Chapter 191
The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call
Chapter 191 False Statement
As it turned out, the Ravenwood police precinct did have the audacity to pull dirty tricks.
Granted, they dared not take things too far. With a trivial case like Wynterâs, it was easy money for the
officers.
It was no surprise that an older officer came in after the interrogator left.
The officer, who looked like a sleaze, paid no mind to Dom and Lucas.
He addressed Wynter directly, âEven streamers arenât above the law, you know. Iâve certainly never
heard of legitimate doctors giving medical advice through liveâstreaming.
âThe Shepherds are famous in the Southdale medical industry, but I donât see them commercializing
their skills at the expense of human lives!â
Wynterâs icy gaze snapped up to the officerâs face. âTopâtier hospitals such as the ones owned by the
military have long since given medical advice and consultation through live- streaming.
âThe doctors who preside over the liveâstreaming are specialists too. The whole point of doing this is to
make healthcare accessible for everyone and lower their travel costs.
âThe reason why the Shepherds refuse to set up a liveâstreaming channel is because they know
theyâre not good enough.â
She maintained her composure as she surveyed the officerâs face. âI have the necessary
documentation to give out medical advice through liveâstreaming.
âIâm qualified in modern and traditional medicine, which makes me legitimate. The only thing thatâs
illegitimate here is your grounds for arresting us.â
The officer scoffed. âQuite the talker, huh?â
He ignored Wynter and led in the middleâaged woman who had interrupted Wynterâs live- streaming
earlier.
He asked the middleâaged woman âIs this the young lady who gave your grandson the wrong
prescription?â
At that moment, the officer deliberately switched on the surveillance cameras.
The middleâaged woman immediately replied, âItâs her, officer! You have no idea how cruel she is.

âMy grandson was down with the flu, but his condition got worse after taking the medicine she
prescribed. Heâs been comatose since.â
âRight, Iâve got the answer I need.â The officer pulled out an affidavit that had been
prepared in advance. âSign here and you may leave after that.â
The whole process left Dom furious. Even Lucas had gone livid. âYouâre fabricating a witness
statement!â
This whole ordeal was rotten to the core.
With a signed affidavit, Wynter could be deemed medically negligent. It would also imply that Dom and
Lucas had assaulted officers who were on duty.
âShut up!â The officerâs palm struck the table as he shot Lucas a warning look. âNobody asked for your
opinion!â
Lucas willed himself to calm down. There was no point in retorting at this juncture, no matter how
satisfying it might be.
The officer couldnât care less about what Lucas thought. He turned and left the room to
retrieve a second affidavit.
After he was out of the interrogation room, he said to his coâworker, âYou shouldâve been more
efficient.
You need to work faster if you want to get Captain Weissman the statements he asked for. Keep that in
mind, all right?â
The coâworker was none other than the interrogator from earlier.
He had done as Wynter asked and looked into the circumstances of the arrest.
Not only were the circumstances suspicious, but the middleâaged woman who had gone into the room
just now also had a criminal record. She was paid to play the victim.
However, the interrogator couldnât tell Wynter any of this. He poured a glass of water and
went into the room.
âListen to me, young lady. Stop being stubborn,â the interrogator said quietly. âThings arenât as simple
as you think. If your family has any connections at all, give them a call. You could get out on bail if
youâre lucky.â
Dom snapped angrily, âWhy should we ask for bail when weâve done nothing wrong?â
âNothing wrong?â The older officer had returned and was pointing at the auxiliary officer outside. âYou
roughed up my colleague, and yet you claim youâve done nothing wrong?â

âI was the one who beat him up, not these two,â Wynter countered.
The officer didnât even bother looking up at her. âThen do as Levi suggests and call your family. Weâre
just doing our jobs.â
The implication behind his words was clear.
