When I woke up the next day, I was undeniably energetic.

For about six months, I had never woken up without my alarm blasting through my ears. But as I said earlier, my hormones if I could put it that way, kept me up and ready to go.

I skipped breakfast only grabbing a banana and left for school.

I really wanted to have some time to myself and I was still trying to digest my convo with Darien yesterday so, I shot him a text telling him I'd already left.

Darien's father owned Desire making them filthy rich and his net worth? I couldn't even bring myself to say it out loud.

When I asked him in his car yesterday, he gave me a sheepish smile and brushed it off. But thanks to technology, I googled him quickly and guess what? His net worth was over a hundred million.

After gasping and almost choking on my breath, I looked at him with my mouth opened.

I was dumbfounded, I didn't know what to say and didn't know how to even react.

He started shifting under my gaze looking so uncomfortable and brought out his hands to close my mouth. I rolled my eyes smiling and playfully hit his hand away but he looked offended.

His sour face clearly gave out everything.

The guy was worth close to a billion but he was scared I'd start treating him differently.

I looked at my house in my driveway wanting to catch some sleep but held his hands before leaving.

"We're still friends and some net worth isn't going to change that." I wanted that to sink in his head and that did the trick. He gave out a relief sigh wrapping me in an unexpected hug.

And that's how we ended our convo but I still couldn't wrap my head around it.

He was naturally a billionaire but he was so humble, I bet he had a lot of friends in his circle.

Why haven't I heard of his name before?

Who are you asking?

I poke my tongue in my cheek dismissing my thoughts.

Wait, if he's worth that much then it means he was quite famous on the internet.

I battled with my thoughts contemplating if it was the right thing for me to do.

I mean I wanted to know what the internet was saying about him but at the same time, I didn't want to pry. I was conflicted but shook my head and typed his name in the search engine.

"Forgive me Darien but I have to do this." I muttered in my seat and tapped on the first info I saw on him.

Dang!, I gasped slightly looking at one of his recent photo from an event he attended.

He looked dapper, super handsome with that expensive tuxedo he had on and his hair, wow!

I looked at the man standing beside him and couldn't forgo the striking resemblance between them.

On his left, there was his mother. She looked so young and really beautiful.

I tapped on the info attached to the photo and read about the event they went to. It was a charity event. I went back and decided to go through more of his photos but something else caught my eyes. I tapped on that instead and read everything.

The woman on his left wasn't his biological mother, his father had married again but what happened for him to remarry?

I shrugged and went back to his photos again but I wasn't getting anything so I moved to social media and quickly searched for him on the gram. I wasn't even surprised at the number of followers he had.

I went through his photos and sighed. The man was beautifully handsome in all his pictures, but the one that caught me real deep, was the one from two weeks ago.

It looked like he wasn't aware of his surrounding but he was smiling hard with someone on the phone. I smiled and made a mental note to ask him for that picture.

I scrolled up to his recent ones and grinned when I noticed that I was already friends with him on the gram. I instantly liked his pictures.

The bus honked alerting me that I was almost at my school, it stopped there and I got down ready for my first class.

I sent a quick text to Darien letting him know I was already in school and, quickly got to class to see Dany and Cheryl already in their seats.

They glared at my sheepish smile and dismissed my apology clearly not impressed.

"We were so worried." Cheryl spoke first with worry laced in her voice.

"I'm so sorry. I overslept and I didn't hear my phone ring, I'm so sorry." I lied but they smiled giving me a warm hug.

"Don't ever do that again." Dany grumbly said rubbing my back.

I sat beside them and asked them to fill me in on what happened on campus yesterday. I took my time reading the notes they made and started putting everything down as we continued to chat.

"Are you done with the powerpoint? You're presenting next week." I sighed thinking about the stress I'd be feeling on Monday.

"I've started something, I'll finish it over the weekend." I replied and we went on with the gossip circulating around campus.

"So how are things going with Anton?" I smirked and Cheryl sat there blushing profusely.

"We uh we are officially together now." Dany and I squealed. I was so happy for her, finally she had him.

"And when is the wedding?" Dany asked anxiously causing Cheryl to cough so hard.

"What?" She muttered after taking in some water.

"Oh come on. We all know you guys will end up getting married. So the sooner you get it done, the better we get to see our godchildren." I grinned hard nodding my head at Dany's statement.

"We are taking things slow." Cheryl explained with her red cheeks making us laugh, we couldn't be happier for her.

"And what about you? When are we meeting the guy?" I stared at Dany totally confused.

"We need to get you one, we are going to graduate soon and we haven't seen you with anyone why's that?" My best friends gave me a mischievous smile.

"Or you are seeing someone you haven't told us about?"

I scoffed. "Yeah and I hate my job." I sassed and they rolled their eyes at me.

"We need to get you someone, there's this fair coming up and you're coming with us. Don't tell me you can't." Dany said in a firm tone leaving no room for arguments.

I nodded and opened my mouth to speak about her meeting someone too but our professor entered and all talking ceased.

I turned and glanced over the lecture hall looking for Darien. I groaned and took out my phone booking an appointment with my optometrist.

Our professor went straight with what he came to do today, making the class so lively with some brainstorming sessions.

I had to give it to him. He knew how to stir the emotions of his students because at a point, he was telling us a sad story and then moved to nerve wrecking one.

Who knew clienteles had to go through things like these.

He wrapped up the class a bit too early asking us to think about an experience we'd want to share with the class in our next lecture.

I racked my brains thinking of one while packing my books into my bag.

I turned in my seat and looked around the hall again looking for Darien. I finally spotted him talking to two guys at the back and waved at him when our eyes met.

He waved back and mouthed that he was coming, I nodded and turned to see my friends arching their brows at me.

"Is that him?" Dany asked wiggling her eyebrows.

"Well I wouldn't blame you, he's a beauty. Is he a model or something?" She asked again licking her lips.

I scowled at her and shook my head, "So can I have him?" She asked again clearly expecting me to react.

"You can and that is if he wants to, but I don't think he wants that. I think he's dating." I blurted, blasting myself mentally for falling into her trap. Why was I blabbing? My best friends broke down laughing at me.

"What's funny?" I asked innocently but had no answer to my question as they laughed harder.

"Am I missing something?" I scowled at them and huffed.

"Your face was priceless, you can keep him I was just joking." I gulped at her words and shook my head.

"No you can ask him out besides you guys will have some really cute kids." I gave her a huge smile brushing off the slight ache in my chest but she smiled shaking her head.

"If I had the power I would but he hasn't looked at me once." I shifted my gaze to see what she was talking about.

"He's been looking at you since we started talking." Dany teased nudging my shoulder. I rolled my eyes scoffing.

"Yeah right, let's wait for him. I want to introduce you guys to my childhood friend I haven't seen in a long time."

"And here he comes." Cheryl whisper-singed and I cleared my throat waiting for him to come to us.

Immediately he got to us, he opened his arms and gave me an unexpected warm hug.

My friends smiled mischievously earning an eye roll from me. They honestly thought Darien had something for me. That was impossible.

"How was your night?" I asked him pulling from the hug.

"Good. Yours?"

"Same." I answered and turned to my friends who still had the same silly smile plastered on their faces.

"Darien meet my best friends." I gestured to my friends who shared a knowing smile with him. They all broke out laughing at my confused face. Was I missing something?

"Oh we know him, isn't that right Cheryl?"

"Mmmhmm" Cheryl responded.

"You know them?" I asked him and he nodded with his ears almost turning red.

"I uhm I talked to them yesterday morning when I was looking for you." My mouth formed an oh nodding at his response.

"That's great then." I muttered and he nodded.

"Then let's get to our next class."

Dany and Cheryl started bugging him about class and life when we made our way out of the class. I couldn't hear them over my airpods but I could see Darien not overwhelmed about their nuisance.

"So.. childhood friend huh?" Dany enquired again with a smirk on her face.

"Yah." Darien gave a simple answer scooting closer to me.

"I don't know but since yesterday, I feel like I've seen your face somewhere before but I can't point out where exactly." Cheryl mused looking at Darien.

My mouth twitched at her words and looked at him expecting him to be nervous but he kept it cool and laughed.

"Do you ever get that feeling? Like you know someone from somewhere but you just don't know where."

She asked and we all muttered a yes but she kept on looking at Darien trying to remember where he'd seen him from.
