Chapter 614

“Yeah, we’re doing this for a new beginning. Let’s have a look.” Kirk pushed Caroline into the master bedroom.

The redesigned master bedroom looked the same as always. However, it had a very relaxing atmosphere.

Caroline wanted to lie in bed and enjoy the night in peace. She rubbed her temples.

“It doesn’t feel like the layout here has changed a lot, but it gives off a completely different feeling than before.”

“Maybe it’s because I placed an aroma diffuser on the bedside, bought some plants, and also changed the ceiling’s design …” Kirk pointed to the ceiling.

Caroline looked up and realized that other than the ceiling, the entire room’s color was different. ”

When did you start making the changes?”

He couldn’t have completed such a big task in one day.

“Some time ago, when we were still fighting.” Kirk hugged Caroline from behind.

“I wanted you to see a new and different living space when you came back here. All of this will be brand new, just like our new beginning together.”

Caroline felt a warmth in her chest when she heard Kirk’s words. “How could you have been so confident about our future together? What if we hadn’t made up?”

“There’s no way that would have happened!” Kirk replied quickly.

“I will never let something like that happen.”

“So…” Caroline looked up at Kirk.

She asked, “When you asked Cook not to send me the wedding photos, were you afraid I would tear them up?”

Kirk’s gaze shifted unnaturally. “O–Of course not Caroline guffawed, “So you were worried that I would tear them up! That’s why you asked Cook not to send them to me. Kirk, were you that afraid of me divorcing you?”

She looked at Kirk mischievously, feeling like she had him in her grasp.

Kirk pinched Caroline’s nose. “You little devil. You must be so happy to know that I’m worried.”

Caroline let out a whine, “Let me go!”

Kirk let go and trailed his hands to her hips. “Then, shouldn’t you make it up to me?”

Caroline pushed him away. “I’ve done nothing wrong. Your boss is clearly the one at fault here. If you really want someone to make it up to you, go to him.”

After that, Caroline strode toward the next room. Kirk had no choice but to follow her. The next room they arrived in was the study, which had been nicely remodeled.

Caroline excitedly pushed open the next door but was stunned when she saw the furnishings.

Kirk, who was walking behind Caroline, immediately noticed something was off with her.

He stood behind her, and his expression darkened when he saw what was in the room. He yelled, ”

Ms. Carter!”

Edith heard Kirk’s noise from downstairs and responded, “Is something wrong, sir?”

“Come up here,” Kirk said sternly.

Edith thought carefully. She recalled to make sure that she hadn’t made any mistakes. Then, she climbed up the stairs.

“What’s wrong, sir?”

When Edith saw them standing at the door and refusing to enter, she curiously looked into the room. This room was a nursery she had specially renovated.

“Sir, is there something in this room that’s not to your liking? If there is, I’ll make changes immediately,” Edith said excitedly.

However, Kirk rained on her parade. “Get rid of this room immediately.”

Edith froze for a long while before she stammered, “W–Why?”
