Chapter 628
The Mysterious Billionaire and His Substitute Bride
When she returned home, Tasha filed for a divorce.
As Ethan had promised her, he hired the best lawyer to assist her with the divorce.
It didnât take long before Tasha successfully divorced Seth. Because she held an overwhelming advantage over him, she ended up getting more property than Seth had originally promised her.
Additionally, since she hadnât given birth to their baby yet, the court gave her sole custody of the child.
When everything was finally settled, Tasha invited Ethan and Janet to a fancy restaurant for a celebratory dinner.
âCheers!â
The three clinked glasses merrily.
Because she was pregnant, Tasha didnât have wine and instead was nursing a glass of orange juice.
With a smile, she sighed in relief and said, âFinally, it is over! I wonât have to worry about him finding me out anymore. These days, I had been worried sick! I couldâve died from anxiety!â
Janet was also happy for her. She raised her glass and clinked it with hers. âCheers to your freedom, Tasha!â
Tasha grinned from ear to ear. Then she turned to Ethan and said sincerely, âThank you so much for helping me. Without you, I wouldnât have been able to take Seth down on my own.â
Ethan nodded and humbly added, âIf it werenât for your help, I wouldnât have been able to pin Seth down for his crimes.â
Janet smiled and reached for Ethanâs hand, squeezing it gently. âWe should be the ones thanking you.
Without you, we wouldnât have been able to defeat Seth so easily.â
Tasha chuckled. âThis serves him right. If he hadnât been so ruthless, I wouldnât have done this to him.â
âNow youâre the biggest winner, arenât you? The property he left you is more than enough for you and your child to live a happy life, you lucky lady!â Janet teased Tasha playfully.
âWell, actually most of his assets are under investigation now, so there might not be much left afterwards. I canât count on the money he left me. Moreover, I feel like a career is calling me. Truth be told, I wanted to treat you two to dinner today because I have one more thing I wanted to ask from youâ¦â Tasha looked at Janet expectantly, waiting for her answer.
Janet couldnât figure out what she was building up to.
âWhat is it?â
âI want to go back to the design industry after I give birth to the baby, but Iâve been a housewife for years now, isolated from society.â Tasha bit her lip anxiously. âI havenât designed a single thing in years.
I donât know if Iâll be able to pick up everything I learnt from college.â
It turned out that her request was no big deal. Without hesitation, Janet said, âDonât worry. Iâll help you.
I remember your works back thenâthey were all excellent. Iâm sure it wonât be that hard to get you started again.â
Encouraged, Tasha breathed a sigh of relief and said sincerely, âThank you, Janet.â
Life was so magical. Tasha had never thought that Janet and she would meet again years after graduation and even become friends.

After the meal, Ethan drove Janet to the airport. She had been going back and forth between Barnes and Seacisco recently.
Recalling what Tasha had said to her, Janet couldnât help but sigh. âTiffany was right. Men are indeed the stumbling block to a womanâs career.â
Ethan, who had pulled to a stop at a red light, looked at her sharply. He brought Janetâs hand to his mouth and nibbled on a finger. âMe included?â
With a smile, Janet raised her hand and patted Ethanâs cheek softly. âNo, my husband is the only exception.â
