Chapter 892
Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman’s Sinner Wife
âHeâs giving up all his hard work for a woman?â
Felipeâs subordinates under Dice quickly booked a flight over.
The early summer morning dawned with rainfall, and Felipe went to check on Cathyâs grave in fear that it would be affected by the rain.
Only after confirming that everything would be fine did Felipe return. Upon his arrival, he found quite a few cars stopped by the entrance of his small villa. When he entered the house, he saw Dice and his subordinates waiting impatiently for him.
âAre you really going to dismiss the company, Master Whitman?â Dice asked.
Felipeâs expression was indifferent. âI donât like repeating myself.â
âBut Master Whitman, is it really worth dismissing such a large company because of a woman?â
A layer of frost covered Felipeâs warm features. âThis woman you speak of is my wife.â
ââ¦â Seeing Felipe angry, Dice dared not talk back and resorted to persuading him instead. âBut Madamâs already dead, Master Whitman. Iâm sure she wouldnât want to see you moping around all day.
There are hundreds of us waiting to work under you. What will we do when you dismiss the company?â
Felipe turned his icy back to them as he spoke emotionlessly, âDo not make me repeat myself. The company is mine, so what I do with it is my business. From today onward, we are but strangers. Youâve earned more than enough these few years, havenât you? Be content.â
âIâ¦â
Reading Felipeâs decisiveness, the subordinates remained quiet and left indignantly.
Felipe returned to the room to stare gently at an image of Cathy as he promised with a smile. âAre you seeing me? I really wonât partake in those trades again. As long as you request it, regardless of what it is, I promise Iâll see to it done.
âI just have one last thing to do, Cathy. Then, Iâll come and atone.
âWill you still forgive me?â
He spoke to himself as he fell into a deep sleep.
The sky was dark when he woke, and the rain refused to let up.
Just then, loud activity sounded from downstairs.
He washed up and went to look, realizing the people from earlier in the day had returned.
Dice was still leading them, but their attitude had changed drastically from before.
âI know you still miss Madam, Master Whitman, and I know that you donât feel like getting yourself involved in these trades now. But we can still work. Iâve already discussed this with most of them, and if you donât want to be a part of this anymore, Master Whitman, then I can take over the company from you. Howâs that?â
Understanding their goal, Felipe scoffed. âI created the company and itâs through my hard work that its force is recognized. I wonât let anyone take this from me.â
Diceâs expression grew fierce at Felipeâs rejection. âIf thatâs the case, Master Whitman, then donât blame us for being impolite. If you want to think about that dead woman, then go ahead, but I will take over the company!â
Felipeâs gaze sharpened as a dark look flashed through his otherwise warm and gentle features.
Swiftly, he walked toward Dice and kicked his knee.
Dice instantly fell to the ground with one leg in front of Felipe. He gave a painful howl.
He snapped his head up to struggle, but Felipe had a gun aimed at his forehead. Felipe was staring at him from above, his gaze flaring with bloodthirst and disdain.
Dice shivered, almost forgetting that Felipe was an extremely skilled fighter.
The man may look gentlemanly and elegant, but the truth was the complete opposite. He was scheming and unpredictable.
âTake your words back, or Iâll have you apologize to my wife in the afterlife.â
Diceâs heart shook in fear, but his expression quickly changed into one full of disdain when he remembered the bargaining chip he had. âI suggest you keep your gun, Master Whitman. Or elseâ¦â
He paused to look at the men on the side. âLet Master Whitman look at what we have.â
