Chapter 1498 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âItâs really Sir Moseyâs badge! Looks like her status isnât simple!â someone exclaimed.
âI heard Sir Mosey took in a god- daughter recently. Could it be her?â another speculated. After the gold badge was revealed, the crowd was buzzing with discussion.
Ordinary members of the Mosey family didnât have the privilege of receiving such a badge. It was reserved for those highly favored by Seamus. This elevated the womanâs status even higher.
âMs. Mosey, I apologize! I was wrong!â the man in the suit realized his mistake and immediately knelt, panic-stricken. âI was blind and spoke out of turn. Please forgive my rudeness, Ms. Mosey!
âHumph! Now youâre scared? Why didnât you act this way earlier?â Julie raised her head high, reveling in the deferential gazes.
What was a scion of a prestigious family compared to her? They still had to bow down before her. This was real power!
âMs. Mosey, I know I was wrong! I wonât dare behave so arrogant anymore. I have a family to support. Please, have mercy!â the man in the suit pleaded anxiously.
âSlap yourself ten times, and I wonât hold this against you,â Julie declared disdainfully.
âY-Yes!â The man immediately started vigorously slapping his face without stopping.
âEnough, you can go now.â Julie waved her hand.
âThank you for your mercy, Ms. Mosey! âThe man bowed a few times before leaving, relieved.
âNow, who still dares to make me wait in line?â Julie, arms crossed, glared at the crowd. Everyone who met her gaze immediately lowered their heads, unwilling to speak up.
The Mosey family were a force to be reckoned with; who would dare to offend them? Even members of the prestigious Carmen family knelt and begged for mercy. What about them?
âVery well. Since no one is speaking up, Iâll go ahead.â Julie smirked, satisfied with the outcome. As she was about to cut in line, someone piped up, âHold on.â
âWhat? Whoâs talking?!â Julieâs expression darkened as she scanned the surroundings.
âItâs me.â Dustin emerged from the crowd, walking calmly. âJulie, doing business requires manners. Your high-handed approach doesnât seem appropriate.â
âDustin? Why are you here?â Julie was surprised, not expecting to see him.
âWhy canât I be here?â Dustinâs expression remained indifferent.
âHmph! You just donât know when to quit!â Julieâs face immediately turned cold.
âRhys! Are you following my cousin to Oakvale? Let me make it clear: my cousin is now a distinguished figure who is leagues above you. You better give up on any ideas!â
âDonât flatter yourself. I didnât come to Oakvale for Dahlia,â Dustin replied.
âHumph! Thatâs better! If you dare harbor inappropriate thoughts, I wonât hold back!â Julie threatened.
âEnough, Iâm not here to catch up with you. If you want to buy the ointment, youâll have to wait in line like everyone else, Dustin dismissed.
âWait in line? What a joke! Who do you think you are? You dare teach me how I should behave? Do you know my current status?â Julie sneered.
âI know exactly who you are,â Dustin exposed without mercy, âA phony pretending to be some wealthy heiress. Donât overestimate yourself.â
