Chapter 415
Bogus Billionaire
Caroline hugged Gwenâs waist, nuzzling her face in her neck. âItâs a good thing youâre around, The two friends talked some more before falling asleep.
However, in the room right next to theirs, Adrian couldnât sleep at all. Carolineâs absentminded look filled his entire mind.
Although she hadnât said why she was acting this way, his intuition told him that it had something to do with her husband.
Adrian got even more jealous at the thought of that man and couldnât sleep. That man had the worldâs greatest blessing, yet he didnât know how to appreciate her!
Meanwhile, at the Collins familyâs home in Easton, Jane whispered, âWhat do you mean you canât find them? How can you not find three living people?â
The butler also lowered his voice. âMrs. Collins, weâve already sent everyone we could, but we still canât find anyone. Was⦠was there maybe an error in your information?â
Jane couldnât resist raising her voice. âNo way thereâs an error! I went to get these three people â¦â
Noticing her mistake, she quickly covered her mouth and lowered her voice again.
âNo way. It canât be wrong. I heard these men often showed up at this bar and slept with many girls.
Theyâve always been fine, so how could they suddenly go missing?â
Drugging Caroline had been Jane and Daphneâs idea, To avoid bringing attention to themselves, they had even hired three people in the bar who had nothing to do with them and were experts in this sort of thing.
They thought they had this plan in the bag and that they would get Carolineâs nude photos in a few days. They had never expected the three men to vanish from the face of the earth without a trace.
In a moment of desperation, Jane had asked the butler to investigate the three men. She couldnât let Howard find out what she had done.
Just then, the butlerâs phone rang. He said apologetically, âLet me take this, Mrs Collins â
Jane waved her hand impatiently at his words.
The butler answered the call. The caller said something that made the butler even gloomier He immediately hung up the phone and looked at Jane solemnly.
Jane thought it was workârelated and said unhappily, âJust goâ¦â
âMrs. Collins⦠Theyâve found the three men.â
Janeâs eyes lit up. âWhere are they? Bring them to see me immediately.â
The butlerâs face turned pale. âIâm afraid I canât do that.â
Jane frowned. âWhat? If you canât do such a simple thing, whatâs the point of having you around?â
âItâs not that.â
The butler explained, âTâtheyâve been exiled to Xyridonia. I even heard that their eyes had been gouged out. Iâm not sure if they lost their eyes before or after they went into Xyridonia.â
Janeâs face turned pale, and she slumped back in her chair.
Xyridonia was an uncivilized country filled with barbarians. If three civilized people were thrown in that lionâs den, they would probably end up as a pile of bones.
âHow did this happen?â she asked in shock. They had been perfectly fine, so how had they ended up in Xyridonia?
The butler shook his head with lingering fear. âWeâre not clear about the details yet. But Iâm guessing they may have upset someone they shouldnât have.â
Jane let out a shaky breath. The three men had done plenty of vile things, so it probably had nothing to do with her attacking Caroline.
At the thought of this, she slowed down her rapid heartbeat. It was just a pity that her brilliant plan had fallen apart so soon.
