Chapter 1624 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
A sudden knock echoed through the door. Fenley slowly opened his eyes and asked, âWhoâs there?â
âItâs me.â
An old man in white robes entered and pushed the door open. The elder, with an air of otherworldliness, was none other than Alloy Marshall, the guildmaster of the Celestial Alliance.
âMaster Alloy?â Fenleyâs expression brightened as he quickly stood up.â What brings you here?â
âJust checking on you.â Alloy smiled faintly and asked, âFenley, howâs your progress lately?â
âIâm now a grandmaster. Just one step away from being an ultimate grandmaster,â Fenley replied truthfully.
âNot bad. Achieving this at such a young age is quite a feat. I wasnât as accomplished at your age.â Alloy nodded approvingly.
âMaster Alloy, youâre too kind. If it werenât for your guidance, I wouldnât be where I am today,â Fenley said, lowering his head.
âNo need to be humble. Your success is the result of your efforts.â
Alloy smiled and then asked, âOh, I heard you had a fierce battle last night and even used the Four Elements of Godâs Technique. Is that true?â
âItâs true,â Fenley admitted.
âThe opponent was quite formidable. He managed to block the first three forms of the Four Elements of Godâs Technique. Unfortunately, I didnât have the chance to use the fourth form, Fury of Lightning God. Otherwise, I could have won!â
âVery good.â Alloy nodded in satisfaction. âAlthough you didnât win last night, today you have a chance to redeem yourself.â
âHuh?â Fenley was momentarily stunned, not quite grasping the situation.
âThe person you fought last night was Logan Rhys, also known as Kirin. I believe youâre already aware.â Alloyâs tone carried a deeper meaning.
âThis morning, an old acquaintance sent a message. We need the Celestial Alliance to handle a certain matter. I think you are well-suited for it.â
âWhat does Master Alloy want me to do?â Fenley asked cautiously.
âTo kill Logan for the sake of our country!â Alloyâs expression turned serious.
âWhat? Kill Logan?â Fenleyâs eyes widened in disbelief.
âMaster Alloy, are you joking?â Fenley asked. âLogan Rhys is the Crown Prince of West Lucozia. Killing him would bring immense trouble to the Celestial Alliance.â
In Dragonmarsh, the dominance of the West Lucozian monarchy was common knowledge. With its formidable 50 thousand Black Dragon Army, it stood as an invincible force.
Adding to the challenge, the Prince of West Lucozia was renowned for fiercely guarding his son. If news of his sonâs demise reached him, he would undoubtedly mobilize his forces to obliterate the Celestial Alliance.
Despite the Celestial Alliance boasting the title of the worldâs leading sect, it has yet to attain a position where it can openly challenge the formidable power of the West Lucozian monarchy.
âDonât worry. I wouldnât ask you to do this if I didnât have a foolproof plan Just focus on the battle, and Iâll handle the rest,â Alloy said calmly.
âMaster Alloy, I donât understand. Who could be worth the risk youâre taking?â Fenley frowned.
âThere are some things I cannot reveal at the moment. When youâre in my position, youâll understand.â Alloy shook his head.
âBut-â Fenley hesitated.
âFenley, this is your chance to prove yourself. Once youâve killed Logan Rhys, youâll be unparalleled in the world,â Alloy encouraged. âOf course, if youâre unwilling, I can handle the task personally.â
âMaster Alloy! Your old injuries havenât healed yet. If you fight, you might worsen them,â Fenley said anxiously.
âThereâs no choice. For the Celestial Allianceâs development, there are things that I must do.â Alloy shook his head with a hint of helplessness.
Seeing his master sighing, Fenley gritted his teeth and finally agreed, â Master Alloy, let me do it. Youngsters should take care of their affairs.â
âGood. I havenât raised you in vain.â Alloy nodded in satisfaction.
He added, âLogan Rhys is currently heading to Quandary Mountain Scenic Monastery. Go there immediately, and at any cost, prevent him from returning to Oakvale!â
