Hearing the voices of the police, the bodyguards felt like they had heard the voice of an angel.

Kirk eyed them for a moment before picking Caroline up again. He slowly went down the mountain as the police watched.

In Kirk’s embrace, Caroline felt her face burning. “Kirk.”

“You were very handsome just now.”

Kirk paused in his steps as he looked down at Caroline. “What did you say?”

Her face was completely red by now. She pouted. “I didn’t say anything.”

He smiled slightly. “But I heard it.”

“Why ask if you already heard it?”

“I want to hear it again.”

Caroline pressed her lips together and kept silent.

Kirk didn’t say anything more, either. He carried Caroline swiftly down the mountain.

Charles was at the head of the group.

The men went forward. Jane, Daphne, and Liam had no chance to fight back. Soon, they were brought before Charles.

He swept a glance over them and said, “Take them away.”

Unable to accept that this was the outcome of the situation, Jane struggled.

“Hold it. What makes you think you can take us away? I’m the wife of Howard Collins. You better let me go quickly, or I’ll make sure you get it!”

Charles was unaffected by her threats. He went into the car and faced a pale Daphne, who sat in the middle. “Ms. Dawson, it seems I still wasn’t clear enough with you last time.”

Daphne’s body trembled.

Jane only noticed how pale Daphne was now.

She thought that Daphne was simply too timid, so she puffed up her chest and reassured her. Daph, don’t be afraid. These people wouldn’t dare do anything to us. Once Howard gets here, they’ll all be begging for mercy.”

Hearing this, Liam couldn’t help but smile. “That’s right, Mrs. Morrison.”

You’re done for! You’ve offended both the Collins and Morrison families!”
