Chapter 606

Caroline was confident that Kirk would be able to showcase his skills if he took control of Mackey Group. After all, he had quite the mind for business.

“Indeed.” Kirk looked brazenly at Caroline’s face.

He smiled as he asked, “Darling, have you ever thought about switching companies?”

Caroline replied, “Of course I have. The problem is that it’s not so easy to find a company that fulfills the requirements all of a sudden.”

“I have a good suggestion.”

Caroline cast Kirk a sideways glance. She suddenly had a bad feeling in her gut. “You don’t mean that overseas company, do you?”

She had been thinking of this problem. The best thing for Kirk to do once he quit was to go back to manage that company.

But if that was the case, then she and Kirk would have to be in a long–distance relationship.

Just thinking about how they would only be able to see each other a few times a year, Caroline felt an ache in her heart.

Kirk didn’t miss the nervousness in Caroline’s eyes. He smiled and said, “What are you thinking about?

“That company is my dad’s. Even if I go back to take it over, he wouldn’t allow it. Besides, it’s just a small company. I wouldn’t go back even if you asked me to.”

His final words soothed Caroline’s worried heart. She managed to calm down completely.

“Then you mean…”

“Collins Group.”

Caroline coughed violently, nearly choking to death on her saliva. “S–say that again?”

Caroline’s only goal was to bring the Evans Group back to its former glory. However, she didn’t even dare to say such a thing as taking over Collins Group now.

Kirk thoughtfully twisted open a bottle of water for Caroline.

Once Caroline calmed down, he continued, “Now, Collins Group is being pressured by SY Group No one dares to work with them anymore. We can hit them when they’re down. It’s our perfect chance.”

“Collins Group is under pressure?” Caroline asked in curiosity.

She hurriedly parked the car by the side of the road and took out her phone to search up some news regarding the company.

She was shocked when she saw the first result. It was about how many companies had announced an end to their partnerships with Collins Group.

“What in the world is going on?” Caroline’s expression was one of complete astonishment.

Kirk held her hand gently. He was in a brilliant mood. “The president did it.”

“Why did he do that?”

“He felt very bad about what happened last time. That’s why he did this after he found out you got abducted by the Collins family. It’s a show of faith.”

“Isn’t this too big a show of faith?”

Everyone knew that SY Group and Collins Group had been working hand–in–hand right before this.

Caroline knew that this partnership was purely a business decision.

Now that the partnership had been canceled because of her, she didn’t know whether to say Eddy’s second uncle was being reckless with his money or if he had a conscience.

After all, he knew that he should make it up to them after causing her and Kirk so much trouble in their relationship.

Kirk touched Caroline’s hair as he said, “After hurting my darling so badly, any show of faith isn’t enough.”

Caroline chuckled. She rubbed her head into Kirk’s hand.

“Let’s go.”

Kirk’s gaze fell on Caroline’s phone. Then, he said, “Alright.”

They both got out of the car.
