Chapter 241
RYN
We obeyed instantly, breaking into a full sprint down the hallway.
Just as we were about to turn a corner, I saw Konanâs beast held down by Mr. Cresswellâs beast while Mr. Caine attacked his friend.
We reached the end of that corner to a T junction and Sadie came to a stop, pulling the paper her father gave her out of her pocket. I went closer to see.
âWhere to?â I asked as I peered over her shoulder,
Sadie studied the paper and pointed left. âThere!â
So we moved quickly, getting farther away from the violent sounds of Mr. Cresswell and the Caines fighting
In my heart of hearts, I sincerely hoped that Mr. Cresswell survives. His death on my conscience would drive me mad, and 1 am already losing my grip on sanity.
As we turned yet another corner, we passed by something that made me halt to a stop. I backtracked to see it again and, to my delight, it was a glass room filled with armoury.
âWhat are you-â Sadie whisperâyelled, and then she saw what I saw and stopped. âOh, wow,â
âI think we should be armed.â I stated, and I barely got the words out when suddenly a warning alarm sound went of
I looked around confused for a second before I realized someone tripped an alarm and it could possibly be about us escaping. Without hesitating, I tried the door and when I found it locked, I looked around for something heavy.
Immediately I found a fire extinguisher, I took it off the wall and threw it with all the strength I had at the glass wall.
It shattered into a thousand pieces, and with a hammering heart, I went in, careful to avoid stepping on glass.
âCan you shoot?â I asked Sadie, and she looked unsure, so I took a Glock from the stand, filled it with a magazine, put the safety on and handed it to her. âWhenever necessary, remove the safety.â I demonstrated for her. âAim and shootâ
Sadie nodded and took the gun gingerly at first, before holding it firmly. Then I turned and loaded two Glocks, strapped a knife and gun pouch to my thighs and loaded them up.
âRyn, we have to hurry.â Sadie urged with a worried expression and just when I was about to exit the armoury, I noticed an empty bag and something else. A crazy thought crept into my mind, one that was extremely dangerous.
Without hesitation, I went back in, grabbed the bag and loaded it up before running back out.
Eventually we saw a white door with the bold, red words of âEXIT on it and, with one glance at each other, we dashed for it.
Coming out into the open air of the field, I bent over my knees, gasping for air while Sadie used a chain on the door handle to tie it together and secure it. My wolf wasnât yet a hundred percent, but at least my back didnât sting as much anymore.
âI think we are supposed to go this way.â Sadie pointed in a direction that was opposite from what I had in mind. I dropped the bag and approached her.
âSadie, I think you should go alone.â I said and her head snapped up to me from the map.
âI donât understand. We are supposed to escape together!â

Chapter 241
âI know. But listen to me, you need to go find helpâ 1 heitated, sending, a glance behind me. âThereâs something 1 need to
Sadie looked behind me in confusion, âWhat? What is 14***
Suddenly, the sound of many feet rushing from within the building we just left made its way to my ears. Sadieâs eyes rounded with fear. âTheyâre coming for us!â She gripped my hand. âWe need to w
As much as 1 wanted to, I dug my heeds into the ground and yanked my hand out of her hold. âIâm sorry i canât go with your 1 said with a heavy heart before turning around to pick the bay off the floor
âAt least, tell me why!â Sadie said as she came around to my front. âI need to know whyâ
1 turned a swift glance at the door, then her
âMr. Blackwell is going to unleash his special army within the hour. Thereâs no point in escaping, back home when trouble like that is following meâ 1 readjusted the bag. âNot when I can help itâ
Sadie slowly looked at my bag, and then at me, âWhatâs in the bag?â
âSadie, you have to leave now!â I began to move towards the warehouse in the distance and she followed,
âAre those bombs?â She pestered. âMy Goddess, Ryn, youâre going to blow up an entire building?â
I paused and turned to her. âI donât have a choice! Itâs either this or watching more innocent people die because of me! ! canât do that! So Iâm doing this!â
Suddenly, we heard a loud noise, and both turned to the door we just sealed, someone was trying to get it open.
âShit! I have to go!â I said and ran.
To my dismay, Sadie ran beside me, too.
âWhat the hell are you doing?! You should be escaping!â
âYouâve made your choice, and I respect it.â Sadie panted. âI have also made mine, and that is to stand by you no matter what. Please, donât disrespect that.â
My breath hitched, and my throat did that thing that showed I was about to cry. Instead, I swallowed it down.
By the time the door to the Temple opened with a loud bang, we were already halfway up the hill. I turned to see about a dozen men putting their noses in the air, searching for us.
And as we put more distance between us, I heard a man shout, âThere!â And I didnât have to look back to know that they were after us!
Eventually we got to the top, out of breath and exhausted but something in the ocean air made me freeze and all the hairs stood on my body.
The door to the warehouse opened and out came Sadieâs mother and Adam with a bandage around half his face. Following behind them were about half a dozen men.
The ones who chased after us caught up and suddenly we found ourselves trapped in the middle.
âSo itâs true.â Sadieâs mother said, âyou and your father betrayed the Circle.â
âYou mean the psycho Circle where you all are thieves and murderers?â
In the blink of an eye, Lydia closed the distance between her and her daughter and smacked her hard across the face. Sadieâs

head swung to the side as she held her face in shock. âYou slapped me?â
âYes, and I will do it again if thatâs what it will take to knock some sense into your skull, you ungrateful little wench!â She said, gripping her daughterâs arm. âNow, come with me!â
Sadie yanked her hand out of her motherâs grip, her brown eyes going cold. âIâm not going anywhere with you!â
Lydia stood in shock for a moment before her eyes grew cold. âYou will come with me, Sadie, or Iâll ask these men to tear your friend to pieces.â As soon as she said that, all the men surrounding us had eyes that glowed green and claws elongating from their fingers.
And as Adam smirked wickedly at me, I sent a prayer to the Goddess to help me get out alive.
