Chapter 145
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
âItâs fine, itâs just a shirt.â
Sebastian smiled. He winced in pain as he accidentally pulled the wound at the corner of his lips.
Rosalie thought that his face looked a little swollen. âDo you need to go to the hospital to get your
injuries checked?â
âItâs all right. Just some superficial wounds. Iâll be fine in a few days.â
âNo way! You have to at least apply some ointment. You canât just leave it be. Do you have a firstâ
aid kit at home? Iâll help you treat your
wounds.â
Sebastian was about to reject her, but allowing her some distraction from her bad mood seemed
like a good idea. With that, he nodded
and asked his servant to fetch the firstâaid kit.
Rosalie opened the firstâaid kit, and began treating Sebastianâs wounds. She went about the task
very carefully, for fear of hurting
him.
They sat in close proximity to each other, their breaths mingling.
Rosalie was purely trying to treat his wounds, but Sebastian kept his gaze locked on her.
Rosalie fixed her eyes on the wound at the corner of Sebastianâs lips,
and couldnât help but think of Theodore. He was injured too, and she even slapped him.
But what did she have to worry about? Cynthia was with him.
The thought made Rosalieâs hands start to tremble.
âWhatâs the matter?â Sebastian asked, worried.

His voice forced her back to re: ty, and that was when she realized she was too close for comfort
with him. She immediately leaned back, pulling the distance between them wider.
âIâm fine. Iâm done treating your wound.â
âThank you,â Sebastian said. He instructed one of his servants to take
the firstâaid kit away. âWhat do you want for lunch?â
âI think Iâd better head back,â Rosalie said with an awkward smile.
âGo back after lunch. Otherwise, youâll be having lunch alone and so would I. Just take it as a
simple meal between friends. Donât forget, you do owe me a meal.â
He stated it matterâofâfactly, and Rosalie had no reason to reject him.
She nodded.
âAll right, then.â
âWhat do you like to eat? Iâll have the kitchen prepare it.â
âIâm not picky. I eat anything as long as itâs not too greasy. Greasy food gives me gastric problems,â
she said, rubbing her belly.
âAll right, I got it.â
Sebastian instructed the kitchen to prepare lunch, before settling down on the couch with Rosalie.
He saw how melancholic Rosalie looked and wanted to say
something, but eventually decided against it. Instead, he simply sat quietly next to her.
They remained silent for a long time, until Rosalie broke the silence. âI
was too rash.â
âWhat? If youâre referring to what happened today, I think anyone. would have done what you did.â

Rosalie took a deep breath.
âBefore Theodore and I got married, I knew that he loved Cynthia. I thought that with that woman
gone, he would slowly forget about her. Who knew that theyâve been keeping in contact. We were
married for only one yearâ¦â
Rosalie looked like she was on the verge of tears as she spoke.
Sebastian immediately handed her a napkin.
âThank you, but Iâm not crying this time,â Rosalie said, feeling as though she was all out of tears.
She pulled out her resident register, and gently ran her fingers over the cover.
âI should have divorced him there and then instead of saying I wonât out of spite. Was I being
foolish?â
âNo,â Sebastian said as he gently patted her shoulders. He said comfortingly, âI know that you were
overwhelmed with anger at that point. You didnât want them looking so smug. If I were in your
shoes, I might do the exact same thing. Itâs really not your fault, so please donât blame yourself.
They were the ones who took things too far.â
