CHAPTER 1199
The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call
Chapter 1199 The Wray Family
Fabian had been consumed by guilt over Shaneâs misdeeds.
Understanding his distress, Warren shifted the conversation and mentioned Tobiasâ endorsement.
He added, âMs. Marie has made a brilliant and flawless decision. The Wrays might have a hard time stirring conflict.
âI believe blood is always thicker than water. The Whitmans will come to acknowledge Ms. Marie and Ms. Wynter.
âBesides, the scions from the Whitmans used to adore Ms. Wynter as well. Theyâll surely attempt to reach out to her.â
Fabian stood with his dragon cane as he looked out of the window. The Wray family has absorbed many companies throughout the years. Some of our partners can hardly survive under their rule.
âAs for the Southern Cascadia Chamber of Commerce⦠I only hope Sevie perceives my thoughtful intent.â
Warren comforted him. âMs. Wynter is a smart girl. Iâm sure sheâll understand your ambition.
âBesides, Mr. Albert willingly suggesting going to Hawford validates your decision. Iâm sure none of the ancestors would have wanted to
see the fall of the Chamber of Commerce.â
Looking up, Warren continued, âThe Quinnell family hasnât changed. This is something everyone has anticipated, including yourself.
âAnd now, our time has come. Entrusting the company to Ms. Wynter
is just the first step. Hawford presents a more challenging and
complex environment compared to Kingborne, but thatâs not a
concern.
âWhatâs important is ensuring the Chamber of Commerce remains in the Cascadiansâ hands. That is our legacy.â
As he spoke, Warren cast his eyes downwards. âIâm truly grateful that Ms. Sevie is here. She has fulfilled many of my regrets. Sheâs a
remarkable leader, and I believe sheâll let an old man like me reflect on the past with fondness.â
Indeed, an average business person could never restore the Southern Cascadian Chamber of Commerce to its former glory.
With how the world had changed, it was difficult to find loyal followers who would adhere to their rigid rules. Warren could only pray for a miracle.
âIn that case, letâs look forward to Wynter making waves in Hawford!â Fabian gazed at Warren with a hearty laugh.
It seemed the city was in for a sleepless night ahead.
In contrast to Fabianâs cheerfulness, the Wray family was enveloped
in glum. Upon learning the Wrays had delivered an invitation to
Wynter, their allies couldnât help expressing their confusion.
Kenton gently blew on his coffee before setting the cup down. âItâs
not my decision to make. Someone from the Darnell family requested
it.â
âAre you talking about that person? Has he returned to Hawford?â
Someone wore a pale expression at Kentonâs words.
âWhatâs with the face, Callum? You had a weird look when you heard
about him.â Kenton chuckled.
âThat guy really roughed me up back in school,â came the reply. The others instantly burst into laughter.
âThat said, the Darnells rarely involve themselves in official affairs. Why did they decide to step in now?â one questioned curiously.
Kenton gave a casual shrug. âWho knows? Itâs not a big concern,
anyway. That person has beef with the Quinnells. Thereâs no way heâll
stand by their side.
âHe might have sent the invitation to embarrass them. Moving on, Iâve
gathered everyone here to hear your thoughts.â
Kenton gestured to open the box behind him, leaving everyone
astounded. Though they were no strangers to money, they couldnât
help but marvel at the hefty sum.
âHereâs the deposit. You know weâre currently short a key member. In
fact, Ms. Clinton has repeatedly expressed her interest in investing in
the Chamber of Commerce,â Kenton explained.
