Chapter 556
Bogus Billionaire
âWhy do you say that, sir?â
âIf I hadnât forced Eddy so hard to marry Carrie, the two of them might have gotten together long ago.â
Simon didnât understand. He asked, âSir, thisâ¦â
âThat child is a stubborn one. The more you force him to drink, the more he wonât. Why didnât I realize this before?â
Now that Jude had mentioned it, Simon found it true as well.
âThatâs right. You always had to expend so much effort to get Mr. Eddy to visit Ms. Evans. But when you purposely went against him just now, he went right off.â
Jude sighed heavily before saying, âThough I know my intentions are good, I feel like Iâm doing something bad. It seems like I will have to do everything the opposite way from now on.â
Simon consoled him. âBut sir, havenât you simply found the right method of doing things? Iâm sure that Mr. Eddy will soon realize how much he cares for Ms. Evans.â
âI might not have that long.â Jude got up and walked to the window.
âLately, I feel so weak. I wonât die happy if I donât see Eddy and Caroline together before I pass.â
âSirâ¦â Simon went up behind Jude.
âYouâve only been a little tired lately. Rest well, and you will feel better. You will definitely live a long life.â
âWhatâs the point of living a long life? I hope that I can get to the other side and see Giselle sooner.â
âSirâ¦â
Jude waved a hand and slowly closed his eyes. After a moment, he reopened them.
âHave people keep a close eye on Daphne and Kirk. If something strange happens, inform me immediately.â
Simon tensed at this. âSir, is Mr. Kirk really â¦â
âI asked him about it just now. He admitted that he indeed likes Caroline. However, heâs not her husband. Plus, from what he said, it sounds like heâs trying to come up with a way to get her and her husband to divorce.â
âIn that case, it means your previous suspicions were wrong?â
âItâs still too soon to say. Whatever it is, itâs best to keep an eye out now.â
âYes, sir.â
After leaving Morrison Manor, Kirk didnât rush to the hospital, even though that was what he really wanted to do. He had something very important to do first.
After more than half an hour, Kirk arrived at a villa far away, on the outskirts of Osbury.
Sean and Charles had already been waiting there for a long time. Seeing Kirk arrive, they quickly went forward.
âThe three of them are being kept inside.â
Kirk nodded and walked into the villa. He pushed the door and went inside to find only wisps of light in the dark interior.
The three people tied to chairs raised their heads and looked toward the entrance.
They had already been kept here for one day and one night. After so much time, they were now absolutely terrified. Their eyesight wasnât very good, either.
With the light shining behind him, Kirk was only a vague silhouette to them. They couldnât see his features properly.
Nevertheless, Daphne could recognize Kirk at first glance. Her heart dropped.
Next to her, Jane was still doing her best to struggle. Even with her mouth sealed with tape, she kept making muffled noises in protest.
Kirk walked before her and ripped the tape off her mouth.
The pain made Jane gasp. Then, she burst into curses.
âDo you know who I am? How dare you treat me so roughly? Once I get out of here, Iâm not letting
