Chapter 452
Bogus Billionaire
Caroline only found out that her name had trended the next day.
She didnât pay much attention to that kind of thing and only realized it because she had been checking the views on Soniaâs new webseries.
âSince last night until now, the accumulated views hasnât even broken five million yet,â the head of the advertising department said with a frown, rapping the desk in the conference room.
âMs. Evans, I donât think the show will become popular.â
Carolineâs expression was indifferent.
The head of the marketing department used this opportunity to ask, âMs. Evans, shouldnât we adjust our strategy? The plan of waiting for our ambassadorâs webseries to go viral has always been an uncertainty.â
Caroline fiddled with the pen in her hand and stayed silent.
Meanwhile, the heads of some other departments also brought up some suggestions. On the whole, they agreed with the marketing department head.
They wanted Caroline to switch up the strategy and use Laylaâs popularity to make some sales.
Finally, Caroline stopped spinning her pen and looked up at the others.
âOur online branding is a mess right now. If we push our products now, do you really think people will buy them?â
Her words shut everybody up.
She continued, âJust do your jobs for the next few days, and everything will be fine.â
After that, she walked straight out of the room.
Before she could take a few steps, she found Layla and Emery in the office giving out candy in celebration of their success.
Caroline strode expressionlessly into her office on her high heels.
Seeing Caroline walk in, Cheryl closed the door and lamented, âHow could they just let those people inside? Donât they know how to stop strangers from coming in?â
Just as Caroline was about to speak, the door was pushed open, and Layla and Emery waltzed in.
Caroline looked up slightly to meet Laylaâs gaze.
âCaroline, you must have watched my live stream last night, right? If you didnât, itâs a great shame.â
Caroline only smiled shallowly. âGet out!â
âAngry already? How do you expect to be a business owner if you canât handle losing?â Layla said tauntingly.
Cheryl said, âGet out. Are you hard of hearing?â
âDonât be so anxious.â
Layla pushed Cheryl aside and came to stand before the desk. She spread her palms out on the deskâs surface and glared coldly at Caroline.
âCaroline, I want to see how long you can grit your teeth through this. Hear me: this seat belongs to me, and Iâll take it back.â
Despite this, Caroline maintained a sedate smile that didnât waver.
Layla gritted her teeth. âLetâs go.â
Emery sashayed out behind Layla as they both left Evans Group.
When they got into the elevator, Laylaâs features immediately twisted. âF*** her. How dare she act all high and mighty when theyâre going to be ruined?â
Emery quickly went along with her. âLayla, she wonât know fear until she faces the consequences.
Just you wait. A few more days, and sheâll come to you crying and begging.â
Hearing this, Layla regained her smile.
At the same time, in Carolineâs office, Cheryl was in a tizzy.
âCaroline, after last night, all the staff are losing hope. If we donât do something quick, all the money invested will be gone.
Caroline chuckled. âCheryl, have you heard of this?â
âHeard of what?â
âStay the course.â Caroline flipped through the books on her desk.
âIf weâre swayed by any small things that happen and donât trust in our own marketing decisions, that proves that weâre being shortsighted. All we can do now is wait.â
âButâ¦â
Caroline waved a hand. âLetâs keep waiting. Consider this a method of training yourself. Once you survive this, youâll be one step closer to success.â
