Chapter 531
Bogus Billionaire
Jane narrowed her eyes. âI wish she were dead, but she managed to escape even after I sent my men after her twice.â
She seethed with rage whenever she was reminded of this.
âThereâs something you should know,â Daphne told her.
âWhat is it?â
âShe didnât escape last time. Itâs because the men you sent were-â
âYou-â
âCalm down,â Daphne said.
âIf the men you sent worked for the Collins family, they wouldnât have made such a blunder.
Besides, they always do a good job at tidying up the mess afterward.â
Jane swayed when she heard this. âAre you suggesting that I get help from the Collinses?â
âYes. Iâm sure you want to take revenge for your daughter.â
âNaturally,â said Jane as she sat on the couch.
Her face was full of anguish when she spoke. âBut Howard made a deal with your husband. No one can harm Caroline once the Collinses and the Morrisons start working together.â
Daphne felt as though Jane had just dropped a bomb on her.
So this was why Kirk had agreed to cooperate with the Collinses.
Her hands clenched into fists beside her as jealousy seeped into her heart. Kirk truly loved Caroline, after all!
Daphne forced a smile and said, âWe wonât leave any traces behind as long as we give her a quick and clean death. Also, you still have me. I can back you up if anything goes wrong.â
âReally?â Jane beamed.
She had thought of doing this long ago but had put the thought aside because she hadnât been sure if Daphne would agree with it.
Now that Daphne said she would have their backs, Jane couldnât wait to get rid of Caroline âCertainly Seeing that Jane was on the verge of agreeing, Daphne immediately reassured her. âBesides, my plan is much more detailed this time. Iâm sure we can succeed.â
âAlright then! Tell me about it!â Jane urged.
Back at Carolineâs home, she saw Sean and Gwen off before turning to head back in. Suddenly, she found herself enveloped in Kirkâs arms.
âLet go of me.â Caroline hit his chest with her fists, embarrassed.
âI miss you so much, darling,â said Kirk as he started kissing the nape of her neck.
His kisses were like raindrops falling on the dry land that was her heart. She relished them as she relaxed and allowed herself to sink deeper into his embrace.
She resisted at first, but the room somehow felt warmer, and her legs became increasingly weak as though she were floating. Her mind was in a trance.
It was only when Kirk placed her on the bed that she became aware of the weight that was pressing on top of her body.
She pushed her hands against his sturdy chest, murmuring, âBe gentler â¦â
Her cheeks were already red from the heat, and her eyes were glazed.
âOkay,â said Kirk, and he swallowed, trying his best to restrain himself.
However, when his eyes fell on Carolineâs collarbone, her flawless skin, and her perfect figure, he forgot all about what he had promised her.
It was as though he were a beast that hadnât had any meat in a long time. He couldnât hold back at all as he ground his hips against Carolineâs without mercy, leaving her no strength to resist him.
It was 5:00 am. A sliver of light shone through the windows.
In a daze, Caroline turned to look at Kirk, who still wasnât done with it.
Lazily, she mumbled, âArenât you tired?â Her voice was rough when she spoke.
Kirk sat up and wrapped his arms around her. âAre you tired?â he asked, to which she glared at âDo you know what time it is already?â
Kirk laughed and pecked her on the lips. âIâve been holding back for far too long.â
Caroline turned to lie down on top of him. âYou could solve this by finding someone else to do it with you.â
Kirk immediately flipped them over so that she was beneath him. âSo youâve thought of doing this with someone else?â
