Chapter 1250
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
The maid brought some soup and fed some to the dazed Jeremy. Jeremy took two sips and waved his
hands, indicating he did not want any more.
The maid obediently placed the soup down and excused herself right away.
Pamela sat next to Jeremy and looked at him dejectedly. âDrink the soup and sober up with a bath.
Getting wasted is hardly the kind of thing a grown man should be doing!â
Jeremy could feel a headache coming. He leaned his head on the back of the sofa and placed one arm
over his forehead to cover his eyes. He ignored what his grandmother had said to him.
When Pamela saw a flickering light in his trouser pocket, she reached out to take his cell phone. It had
been put on silent.
The caller ID displayed an unsaved phone number, and Pamelaâs eyes lit up as she answered the call.
âAre you home yet, Jeremy?â On the other end of the line was Sophia, who asked concernedly.
The glow in Pamelaâs eyes dimmed considerably, and she replied, âHeâs home, Sophia. Donât worry.
Get some rest.â
Sophia was a little surprised when she heard an old womanâs voice. Nevertheless, she smiled sensibly
and said, âOkay, Grandma Pamela! You should go to bed soon, too!â
After ending the call, Pamela placed her hand on her forehead and said, âWhatâs going on in your mind
right now, Jeremy? Are you going to accept Sophia, or are you planning to bring Corinne home?â
Jeremy spoke emotionlessly. âWere you expecting Corinne to call and show concern about me just
now?â
Pamela was silent. He was right; she did think that the call was from Corinne.
Jeremy sneered. âShe wonât come here even if I die.â
âCorinne isnât heartless!â Pamela refuted. âI can see that you still care a lot about her, and I think you
should find a chance to explain things clearly to her. She mustâve misunderstood your relationship with
Sophia.â
âMisunderstand? If she thought it was a misunderstanding, she shouldâve been angry at me and
questioned me about it so I could explain to her! Disappearing silently for half a year was hardly a
reasonable response! She even wore a mask when she met me because she was so afraid that Iâd
recognize her and bother her! In the end, Iâm nothing more than a dispensable commodity to her!â
Jeremy smiled sullenly.
âIâm sorry that I still have to let you worry about my problems. Iâll take care of everything. You should
get some sleep.â Jeremy got up, took his cell phone, and went upstairs sluggishly.
Francine walked over with pursed lips and handed Pamela some soup to soothe herself. âThis
misunderstanding between Jeremy and Corinne is too strong!â
Pamela sighed helplessly and sipped some soup. âHow was everything? Did you contact Annie to ask
if Corinne is all right?â
âI already did,â said Francine. âAnnie told me that sheâs staying over at Corinneâs place. Corinne is
doing just fine there.â
