Chapter 242
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Theodore clutched the pillow beneath him, his brows furrowing. âWhy are you here?â
At first, he thought he was imagining things. How could Anthonyâs hands feel like a womanâs? It all
felt surreal, as though the pain had triggered hallucinations.
Sensing the woman behind him wasnât responding, Theodore let out at wry smile. Of course, it was
just his imagination. There was no way she would be here; she was probably with Sebastian right
now.
Realizing it was a hallucination, Theodore stopped talking.
Just as the person behind him finished applying the medicine, a
womanâs voice broke the silence.
âAll done. Let me wrap your wounds with some gauze. Sit up for a
moment.â
Theodore froze, enduring the pain as he quickly sat up and turned to see the woman behind him.
Rosalie was wearing a light yellow dress, her hair styled in a bunâshe looked very sweet and
innocent. If she went to a high school, people might mistake her for a student.
Theodore was stunned. âWhy are you here?â
âIâ¦â Rosalie hesitated, then lifted her chin slightly and said, âI didnât finish packing my things before.
I came to get the rest, and I saw Anthony here. He mentioned you were still around.â
Her explanation sounded a bit forced.
âReally? So, you came to pack your things.â
Seeing her, Theodore initially thought she was worried about him; but now, he realized he was
mistaken.
Theodore berated himself inwardly for overthinking. Rosalie wasnât here for him, she was here to
pack her things.
That was all.
âGo ahead and pack your stuff. Why come to see me?â Theodore said, almost pouting as he lay
back on the bed..
âI saw Grandma today. I know what you told her, and I know she hit
you.â
âOh, really?â Theodore turned his head slightly. Was she here to pack her things, or did she know
he was beaten and used that as an
excuse to check on him?
âIf you had left when I did yesterday, you wouldnât have gotten hurt. Why did you go back in?â
Rosalieâs voice carried a hint of reproach.
Theodore seemed irritated. He had gone in to speak up for her and got beaten for it, and now, she
was blaming him?
He snorted. âYou always think Iâm not respectful enough to Grandma. Now that Iâve finally done
something respectful, youâre still not satisfied?â
Rosalie frowned. âWhen did I ever say you werenât respectful to
Grandma?â
She had never said anything like that. She had never even thought of
it!
âYou never said it, but you think it!â
Hearing this, Rosalie felt a surge of anger. âI never said or thought it.
20
Stop imagining things!â
âAm I always imagining things? Was it my imagination that you spent the night at Sebastianâs?â
He had seen it with his own eyes!
âDidnât you tell Grandma that the thing with Sebastian was at misunderstanding? You said that
yourself. Why bring it up now?â
Rosalie said.
âI told Grandma that to calm her down, but that doesnât mean I believe thereâs nothing between you
and Sebastian. You lied to me! Thatâs a fact!â he snarled.
The matter seemed to be a sore spot for him.
She spent her birthday with Sebastian. They had been together for a
while.
âWhat did I lie to you about?â Rosalie snapped, throwing the cotton swab and tweezers into the
medical tray with a sharp clatter.
