Chapter 135
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Theodore remained uncontactable over the next two days. Thankfully, Rosalie took the resident
register from Rebecca on Friday and
managed to lie to her that she hadnât had the time to replace her ID card.
The next two days were the weekends. She could tell Rebecca that the office was closed, and thus
she couldnât get her ID card replaced
yet.
Rosalie tried every way to get in contact with Theodore over these two days, but all her efforts were
in vain. She called him countless times, but his phone remained resolutely switched off. She
couldnât imagine how far his relationship with Cynthia had progressed, to the point of them breaking
contact with the rest of the world.
Left with no choice, Rosalie couldnât only wait in anxiety and
heartbreak.
Monday came by, and Rebecca called her first thing in the morning. She cut straight to the chase.
âRose, get your ID card replaced today and return the resident register to me this afternoon. Donât
drag this any longer.â
Rebecca spoke solemnly, as if worried that something might happen with the resident register in
Rosalieâs hands.
Rosalie had just woken up, and was still in a daze. âGrandma, why are you rushing me?â
âI have to rush you. Youâre so young, so why are you so slow in doing things? You should have
gotten your ID card replaced on Friday
instead of dragging things out like this. If you delay any further, Iâll help you replace your ID card
myself.â
Rosalie jolted up from bed. âay, Grandma, I got it. Iâll get my ID card. replaced today.â
Rebecca was going to get suspicious if she continued delaying.
matters. She was a smart woman, after all.
âQuick, get it done soon and send the resident register back before five in the evening, got it?â
âYes, Grandma
All of Rosalieâs little tricks were rendered useless before Rebecca,
and she could only agree obediently.
After ending the call, Rosalie texted Theodore again. âDid you see my text?! Grandma wants the
resident register back. Reply to me, please!â
She had no idea how many text messages she had sent Theodore
over the past few days.
After getting out of bed and washing up, Rosalie received a call right after breakfast. She thought it
must be Theodore and rushed over to answer the call, but it was Sebastian.
She couldnât help but feel disappointed, but she answered the call anyway. âHello.â
âRosalie, do you feel better?â
âYes, I do. Whatâs up?â
âDid you forget that you owe me a meal? Do you have time this
afternoon?â
âThis afternoon,
âIs it inconvenient?â
âOh, I â
20
âWhat happened? You sound bothered,â he asked, feeling concerned.
Rosalie suddenly fell silent, not knowing what to say.
âDoes it have something to do with Theodore again? You can talk to me about it if you donât mind. I
might have some ideas for you.
Rosalie sighed. She really was in need of someone to talk to. âI finally managed to get our resident
register from Grandma so we can file for divorce, but I canât contact him no matter how hard I try. I
feel so anxious right now. Iâm sorry, but I wonât be able to have lunch with you today.â
âItâs fine. You mean that you have the resident register, but heâs vanished into thin air and you canât
contact him?â
âYes. Even his assistant canât get to him, saying that he went for a holiday, and broke off all contact
with the rest of the world. Iâve tried many ways to find him, but they were all in vain.â
âAre you in a huge rush? What if you wait for him to return from his holiday?â Sebastian asked
âI canât,â Rosalie said with a helpless sigh. âGrandma keeps our resident register, and sheâs been
rushing me to return it. She doesnât know Iâm taking it to file for divorce. I lied to her that I need it to
replace my ID card. She gave me a deadline to return the register by five in the evening, and Iâm out
of time.â
The helplessness in Rosalieâs voice told Sebastian that she was feeling very anxious, and wanted
to file for a divorce from Theodore as soon as possible.
After a pause, he said, âRosalie, letâs meet up. I know some friends who might be of help.â
