Chapter 236
RYN
1 couldnât believe my ears.
He took a step forward and my whole body trembled as 1 took a step back, raising my hand.
âStay where you aretâ 1 ordered and he stopped.
âWhy? Youâre going to kill me too the way you planned to kill my family?â He asked in a mocking tone, before taking another step forward.
âYour parents are assholes! They deserve it! Theyâve killed innocent people and for what? My inheritance?â I argued, while matching his steps backward. âHow could you do this to me, Adamit 1 thought we wereâ¦â
âFriends?â He arched a brow before breathing out a humorless laugh. âYou think Iâd choose you over my family?â His face contorted into one of rage. âYour Uncle murdered my brothers! He did a lot of damage to my family and you think I would stand by you against them?â
My throat constricted. âI had nothing to do with it
âYou have everything to do with it!â Adam countered, his eyes turning fiery red. âIâll have you mutilated and sent back in pieces the way your Uncle did to my brothers!â
I stopped in my tracks, my mood changing like the weather. Planting my feet into the ground, my jaw tightened. âYou know what?â I cocked my head to the side, feeling anger rise in my bones. âI am sick and tired of suffering for the sins I know nothing about!â My claws elongated from my fingertips. âBut if you insist, then youâll be the first to die!â
Adam smiled, âWeâll see about that.â
In an instant, Adam moved with ridiculous speed, and I barely had enough time to step out of the way. Catching my midriff, Adam slammed my back on the ground and as he straddled me, he raised his claws high to strike.
Thinking fast, I took dirt and flung it in his eyes and as he recoiled, I flipped him to the ground instead and clawed his face. His cry echoed in the trees silencing the hooting owls and I took that opportunity to sock his jaw. Instantly, he raised his forearms up, blocking his face from further assaults, and that made me mad. I wanted to hurt him.
I wanted him to feel a sliver of the pain raging inside me.
Looking for open spots, I curled my hands into fists, raised them high, and slammed them against his chest where his beating heart lay. I did it again the second time, and Adam coughed out blood.
As I raised my hands a third time, ready to give the final blow, a loud sound roared through the woods, and immediately, my body jolted backward with the force of a thousand push.
Fire roared through my body as I landed on my back a few feet away from Adam. I raised my head to see none other than Mr. Blackwell, emerging from the shadows with a shotgun in his hand.
Thatâs when I looked at my stomach and realized I had been shot.
Fuck! I began to panic, my eyes watering.
A scream tore out from my throat as I rolled on my side. My body was suddenly gripped with fits of cough which shook me violently. At the third cough, blood sputtered out of my mouth and as Mr. Blackwell checked on his son, I forced myself to my belly and began to move.

Chapter 236
Tears slipped out of my eyes as I tried to crawl away despite the pain burning through my ribs and back.

Now, I regret not going in to Theon and asking for help. Sadly, my phone was abandoned in the woods because Adam feared we would be tracked, so I had no way of calling for help.
I let my emotions lead me to destruction and now Iâm afraid I am going to die a senseless death before I even get to accomplish what I came here for.
I could already see my mother in tears, her heart broken at the loss of her only child.
I could imagine Theon shutting down completely and Miro burying himself again in alcohol.
And my uncle? How would he cope when he finds me dead?
Everything is always my fault.
I had no idea how long I had been crawling but it felt like hours and my arms had begun to feel tired. I knew crawling away at this speed was futile but I could not just stay there and wait to die.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of an helicopter and I paused, raising my head to the skies.
Could it be rescue? Could there possibly be a chance that I will be saved?
I heard feet crunching on dry leaves and then someone blocked my line of vision. I wasnât surprised that it was Mr. Blackwell but my hope shattered when I saw the sneer on his face which meant the helicopter wasnât for my rescue.
âWell, well, well, if it isnât the Almighty Ryn.â He grinned just like Adam. âYouâve been a pain ever since you were born and now itâs time I put an end to it.â
