Chapter 1134
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Aaron saw the look in Corinneâs eyes and knew what she was hinting at. Smiling, he said, âWhy, Miss
Corinne. Weâve come to visit you, of course.â
âItâs been so long since we met, so we thought weâd drop by,â added Xante.
Both of them tacitly did not call her âBossâ.
âGreat. Youâve come just at the right time. I was feeling bored, but with you guys here, we can play
some bridge to kill time.â
âSure,â said Aaron with a smile.
âYay! Mister Aaron gave me half-day off, so I can play with you guys too. Iâve always wanted to learn
how to play bridge,â said Annie happily.
At that moment, Pamela came out of the kitchen with two maids.
âCorinne, I heard you have some friends over, so I made some snacks for them. Tell them to try it while
itâs still hot!â
However, Corinne made no move to do so, which was weird since she had always been respectful of
Pamela.
Annie quickly stood up and said, âThank you, Maâam. Thatâs very thoughtful of you.âBooks Chapters

Pamela smiled kindly at her. âYouâre Annie, right? Itâs been so long since you last dropped by that I
nearly donât even recognize you anymore. My, my, youâve certainly grown into a beautiful young lady.â
âYouâre too kind, Maâam,â said Annie, blushing.
Both Aaron and Xante got up to greet Pamela.
Since Pamela never met them before, she retained a little wariness when talking to them.
âYou two must be Corinneâs friends. Sorry about the security checks, but Jeremy is really worried about
Corinne getting hurt. Please donât take it personally,â she said politely.
Aaron smiled. âDonât worry. Itâs totally understandable.â
Xante said nothing.
Pamela gestured for the two maids to put down the snacks before sitting beside Corinne and Joey.
Only then did Annie, Aaron, and Xante sit.
âTry the snacks. I hope theyâre to your liking,â said Pamela politely. After that, she picked one of
Corinneâs favorites and passed it to her. âCorinne, this is your favorite strawberry cookie. Iâve made
extra for you.â
âThanks, but no thanks. I appreciate the gesture, but Iâm not in the mood to eat any sweet stuff at the
moment,â said Corinne coldly.
Pamelaâs hand paused. She did not get angry and passed the cookie to Joey instead. âHere, child. Try
this cookie, and let me know whether itâs good or not.â
Being a kid, Joey could not resist any sweet stuff, so he quickly took the cookie and ate it. Corinne
simply glanced at him and said nothing.
Since Pamela was there, Aaron and the rest of them found it awkward to talk about what they came for
so they all fell silent.
In the past, Pamela had never been the one to insert herself into Corinneâs friend group. She would go
back to her room after serving some snacks so that Corinne and her friend could talk more comfortably.
