Chapter 1507: Yugi, was it possible for me to work here?
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
Being Pennyâs assistant wasnât Zorenâs dream. His dream was to spend every second of his life with his wife. He wanted to watch her at every step, listen to her every breath, count how many times she blinked each day â just to marvel at how amazing she was.
But he couldnât do that, mainly because Atlas would kill him.
Accepting that wasnât easy, and he ended up secretly resenting her four assistants. Just when he thought he was slowly coming to terms with the fact that these four would be helpful to his wife, he walked into an unforgivable scene.
"You guys, we should eat together next..." Penny trailed off when the door suddenly flew open. "Huh? Renren?"
Standing in the doorway was Zoren, his towering figure filling the space. Everyone paused, staring at each other with equal surprise.
Penny and her four assistants, mid-chew, looked at Zoren with puzzled expressions. They stopped chewing, their attention fixed on the person in the doorway.
Zoren, on the other hand, just gazed at them. His eyes landed first on his wife, whose mouth was open, a spoon hovering just before it. Penny, too surprised to react, paused awkwardly. Hayley and Shawn had stuffed cheeks, but they stopped chewing, staring back at him. Patricia halted mid-bite of her cookie while Teddy, with nothing in his mouth, looked back at him wide-eyed.
Zoren shifted his gaze back to Penny. "Youâre... okay...?"
"Huh?"
"..." Zoren pressed his lips together, the image of his wife leaning on his shoulder, expressing how lucky she was to have him, shattered.
Zoren had come here to cheer up his wife, knowing sheâd been a little worried about some things. But it seemed someoneâfour people, to be exactâhad already done the job.
"Eat well," he said, before turning to leave. But before closing the door, he glanced back at Penny. "Letâs talk later."
Penny: "..."
The others: "???"
Slowly, the four of them cast their eyes at Penny, confusion and shock etched across their faces.
"Uh, Miss Penny..." Hayley cleared her throat after swallowing her food. "Isnât that... CEO Pierson?"
Teddy blinked. "Thatâs him. No mistake about it."
"Was he in your schedule today?" Shawn asked, furrowing his brows in concern. "Did I miss it too?"
The four had memorized Pennyâs schedule for the entire month. Even though Hayley and Shawn worked in the office, they were still expected to know her appointments.
Could they have missed something this important?
"Uh, donât bother." Penny waved dismissively as she stood up, sauntering toward her desk. "He probably dropped by because heâs worried. Itâs not official business. Iâll just message him. Donât worry."
As Penny casually sent her husband a message, the four exchanged glances before returning their attention to her back.
âMessage him? I didnât know they were that close,â thought Shawn, while Hayley furrowed her brows.
âIs it really fine?â
âConsidering her brother works at Pierson Corporation, and Prime Group has a good relationship with them, they mustâve built a friendship,â Teddy thought, nodding to himself. âBesides, with Miss Pennyâs standing, it shouldnât be surprising she was on that kind of level with Zoren Pierson.â
Patricia, however, tilted her head, blinking repeatedly as she searched her memory for information about Penny and Zoren. As far as Patricia knew, Penny and Zoren were childhood friends. After all, Patricia had once accepted a dangerous gig and deceived Zoren Pierson.
Upon recalling the memory, Patricia winced and shook her head. âThe past is the past! Let it stay where it belongs!â
Penny turned and faced the four of them, grinning as she walked back to her seat.
"Letâs finish this meal."
As she resumed eating, the four couldnât help but exchange unreadable glances. They were still startled by Zorenâs unexpected appearance, but Penny just continued eating.

Meanwhile, in Prime Groupâs Cyber Security Department...
Yugi collapsed onto the soft couch in his office, sinking into it as he lay back. Thanks to Pennyâs marketing of Citadel, Yugi and his team had been burning the candle at both ends, working nonstop.
During the event, Citadel performed flawlessly. But that was because Penny had already tracked down the "X wannabe" and sent a signal to the right people to raid him. She made it seem like everything went perfectly, but there were still issues during the launch. Of course, they were not about to disclose that as that would be fatal to their company.
"At this point, I might just move into my office," he grumbled, closing his eyes. "She should just lend me that penthouse."
Yugiâs expression soured as he thought about how nice it would be to have a room in the office. But what really bothered him was that, during the buildingâs renovation, Penny had asked if he wanted an extra room. Heâd quickly declined, saying he needed a life outside the company.
How he wished he could go back and slap himself for that decision.
"But then again..." Yugi gazed at the ceiling, the bags under his eyes darker than usual. Despite his exhaustion, the corners of his mouth twitched upward. "Citadel cleared all the tests."
A bubble of hope swelled in his chest. They were close. Just a few more tests, and they could roll it out for Prime Group before the official launch. Once that happened, he would ask for a month-long vacation and enjoy some drinks on a yacht in the tropics.
"Hehe... hehe heh..."
But just as an eerie chuckle escaped his lips, a light knock on the door interrupted him. Turning toward it, he spoke, "Come in."
He expected it to be someone from his team or another department. Just as he started to look away from the door, he spotted the end of a sleeveâand his face twitched.
Without a word, Zoren entered, walking toward him and sitting down across from him.
"..." Yugi blinked, staring at Zoren. The latter remained silent.
Zorenâs expression darkened, his frown deepening, lost in thought. After a moment, he lifted his eyes to meet Yugiâs.
"Yugi, was it possible for me to work here?"
