Chapter 1142
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Francine felt aggrieved but did not dare to talk back to her grandmother. She fiddled with the food on
her plate with a fork, and the fork slipped out of her hand.
She was already in a bad mood, and her mood worsened when the fork fell. She muttered something
to herself and was about to bend down to pick it up when Chester bent down to take it before could.
Since the fork was already dirty as it fell on the floor, Chester put it aside and handed his clean one to
her. âHere. I havenât used this yet.â
Francine blushed at Chesterâs gesture and thanked him.
Chester did not reply and got up before politely bidding Pamela goodbye. He then picked up his
backpack and walked out.
As soon as Francine saw that the apple of her eye had left, she felt a little downcast and got up to
chase after him.
She ran out to the yard and finally caught up with Chester. She stood in front of him and asked
uneasily, âWhy did you leave without eating? Are you angry? Do you think Iâm in the wrong?â
Chester had an insipid expression as he answered, âYour familyâs affairs have nothing to do with me. I
donât have any particular view to say about what happened.â
Though Chesterâs answer suggested he was not angry, Francine did not think that was so. As stubborn
as she was in front of other people, she discarded her attitude and lowered her head to explain, âBut
Aaronâs a jerk. I just couldnât hold my anger back earlier. I hate it when he bullies other girls!â
Chester could not bear to ignore her when she admitted her mistake to him like that.
âYou donât need to explain anything to me. This involves your family, and I have no right to say
anything. But, I do think you should control your temper, Francine. If you show your dissatisfaction all
the time and speak your mind without any filter, society will give you a lot of flak in the future.â
Francine blinked in confusion. âBut I donât have to go to work in the future. No oneâs going to do
anything to me if I stay at home!âBooks Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books

Chester was a little surprised at that answer. He smiled self-deprecatingly and said, âYouâre right. Your
familyâs financial background is secure enough that you donât need to work for the rest of your life.
Youâll always be protected by your family. Iâm just thinking too much.â He walked past Francine and
continued toward the gate.
Francine felt very uneasy, so she ran up to him and grabbed his clothes. âYouâre right, Chester. Iâll
change my temper! Iâll learn to control it! Please donât be angry at me.â
Chester felt helpless. âIâm not angry. Let me go!â
Francine asked carefully, âThen will you be coming over to help me with my homework tomorrow?â
Chester nodded. âIâll keep my end of the promise since itâs already been agreed upon that Iâll help you
to finish everything.â
Francine sighed in relief and released him. âIâll see you off!â She wanted the family driver to send him
home, but because he was an independent person who stuck to his principles, he would be unhappy if
he was driven home every time. Once or twice was more than enough.
Since Francine insisted on seeing him off, Chester allowed her to accompany him to the gate.
A row of bodyguards stood guard at the gate. They had a serious look on their faces, and it was a little
stressful to be in their presence.
Chester looked at the bodyguards and asked with a frown, âIs your brother treating Corinne as some
kind of prisoner?â
Francine looked helplessly at the bodyguards in front of the house. âI have no idea whatâs going on. It
wasnât like this yesterday, but then they had an argument, and it was already like this earlier today!â
The thought of Jeremy left Chester feeling some animosity. He said coldly, âI hope your family will treat
Corinne better. Sheâs a good girl!â
After some hesitance, Francine eventually asked him, âIâve always wanted to ask you something,
Chester. Do you like Corinne?â
Chester kept quiet. He slung his backpack over his left shoulder and left without even turning to look at
her.
