Love at the Wrong Table Emmanuel Lowe Chapter 479
Love at the Wrong Table
Chapter 479
âWâWhat are you doing?â
Ann
At this point, Mackenzie was practically glaring at Emmanuel. Even though he
hadnât done anything wrong, he withdrew his hand in guilt.
âMackenzie, I was just helping you to soothe the discomfort.â
âYou what?â She wouldnât have suspected him if he didnât say such words.
However, doubts began to grow within her after hearing his explanation.
Is there a way to clear my name? Emmanuel was rather helpless.
Mackenzie immediately sat up and covered her chest with both hands.
However, her slender hands could barely cover her ample chest. Her
attempts to cover them only managed to ensnare Emmanuel.
âDonât worry, Mackenzie.â He then explained, âTobias was the one who
removed your coat. Rest assured. I arrived just in time, and he hadnât done
anything.â
To his surprise, she was worried about something else. âWhy is my dress
torn?â
âHuh? It-â He was at a loss for words..
His response alerted her. Was he trying to fulfill the promise he made with
Grandpa? I canât allow that! I wonât do it with an idiot like him, especially when
Iâm passed out!
âMackenzie, I didnât tear your dress-â
Emmanuelâs explanation was cut short when the sharpâeyed woman looked
at his belt.
Damn it! He belatedly realized that a piece of fabric from her dress was
clipped between the buckle of his belt.
âHow do you explain this?â Mackenzie stared at Emmanuel coldly.
I thought he was better than this. But denying his doings?
She looked down further, only to find that even her pantyhose and lingerie
were showing.
âPervert!â
âWhat? No-â
The misunderstanding embarrassed Emmanuel. âItâs not what it looks like,
Mackenzie. I wasnât trying to make a move on you!â
Emmanuel was sad to find that his words only fueled her anger. However, he
couldnât find the right words to explain things to her.
Mackenzie stared back at him in silence. Go on. Iâm expecting your excuses.
What is he thinking? He doesnât have to do it this way if he wants to sleep with
âFine. I accidentally tore your dress, but it wasnât because I wanted to make a
move on you.â
Emmanuel decided to come clean to her, but she was glaring daggers at
him. Mackenzie was obviously mad, so he made up an excuse.
âThatâs not what I mean, Mackenzie. Iâll never deny the fact that I want to sleep
with you, but I donât want to do it when you are unconscious. I want to do it
when youâre awake and are in the mood toânâno! Forget about it! Thatâs not
what I want to say!â
Her mouth hung agape at his words. â
So, he did have some perverted thoughts, huh? Tobias is better than him.
Emmanuel slapped himself. I shouldâve been frank with her. Now I made
myself a pervert. Itâs embarrassing.
Mackenzie was a perceptive woman. Emmanuelâs dull demeanor was solid
evidence that he didnât have the guts and thoughts to make a move on her
when she passed out.
Mackenzie finally remembered the point of the meeting today, so she asked,
âEmmanuel, what happened to Tobias?â
She was curious to learn Emmanuelâs reaction after he found that Tobias had
attempted to make a move on her.
