Chapter 943
My Substitute CEO Bride
Chapter 943
Melodyâs grandfather had guarded Young Gardens for decades, and her family would pay homage to the deceased in Young Gardens
every year.
Nashâs fatherâs name was Wolfgang, and his wifeâs name was Ruby.
Seeing their initials, it was hard for Nash not to think of his parents.
Then, Stellar returned to Philixâs side.
Stellar cast Nash a look after seeing the two letters.
Nash noticed his gaze. Coupled with the fact that Meyer called him
Marshal when he rescued him last time, Nashâs suspicions were
confirmed.
âEvery time I come to Sagen, I would come to the town square to see
the clock tower!
âSo far, this is my fifth time!â
Philixâs tone was calm with no discernible emotion.
Felicity said curiously, âI heard you only came twice?â
Philix smiled. âThe first three times I came here was over 20 year ago. I bet you were just born back then.â
Felicity stuck her tongue out. âSo, can you tell us that story now?â
Philix lit another cigarette.
Nash looked at Philixâs broad back in silence, unable to sort out his

emotions.
Melody took out a cigarette and handed it to Nash. âYou can have a
cigarette too!â
Nash parted his lips and held the cigarette in his mouth. Melody took out a lighter from her poc
pocket.
âWhen did you steal my lighter?â Nash was surprised.
âYou dropped it on the couch, so I kept it for you!â Melody explained.
Nash lit the cigarette with his lighter and took a puff.
Meanwhile, Philix began telling his story.
âThis is a love story between a broke student and the daughter of a
rich family.
âLetâs call them Wolf and Rue!
âWolf was the heir of a hermetic family, and it was a rule in his family
that all members could not reveal their identities to the public. During
his time at university, he lived in poverty until he graduated, at which
point his family provided him with 300 million in capital to try his
hand at business!â
â300 million⦠to try⦠Are all hermetic families this generous?â F
interrupted Philixâs story.
âThis was 300 million 20 years ago!â Stellar added.
âGosh, the Snyder family barely had one million in assets 20 year ago!â Felicity was shocked.
âLet him continue!â Stellar smiled faintly.
Only then did Felicity realize that she had interrupted Philixâs story.. She lowered her head apologetically
âWolf was tired of living in poverty. When he suddenly received a huge sum of money and became the youngest millionaire in not only Sagen but the entire country, his mindset changed overnight.
âHe indulged in extravagance with his like-minded group of friends.
With his money, he thought that any business venture would be smooth sailing for him. Unfortunately, those good times did not last.
long.
âAfter his company was established, his so-called friends and his
rivals took everything from him!
âIt happened to be Valentineâs Day, and there was light rain. Many
couples were strolling in the rain at the town square while Wolf was
huddled under a newsstand, hungry and cold.â
When Philix said that, he turned to look at a newsstand not too far
ahead.
The newsstand was run down but not yet demolished.
It had been converted into a convenience store that sold dried
snacks.
All that was left of the awning was its rusty frame.
Nash and the others followed his gaze and looked over.
All of a sudden, they were transported back to 20 years ago.
The awning was still intact, and squatting under it was a skinny,

destitute young man.
âWolf watched all kinds of people walk past. He refused to reach his
hand out and ask for even a single penny as he held onto his last
shred of dignity!
âBelow the clock tower was a woman selling roses-Rue. That day,
she was holding an umbrella and wearing a white dress. Her hair was
braided on both sides, and she was looking around with her big, clear
eyes!
âThe moment Wolf laid eyes on her, he thought that she was the most
beautiful woman he had ever seen!
âHe just kept staring at her until she noticed him.
âWhen their eyes met, it seemed like time paused for an eternity.â
When Philix got to this point, he started smiling.
Nash and the others were completely immersed in the story.
They could almost picture the scene in their heads, of the poor young man and the rich heiress falling in love at first sight.
