Chapter 571
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
âYour room?â Valerie walked over and glared at Debbie.
âDebbie, you saw it yourself. Not that we donât welcome you, but you ruined the peace in this family.
âIt seemed true. Debbie forced her tears back and apologized, âIâm sorryââ
As soon as the words came out, Carlos squeezed her hand.
Valerie gazed at her grimly.
âI donât need your apology. Iâm sure youâve shaved years off my life. Divorce Carlos if youâre not trying
to make me die soon.â
âDivorce!â Debbieâs heart twisted into a knot.
âHereâs what you do. Call the lawyer. Now. Ask him to write up the divorce papers. As Long as you sign
the papers without making a fuss, we may consider paying you alimony.â
Debbie was lost for words. Carlos pulled her behind him protectively and confronted the old Lady.
âSince when does any of you get to make decisions about my marriage, Grandma?â
Valerie met his eyes.
âCarlos, you used to be loyal to the family, but now you disrespect me again and again, all because of
this woman. You hit Lewis! You hit your father! I wonât allow this woman to confuse you anymore.
Carlos sneered, âYouâre the confused one. Who has been stirring shit up ever since Debbie got here?
You know Lewis as well I do. Do you really think this is Debbieâs fault? Dad shouldnât have hit Debbie.
He should be thankful he IS my dad. Otherwise, I would have cut his arm off. You protect your son, and
Iâm just trying to protect my wife. Whatâs wrong with that?â
âCarlos, you-â Valerie was too furious to go on.
Carlos glanced at the others and declared, âDebbie and I will never get divorced, never. All of you, just
forget about it, because youâll only be disappointed. Weâre only living here because we want to keep
my mom company. But now it seems itâs not necessary. My momâs willing to take insults lying down, but
there is no way that Iâll let my wife become somebodyâs doormat. Debbie and I are moving out.â
With that, he took Debbieâs hand and started walking towards the stairs.
âCarlos! Carlos Hilton!â Watching her grandsonâs cold figure, Valerie wanted to ask him to stay.
However, Carlos only quickened his pace. He didnât want to be there a minute Longer than he had to
be. If this was the way they were going to treat his wife, he didnât want any part of it.
When they came to the Landing, he suddenly stopped and said to the others, âAnd my wife isnât a thief,
either. My men figured out it wasnât her. Grandma, keep an eye on your dog.â
Valerie kept a medium-sized dog. She would let him play and run around in the manor at regular times.
âIs the dog responsible?â they all wondered.
A car was parked at the entrance to the house. Before getting in,
Debbie suddenly stopped. Carlos Looked back at her.
âMaybe I should move out. You can stay here..
Carlos affectionately pulled the coat draped on her shoulders closer to her.
âYou think Iâll agree to that?â
