Chapter 516

Daphne waved her hands, her face filled with fear. When Caroline saw Daphne’s reaction, she thought she was acting this scared because they had exposed her plan.

Little did she know that Daphne was afraid because Kirk was Caroline’s husband!

What was she supposed to do? A fraud like her had shown off her nonexistent power everywhere she went. Things wouldn’t end well for her.

Just as Daphne was about to collapse from fear, Charles ran backstage, panting. “Sir.”

He noticed the complicated situation and said cautiously, “I’ve caught Dolly.”

Kirk glanced at Charles and dragged Daphne to him. “Take her away. Eddy’s second uncle said he would deal with her!”

When Charles heard that, he immediately understood that Kirk had gotten out of his predicament.

His true identity hadn’t been revealed.

Charles couldn’t afford to waste any time. He hurriedly dragged Daphne away. Daphne didn’t return to her senses until she was thrown into the car.

Just like that, the fiasco backstage ended.

Caroline helped Sonia to the back door. Helena was already waiting there. She had rushed over immediately after finding out that Sonia had gotten the lead role in “Daughter of the Sea“.

When she saw Sonia’s swollen swollen, she asked in distress, “Oh no! What happened to you?”

Sonia didn’t answer.

Caroline answered on her behalf, “Daphne hit her.”

When Helena heard that Daphne was behind this, she frowned.

“Her again? She’s simply doing what she wants because she’s Eddy’s second uncle’s wife. I really hope she and Eddy’s second uncle get divorced soon.”

Sonia whispered, “That’s enough, Helena. I’m fine.”

“Look at you.” Helena looked at Sonia with distress.

She knew Sonia didn’t dare upset Daphne for fear that she wouldn’t be able to work in the entertainment industry anymore.

“But don’t be upset. Someone has already helped us take revenge.”

“What do you mean?” Sonia asked in confusion.

“Well.” Helena finally had a smile on her face at the mention of this.

“Daphne always thought she would be the female lead in ‘Daughter of the Sea‘.

“So she had written a post congratulating herself on getting the role and set it to be released at a certain time. As a result, her post ended up getting released at the same time as the official announcement.”

Then, she continued, “One post announced her as the female lead, while the other announced you as the play’s female lead.

“Her plans just blew up in her face. Now, many netizens have taken screenshots of both of these posts, sharing them all over the Internet. The comedic timing was amazing!”

Sonia finally smiled at her words.

“You’re absolutely right. But to be fair, everyone thought Daphne would get the role before I joined the audition. So it’s normal for her to write a congratulatory post in advance.”

“You’re right.”

Helena looked at Caroline gratefully. “To be honest, I’m really ashamed. It’s a good thing you insisted on coming here, Ms. Evans. Otherwise, we would have missed such a good opportunity.”

Caroline waved her hand. “Sonia deserves this. She has been working hard to get this role.

Without her dedication, sh wouldn’t have gotten it.”

Helena added, “You have a point. But if you hadn’t insisted, Sonia would have joined the TV show instead of getting this amazing role.

“I’ll be honest, Ms. Evans. I didn’t believe you when you said you wanted to make Sonia a world-

renowned A–lister. But now, you have my trust!”

Caroline’s first successful prediction about Sonia was likely good luck on her end, but getting it right the second time proved that Caroline was just that capable.

With Caroline’s guidance, Helena had complete confidence in Sonia’s future.

Sonia tugged at Helena’s clothes. “Let’s go, Helena.”

She noticed Kirk, who was standing behind Caroline, looking impatient. They had better not be a third wheel here.
