heâd be happy in his new love.â
Her explanation matched the apparent meaning of the lyrics.
âThe way Giana describes it seems correct. I donât see any discrepancies,â someone in the audience commented.
âYes, it certainly seems like a sad song.â
The audience members echoed this sentiment one by one.
Giana experienced a wave of gratification, wondering what Madisynâs next move would be.
Madisyn said, âAre you sure about that?â
âAbsolutely,â Giana affirmed.
âBut these lyrics arenât just about being heartbroken and sending good wishes. Theyâre about the agony of getting rid of a jerk and eventually embracing a new beginning!â Madisyn stated emphatically.
Giana scoffed. âMadisyn, youâre twisting things to suit your story.â
âYou donât believe it? Then examine the first letter of each line in the lyrics and see for yourself,â Madisyn suggested, turning to the judges.
One judge quickly checked and read, âLucky to lose you, jerk, go to hell.â
The judge was stunned.
The audience was equally shocked. Oh my god. They reflected and realized it was accurate!
Gianaâs complexion went ashen.
