Chapter 465
Tasting All My Mates
465-Challenging The Alpha King.
âExcuse me?â Janet rushed to her feet to let out a sigh of a complaint.
âCome on! We have marked each other, remember?â Corbin said to her, his lips forming a fake pout.
âYou forced me,â she stared at his face, her chest rising and falling with her raced breathing.
âCan you prove it?â Corbin shrugged.
âYou cannot come into my pack and threaten my Royal Beta.â Theo stretched his neck, silently waiting for Corbin to realize his presence, but when he didnât, he spoke up.
âI am not forcing her. It is a law that she must give me a chance before she even decides to reject me.
You see! This generation has made acceptance and rejection such a game that we had to take strong measures so that nobody just accepts someone and then rejects them the next day,â Corbin smiled, leaning to grab a grape and toss it in his mouth.
While doing so, he passed me a quick glance and then grinned.
âYou cannot take her away,â I joined Theo, who was closing his eyes and breathing heavily, repeating the process over and over again to calm himself down.
âYou are welcome to protest, but then the council will have to look into this matter. And ifâ,â he then turned to Theo, who seemed to be preparing to lose his temper, âAnyone disrespected the alpha king, they will be put behind the bars,â Corbin instantly reminded Theo what fate he will face if he didnât control his anger.
âAnyway, my dear Luna! Why donât you go pack your bags and meet me here? I am kind of in a rush,â
he shrugged, tapping her shoulder while she jumped away from him.
Dividing into pages now It was just a very scary moment for us. We couldnât go against him because the council will punish us and Corbin will get to take her away, anyway. As for Theo, a single word from him could get him in trouble because, being a Lycan, he will get judged heavily.
âActually!â Kellice yelled, getting attention for herself. She was the one who grabbed the file and started going through it.
âThe rule also says that there will be no transfer of the Luna if the Alpha King is preparing for a battle,â
Kellice mumbled, but Corbin started chuckling at her words.
âI believe you have never lived in a prestigious pack before, or else you would have known there is no war going on right now,â Corbin sighed at her, making fun of her knowledge.
Kellice only smiled at him before she st*ggered to her feet.
âIf only you were very aware of your surroundings, you would know. You are being challenged for your title, and you never found out?â Kellice asked him as she approached him.
âEasy there!â Corbin clenched his jaw. âYou are making claims,â he warned her, but her smile never faded away.
âI am just letting you know what is coming for you.â She folded her arms over her chest and deepened her eye contact with him, showing him she was not afraid of him.
âAha!â Corbin bobbed his head. âMay I have your details? I would love to read your documents and see where you have been living all this time. And also, please inform me of your status in the pack. He inquired because he suspected her identity.
A little panic struck me, but she looked unconcerned. Theo steadily leaped onto his feet and got in between the two, blocking Kellice from Corbinâs eyes.
âI, as an alpha, will take care of that. You should concentrate on your training,â Theo smirked. Watching him smile made Corbin angry. He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth angrily.
âFor what?â Corbin chose to ignore the hints in order for Theo to be honest with him.
âYou are getting challenged for the crown,â Theo stated and straightened his back. Maynard and Lazlo shared a glance before they rushed to their feet to approach Theo and stand beside him. I am sure they didnât know what was happening but then wanted to redeem themselves by standing with Theo this time.
âWho is challenging me?â Corbin asked in a deep and depressed tone. It was funny that he wasnât smiling anymore, while everybody else looked happy.
âTake a wild guess,â Theoâs words prompted Corbin to look around before returning his gaze to Theo and taking a step back from him.
I am not an expert in body language, but Corbin looked frightened. I am assuming he took it wrong.
âDo you need water?â Theo teased, grabbing a glass and offering it to him.
âYou will have to submit papersâ-,â Corbin said, but Theoâs hard head nod forced him into silence.
âDonât worry, I know what needs to be done. Why donât you go home and save the energy for the match?â Theo advised him while he.drank from the glass himself.
The silence in Corbinâs existence was worth watching. He never imagined fighting against a Lycan.
âVery well then, If you didnât submit the papers in the next few days, I will come back to collect my mate,â Corbin spared everyone a glance but avoided Theo.
Needless to say, Theo had stolen the world from beneath his feet. He gave us all one last head nod before heading away from us.
After he had left, we all let out a sigh of relief while I ran to hug Janet to comfort her. Her heart was pounding so hard already.
âSo, you are going to fight him for the crown?â Lazlo asked Theo, who was biting the inside of his cheek and brainstorming in silence.
âNo!â Theo shook his head. Maynard and Lazlo turned to us to see what our reaction was to Theoâs statement.
âBut you just saiâ so there is no pending match?â Maynard failed to comprehend why Theo lied when he said he wasnât going to challenge Corbin.
âThere is,â Theo shook himself into reality and faced the two, asking him questions, âBut I am not the one who is fighting him,â Theo took a pause before he mumbled, âShe is.â With that, he pointed at me, and when the two followed his hand, they gasped.
