After a long while, Kirk replied, “All right. I’ll check my schedule, and I’ll let you know when I’m free.”

“Okay,” Caroline replied with a smile emoji.

“I’ll be having my dinner now. Make sure you have an early dinner, too.”

Caroline’s words made Jude feel much better. “Is your husband that patient?”

Kirk didn’t seem like a patient guy. Everyone feared him. At the thought of this, Jude’s suspicions of Kirk diminished slightly.
