Chapter 577
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
âNo. Megan got sick, and they were all worried about her, so they dropped it for now,â he replied while
adeptly cracking an egg into a bowl with one hand.
Listening to the sound of whisking eggs, Debbie felt her heart was soaked in bitterness, but she
pretended not to mind.
âI didnât know you could cook. When did you learn that?â
Carlos paused shortly.
âIâll cook for you someday soon, okay?â
âNo need for that. The servants can cook. By the way, you worked all day. Where are the servants?
Arenât they supposed to do that?â Debbieâs eyes started tearing up. Carlos was busy every day. She
didnât have the heart to ask him to do anything for her after work. But right now, another woman was
having him work in the middle of the night.
âMegan didnât feel well. She wanted to eat the noodles I cooked for her before,â he explained briefly.
âHuh!â Debbie held back her tears without one more word.
She didnât know since when sheâd always been trying to reign in her temper.
But it was only around Carlos that she would suppress her anger time and again.
âMegan said it was urgent. What is it?â
âI want to go back to Alorith alone tomorrow, she blurted out.
Carlos put down the bowl and chopsticks.
âWeâll only be here for three days. Iâll be finished with work by then. Whatâs the matter? I gave you a
private villa all to yourself. I promise no one will disturb you there.â
Debbie was conflicted. She appreciated what Carlos had done for her, from the bottom of her heart, but
meanwhile, she couldnât stand him being nice to other women, even if the woman was his supposed
niece.
Especially a niece who wanted him for herself!
She wanted to be mad, but she also thought she shouldnât be.
It might make her seem petty.
She wanted to cry, but she didnât know exactly why she was hurt.
âOkay, can you come back now? I miss you, honey. I canât sleep without you by my side.â
Carlos missed her too, but the meal wasnât finished yet. He didnât like leaving things half done.
âIâll be back in half an hour.â
The manor was very close to the villa. He could get there in very few minutes. He always finished what
he had started. The noodles would be ready in a dozen minutes.
âOkay, Iâll wait for you.â
âALL right, bye.â
