Chapter 524

Charles had seen many women like Daphne. He bent down and ripped Daphne’s arms away from his thigh, both sympathetically and coldly.

“You’ll be living here for now, Ms. Dawson. I’ll ask your manager to tell the outside world that you’re injured and need to rest. Take care of yourself.”

With that, he walked out of the room and slammed the door shut.

Daphne stared at the door, still unwilling to accept the truth.

“N–no! This isn’t true! Caroline can’t be Mr. Kirk’s wife! I–I am…”

But no matter how much she cried, no one came in to console her. After an unknown amount of time, her cell phone rang.

Daphne wiped away her tears. She picked up her phone and saw it was an unknown number. She wasn’t in the mood to answer the phone, but the caller was persistent.

Daphne was so angry that she answered the call and yelled, “Why the hell are you calling me, you crazy mutt? I’ll fucking kill you!”

“Oh gosh, a public figure like you is losing your mind. It seems that Caroline has caused you quite a lot of harm.”

When Daphne realized that the woman’s voice belonged to someone who knew Caroline was responsible for all this, she immediately calmed down. “Who are you?”

“You don’t need to know that. I’m just someone who’ll help you become Kirk’s wife.”

Daphne scoffed, “Are you kidding? Kirk is the richest man in Sarcozia. He won’t listen to someone like you.”

“Hmph. Even so, do you think he’ll listen to you? Daphne, I can’t believe you still don’t understand what’s happening.”

“What are you talking about?”

“A few months ago, while Caroline and Kirk were in Macovo taking wedding photos, you anonymously texted Caroline.

“You told her that Kirk had another wife abroad, which made their relationship fall apart.”

Daphne was utterly confused. “What are you talking about?”

But the woman ignored her and continued, “You even hired an actress named Dolly to instigate Caroline to investigate Kirk’s marital status.”

“I didn’t do any of that!” Daphne denied. She had only found out today that Kirk was married to Caroline “That’s right, you didn’t do any of this. I did.”

Daphne’s hair stood on end when she heard the woman.

“But now, all evidence points to you. Caroline and Kirk are still in the dark. They think you’re behind all this!”

“Who the hell are you? Why are you framing me?” Daphne shrieked.

“I told you, you don’t need to know who I am. You just need to listen to what I say.”

The woman’s voice dropped as she spoke temptingly, “I know everything about Kirk, as well as Caroline. As long as you listen to what I say, I can make you Kirk’s wife for real.

“Moreover, you broke Kirk and Caroline apart. Do you think Kirk will spare your puny life after he handles his other affairs?”

Daphne cried, “But I really didn’t do anything.”

“There’s no point saying that. All evidence points to you as the mastermind. You have no choice but to work with me.”

“Why would I work with you? You framed me!”

“I dumped all the responsibility on you to force you to work with me.”

“But what will you get for helping me?”

The woman hissed, “I’m helping you because I don’t want to see Kirk and Caroline together!”

Daphne immediately understood her words. “You’re Caroline’s enemy too? What did she ever do to you?”

“She made me lose my beloved career! Would you have let that slide?”

Daphne immediately trusted the woman. “Of course not!”

Then-”

“As long as you help me become Kirk’s wife, I’ll do anything you want!”

“Good. This is what you have to do…”
