“Did Marietta really write this?” Caroline asked.

“It doesn’t seem to be her style.”

Marietta’s works were known for their sharp satire and harsh criticism. In contrast, this book was warm and tender. It was completely unlike her usual work.

Inside, Caroline couldn’t hold back the waves of nausea and started puking. Since she hadn’t eaten all day, nothing came out. Yet, her stomach kept churning.

After she vomited for a while, the feeling of nausea finally subsided.

Holding onto the toilet bowl, Caroline looked up to find Sonia looking at her worriedly. She forced herself to comfort Sonia, saying, “I’m fine.”

Caroline got up by supporting herself on the toilet. Her legs went weak, and she nearly slipped.

Luckily, Scia reacted quickly enough to catch her.

“Caroline.”

Caroline gave her a pained smile. “I’m hungry.”

Finally, Sonia felt somewhat at ease after hearing that. She helped Caroline back to the bed and sat her down. “I’ll cook you something.”

Caroline nodded shallowly. Once Sonia left, she took out her phone. Holding back the nausea, she typed in Daphne’s name.

The first result was still the news about Daphne being Eddy’s second uncle’s wife.

She frowned. Ignoring the buzzing in her head, Caroline kept scrolling through the news.

Soon, she found in the latest news an article that mentioned both Daphne and “Daughter of the Sea The article mostly talked about how Daphne was the best choice to be the star of the show.

Caroline clicked on Twitter. There, both “Daughter of the Sea” and Daphne were already trending.

The posts involved were mostly praise.
