Dustin had never expected anyone to risk their lives for him. Donovan’s decision to stay silent to save himself wasn’t inherently wrong.

“Your father saved me countless times and put so much trust in me, but I did nothing. It’s genuinely embarrassing,” Donovan lamented.

If Dustin had scolded or hit him, it might have been easier for Donovan to bear. However, Dustin showed no intention of blaming him, intensifying his guilt.

“Abbot Lumen, I have a question. We had no issues with the Dragon Guard, so why were they trying to eliminate us? “Dustin asked again.

“The reason is simple. You pose a threat to the established order,” Donovan said helplessly.

“Ten years ago, your family’s West Lucozian monarchy dominated the scene, overshadowing imperial authority. For the organization, your existence threatened their status, something they couldn’t tolerate.”

“Such a slight threat and the organization chose to annihilate us?” Dustin furrowed his brow, a steely glint in his eyes.

“Logan, you’re underestimating the impact of your family.” Donovan sighed softly. He went on, “If it were only your father’s renown, the organization might endure or seek a diplomatic resolution. However, your entire family is exceptionally remarkable.

“Your father, Rufus, was a natural military genius, undefeated in countless battles. He was acknowledged as a king among kings, leading a formidable army of fifty thousand.

“Your mother, Alba Quinton, had exceptional prowess and was already an ultimate grandmaster in martial arts in her thirties. She was number five in the Astonishing World List, earning acclaim as unparalleled worldwide.”

Donovan continued, “And you are equally extraordinary. With a guardian beast since birth and a profound destiny, you achieved grandmaster status at just fifteen.

“Every member of your family surpasses the others in excellence. If allowed to grow unchecked, not even the organization could withstand the brilliance of your family.”

He concluded, “To secure their position and power, they orchestrated a brutal event targeting you and your mother, aiming to eliminate any potential future threats. This is the truth you sought.”

After hearing this, Dustin clenched his fists, his face darkening. He always thought his mother’s death was related to imperial authority, but he never expected an even stronger force behind it.

And this force, driven by fear of threatening its status and power, didn’t hesitate to commit a bloodbath that engulfed Oakvale.

“Dragon Guard!” Dustin gritted his teeth. There was a fierce glint in his eyes, and he seemed downright murderous. An organization that abused its power had no place to exist!

“Logan, the influence of the organization is overwhelming, and their leader is like a god. Many powers in the world are under their control.

“Even if you know the truth now, don’t act recklessly. Otherwise, the tragedy of the past will repeat itself,” Donovan warned sternly.

“Thank you, Abbot Lumen, for the reminder. I know what to do,” Dustin nodded. Taking a deep breath, he quickly suppressed the anger within him.

He had endured for ten years, so a couple more days wouldn’t matter. It was better to plan carefully, discern the weaknesses of the organization, and then strike.

“Oh, Logan, there’s another matter I must caution you about.”

At this moment, Donovan seemed to remember something and said, “The attack back then didn’t solely come from an external threat. According to my investigation, there was a traitor in your midst.”
