Chapter 273
Bogus Billionaire
Evans Group was a small company with a total of six shareholders. The company itself was the largest sharonder, but because s member of the Evans family was running for the position, Gan, the previous CEO, had no say in the situatio Only the five other shareholders could make the final decision. And among these five people, two were on Eddyâs side, in other words, they were definitely on I aylaâs side.
Hence, Caroline had to convince the other three people to support her. Thatâs why she had gotten the real ledgers. They could recover the money people had cheated them out of with these ledgers too.
Caroline had just finished tidying up when she got a call from Gwen.
âCarol, Iâll go wedding dress shopping with you later,â
âDonât you have work? Caroline asked.
âI have a twoâhour break at noon. So, we can go over and have a lookâ
âAll right.â
Caroline had no hopes for the store Cook had introduced, but she still said, âIâll call you when I get off work at noon âOkay.â
Soon enough, Caroline and Gwen met at Merry Color.
Caroline was surprised to see that Sean was also there. She asked, âWhy is Sean here too?â
Gwen said with a look of disgust, âHe insisted on coming. He said he wanted to see you in your wedding dress in advance and show it off to Kirk.â
After that, she leaned over to Caroline and lowered her voice. âMen are so childish.â
Caroline smiled and didnât refute, Gwen was correct; men could be really childish sometimes.
The three entered the bridal boutique together. The clerk immediately greeted them, âWelcome! Which one of you ladies needs a wedding dress?â
Caroline said, âThat would be me.â
The clerk looked at Carolineâs figure and immediately smiled. She praised her, saying. âYou have such a good figure, maâam. Any wedding dress will look good on you.â
Caroline smiled and walked into the store under the clerkâs guidance.
She had to admit that this place deserved to be the most popular bridal boutique among the upper class. The wedding dresses in the shop were boldly designed. They were novel and exciting.
Each dress looked brilliant and elegant. She could tell they were valuable. A wedding dress like this could reflect the identity and status of its wearer. No one from the upper class would dislike that.
Sean wasnât interested in clothes. He wanted to see Gwen wear a wedding dress. But he remembered what Kirk said about a groom seeing his bride in a wedding dress, so he simply said, âIâll buy you both some milkshakes.â
With that, he slipped out of the bridal boutique..
Caroline joked, âIt seems you dragged him here by force.â
âNo way.â
Gwen argued, âHe really wanted to come here.â
âHe came here for you.â
Caroline moved closer to Gwen and whispered, âMs. Jameson, shouldnât you end this probation soon?â
With burning cheeks, Gwen protested, â1âIâm still thinking about it. Carol why does it feel like you keep taking his side? Did he price you or something?â
Just as Caroline was about to answer, a crowd of bodyguards rushed in from outside the door. The bodyguardâs leader said arrogantly to the clerk âClear out all your customers!â
