Love at the Wrong Table Emmanuel Lowe Chapter 445
Love at the Wrong Table
Chapter 445
The man quickly stammered an explanation, âMs. Quillen, it was your⦠your
grandpa who sent me. He wanted me to observe and confirm if you and Mr.
Lowe couldnât resist each other and⦠well, you know, get intimate last night.â
The situation was becoming increasingly awkward.
Emmanuel couldnât help but look at Mackenzie, realizing that her grandpaâs
desire for great-grandchildren was more fervent than he had anticipated.
Mackenzie grew even more frustrated and snapped, âRun back where you
came from and tell Grandpa that if he ever dares to pull a stunt like this
again, I will definitely divorce Emmanuel!â Emmanuel thought to himself, Why
is this my problem? Iâm innocent!
The man nodded in agreement but continued to stare at Mackenzie as she
entered the car, trying to determine from her walking style whether she was
still a virgin. Alas, no matter how he observed, her walking appeared normal
and not indicative of any discomfort.
As Terence woke up in the morning at the Quillen residence, Alfred handed
2/5
him a mouthwash and whispered, âMr. Quillen, it seems that Ms. Quillen is still
a virgin. She walks normally, and it appears that Emmanuel didnât take
advantage of the situation last night!â
Terence let out a deep sigh. âIs that guy even a real man? I might have to
consider replacing him judging from the situation. Itâs been over two months,
and is it really that difficult for him to handle a woman?â
Alfred quickly smiled and said, âMs. Quillen is not just any ordinary woman. Please be patient a little longer!â
âPatience can be maddening. I donât know how much longer my old bones
can hold on!â Terence expressed his growing anxiety. âI understand that
Mackenzie is no ordinary woman, but do you think Emmanuel is an ordinary
man?â
Alfred was taken aback by the question and responded swiftly, âThat guy is definitely extraordinary. I had a professional tailing Mackenzie, but Emmanuel immediately noticed and confronted him. Emmanuelâs skills are on par with those of a martial arts grandmaster!â
Terence chuckled upon hearing that. âThatâs precisely why I insisted on
having Mackenzie marry him. I can have peace of mind knowing heâs there to
protect her!â
âI see.â Alfred nodded, indicating his understanding of Terenceâs intentions.
âI canât even uncover Emmanuelâs background! All I know is that he served in
the military for eight years before retiring. My bet is heâs the Northern Wolf!â
Terence shared his thoughts openly. Alfred had served Terence for over 30
years and was a trusted confidant who could be relied upon with any
information.
Alfred inhaled sharply upon hearing the revelation. âNo wonder Emmanuelâs
skills are so exceptional. If thatâs the case, he is truly deserving of Ms. Quillen.
Having him join the family will significantly boost our strength!â
âIndeed.â Terence nodded. Then, he instructed Alfred, âSince Mackenzie and
Emmanuelâs relationship has entered a stable period, itâs time to let him
assist Mackenzie.â
Alfred nodded at Terenceâs order. The Quillen family controlled a variety of
industries, so even though Mackenzie had outstanding abilities, she still
needed a man to support her.
On the other hand, after dropping Mackenzie off at work, Emmanuel returned
to the hospital and ran into Darren. Darren wore an expression of disbelief as
he coldly approached and asked, âWhy are you still here in our hospital?â
Emmanuel understood the implication behind Darrenâs words and furrowed
his brow slightly. Had he been fired during the time he hadnât been at the
hospital for nearly half a month?
âWhat brings you here?â At that moment, Frederick approached the two. He
wore a complex expression as he walked up to Emmanuel and said excitedly,
âThey said you left Yeringham and would never return! But I donât believe it.
Youâre not the type to be a coward!â
Emmanuel was taken aback. He wondered who had spread rumors about
him while he was away. He had never stated that he would never return to
Yeringham!
âNow that youâre back, you should go and speak to Mr. Leonhart to reclaim
your position!â Frederick quickly reminded Emmanuel. Unfortunately, Darren
chimed in with a disparaging sneer, âDonât bother. Beacon Hospital can no
longer accommodate you. Youâll only end up humiliating yourself if you go
looking for Mr. Leonhart.â
