“Kirk?” After a brief feeling of astonishment, Caroline felt rage surge through her. How had he known that she was here?

Kirk smiled as he looked kindly at Adrian, who was behind Caroline. But there was a violent wave buried deep in his eyes.

Caroline replied, “Gwen is drunk. I want to stay and take care of her.”
