Chapter 569

When Sean reached the bathroom, he rushed in without hesitation. “What happened?” He asked.

Seeing Gwen lying in the stall, he ran forward nervously.

“I don’t know. She passed out when she was in here. Was it because she drank too much?”

Sean carried Gwen on his back. He said, “It may be possible. I’ll take her to the hospital.”

“I’ll go with yo-”

Before Caroline could finish, Sean had already walked out of the bathroom with Gwen on his back.

She grabbed Cheryl and said, “I’ll go to the hospital with Dr. Yates. Tell the others to head home.”

“Okay,” Cheryl agreed.

Caroline kept up with Sean’s quick pace. When they arrived downstairs, she said, “I’ll get the car.”

Sean nodded.

Soon, Caroline drove her car over to Sean. She rolled down the windows and yelled, “Get in!”

Sean quickly put Gwen in the back seat and got into the car with her.

Caroline started driving to the hospital. Sean kept rubbing Gwen’s hands and feet in the back seat.

She only glanced at them for a moment before continuing to drive with confidence. Sean was a professional, so she trusted him fully on issues like this.

After driving a certain distance, they almost arrived at the hospital. Then, they heard Gwen’s voice in the back seat.

“Why am I in a car? Wasn’t I supposed to be in the restaurant?”

Caroline quickly turned around and looked at Gwen in surprise. “You’re awake, Gwen!”

Gwen had already sat up. She looked at Caroline in confusion and asked, “Carol, what am I doing here?” After finishing her words, she noticed Sean sitting beside her.

Sean’s body was tense, and his lips were pale as if he had been frightened.

“What’s wrong?” Gwen couldn’t resist asking him.

After a long time, Sean found his voice again. “I–I’m fine. D–Did you know you were passed out just now?”

Gwen noticed Sean’s body was still shaking when he talked, and she smiled.

“What do you mean by ‘passed out‘? I simply fell asleep. I can’t believe a doctor like you wouldn’t even tell whether I passed out or fell asleep.”

Hearing her words, Caroline stopped the car.

“… So, you fell asleep. You didn’t pass out? You really scared us just now.”

She said angrily, “I thought you had fainted, so we wanted to bring you to the hospital.”

Gwen laughed at her words. “Haha! It’s a good thing I woke up, then. We would have become a laughingstock if you had taken me to the hospital.

“Especially you, Dr. Yates. You’re supposed to be a genius doctor!”

Caroline lectured, “You’re really heartless, you know that? He didn’t properly check on your condition because he was worried about you.”

Just as Caroline was talking, her phone rang. She glanced at it. Kirk was calling.

“Hello?” She answered the call, not noticing Gwen smiling in the back seat.

Then, Gwen stared at Sean, but he avoided her gaze.

At this moment, Caroline said something to Kirk and got out of the car.

Gwen quickly glanced in Caroline’s direction, then lowered her head.

She apologized, “I’m sorry for making you guys worry.”

“It’s okay,” Sean said gently.

However, Gwen felt even worse.
