Chapter 321
The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call
Chapter 321 Wynterâs Many Talents
Wynter sauntered up to the lily pond. As she surveyed the mini
landscape, the greenery, and the water feature meticulously arranged
to complement the waterfall, she asked, âGrandpa, who designed this?
Fabian thought she found the set-up appealing. Beaming, he said, â
Your brother, Albert, had a foreign designer work on this. If you like it,
I could have Albert make introductions.â
âAll right.â A smile curled on Wynterâs l*ps. âIâm just looking at the
elements here and how theyâve been set up around the waterfall, such
as these evergreen turquoise pebbles. Theyâre meant to bring good
luck, no?â
Fabian lit up. âYou know this too, Wynter?â
âI read about it once,â she said with a small laugh. âAs beautiful as
this set-up is, I donât think the aesthetics work in the aggregate. For
one, turquoise and water donât get along.
âThe turquoise is water-absorbent, and over time, the stones will get darker. You certainly wouldnât
want such vessels of good fortune to
be ruined.â
She pointed at the skylight in the corner. âAlso, thereâs too much. sunlight coming through. Thatâll
damage the turquoise over time, so itâs best if you move the stones around.â
Fabian stiffened. When he glanced at Wynter, his expression was one of speculation. Smart as he was,
he had dismissed the butler and the

rest of the household staff. Alexis was the only one in his and Wynterâs company.
Once the living room had quieted down, Fabian asked, âWynter, I need
you to be honest with me. Do you have much knowledge about gemstones and the such?â
âYes,â Wynter admitted. âA fortune teller taught me these concepts, including how gemstones could
affect the energy of the household. If the turquoise stones are for good luck, then damaging them could
do
more harm than good.â
As she said this, she pointed at the eastern part of the house.â Perhaps you could think of moving the
turquoise stones there and
leaving some other more durable stones in this pond.
âThe Quinnells could prosper enough even without the turquoise
stones, but thatâs because the family business is thriving. If you believe in harnessing the power of
gemstones, then rearranging this
set-up might be a safer option.â
Fabian did not doubt Wynter. If it were anyone else who told him such things, he wouldâve dismissed it
as superstition.
However, his skepticism was nowhere to be found as he considered Wynterâs advice solemnly. âMoving
the stones will be better for our familyâs fortune then?â
âOf course.â Wynter helped ease him onto his seat. âBut donât worry about it. A quick fix is all you need.
If youâre worried about the pond. losing its luster due to the lack of turquoise, we can have Alexis add a
few fish into the water.
âIâll bring amethyst or quartz to replace the turquoise. That way, you

wonât have to compromise on good fortune or aesthetics.â
Fabian was shocked. âThatâs it? I donât have to hire someone for this
kind of work?â
Wynter laughed. âWho would you hire, Grandpa ? I didnât think youâd take decorating a water feature so
seriously.â
âOh, a few business acquaintances of mine are quite into these sorts of things,â he groused, pinching
the bridge of his nose. âIâd never hear the end of it if they knew I was just as invested as them.â
Pouring him some tea, Wynter pointed out, âYou could downplay it, and say itâs just a matter of science.
âHow is this a matter of science?â Alexis couldnât help asking.
âAnything can be explained through science. Turquoise is made up of copper, which turns the water
toxic after being submerged for a long timeâ Wynter explained.
Alexis understood this immediately. âThat makes sense!â
âYou could always use scientific logic to argue your way through most things. If there are too many
plants in an enclosed room, ther oxygen toxicity could happen on account of dangerous levels of
oxygen.â Wynter suddenly met Alexisâ gaze. âAlexis, Iâd like to see Grandpaâs room if thatâs all right?â
Fabian rose to his feet and clutched his cane. âYou donât have to ask Alexis for permission! Come with
me.â
