Chapter 16 // Weaponized

Next day (Saturday)

School

"Where's Lydia?" Adrianna asked her group of friends as she realized that her strawberry haired best friend wasn't there with them to do the exams.

"She took it her freshman year." Stiles answered her so she nodded understandingly.

Lydia Martin is one of the smartest people that Adrianna has ever met so it's understandable why she had took it on her freshman year of High School.

"Does that mean I could have taken it some other time?" Malia asked as she slouched herself in panic because she was worried sick about this dumb exam that they have to take.

"Malia, you're the only person who has studied harder then any of us. Don't worry about it." Adrianna tried to encourage her new fond friend but Malia wasn't so convinced at that enthusiasm.

"Doesn't mean I'm gonna do good." Malia sighed heavily as she looked at the pregnant friend who had her hands on her growing stomach with Scott's arm wrapped around her waist tightly.

"Well..." Stiles corrected his girlfriend but Malia didn't understand why he had said it in that way causing her eyebrows to be furrowed down.

"Well, what?"

"It's do well, not good." Stiles explained to her.

"Oh, God!" Malia exclaimed and rolled her eyes at her boyfriend.

"Okay, okay." Stiles tried to defend himself.

"You're doing this, because while we're trying not to die, we still need to live. If I survive high school, I'd like to go to college. A good college." Scott tells Malia but then started to talk to all of them in general as he tightened his grip around his girlfriend's waist slightly more but not enough to harm her because he would never think of hurting her.

"Guys, I promise we will all survive this, okay? We will pass this test, we will graduate, and we will get into a good college. All of us." The Carter girl tells her friends and smiled widely at them as if they were all just regular students in Beacon Hills High School who only have to stress about school work but in reality they have to stress about surviving, saving others, and protecting the supernatural secret from humans.

"It's only three hours. We can survive three hours." Kira tried to be positive as well but Stiles just gazed at her with a stink face.

She wasn't serious about that, right?

"Cell phone in the envelope, Scott. You'll get it back after the test." Ms. Martin tells Scott who was hesitant on putting his cellphone in the envelope because he was constantly getting texts from either Derek, Deaton, or his mother. Important supernatural type of texts.

Adrianna put a hand on his shoulder and gave him a slight squeeze. He turned his head at her and looked at her with a sad look. He needed to stop thinking about the supernatural for once and actually think about his future for once. So, he smiled at her before he put his phone in there and pressed his thumb on the black finger print ash. Printing his finger print on the sheet of paper.

Adrianna did the same with Scott and then stamped her finger print, grabbing the test booklet from Simon who only stared at her with a smirk plastered onto his lips. He had a mischievous look on him but Adrianna only shook it off by shooting him a kind awkward smile before heading over to sit to the only empty chair. Sadly, it wasn't even near Scott.

She was sitting right next to Sydney who was a very kind and smart person so Adrianna really didn't mind the spot at all.

"Please do not open the test booklet until you are instructed to do so. This test is two hours and 10 minutes. There will be two 25-minute critical reading sections, two 25-minute math sections and an essay writing portion that will last 30 minutes." Simon announced all the rules and schedule for the exam as they all sat there impatiently - they all only wanted to start so that they can get this over with and go home.

"There are suppose to be two teachers monitoring this exam." Simon gazed at Ms. Martin who looked puzzled at that but shook it off quickly.

"I know. It's Coach. He's not exactly punctual. Um, let me just try him again." She excused herself from the room and walked over to the coach's office.

Fiddling with the #2 pencil that Kira had let Adrianna borrow for the test, she bit her bottom lip, nervously. Even though she did make a speech about how she knows that everyone of them are going to pass the exam and high school and about how they will get into a good college. She couldn't help but to think if she was gonna be the one to be left behind because of her current situation. Does she really have a chance to make it in life when she's a pregnant teenager?

"I can't find him, but Mr. Yukimura is upstairs grading papers. Do you want me to try him?" Ms.Martin's voice had snapped the young girls thoughts when she had walked in looking disappointed.

"We have to start. We can ask for his assistance during the first break." Simon shrugged it off and then looked over at the classroom full of juniors who were ready to take the exam but were just as nervous as well.

His gaze then lingered more on the pregnant teenager who was to busy fiddling with her #2 pencil again. She didn't feel the gaze from in front of her so she didn't bother looking up even when Simon spoke up.

Simon smirked a bit to much but he couldn't help but to imagine the amount of money he will soon have after he kills the whole pack. Especially, when he kills off Adrianna Carter.

If only she knew how much she was actually worth. She was definitely not worth 10 million anymore and everyone in the pack knew that besides Malia.

"You may now open your test booklets and begin." Simon announced and that's when they all shakily opened the test booklets.

They began something that was going to determine if they were going to make it to be something in life or not. So, it was definitely a big deal for all of them.

It was 20 minutes into the exam until Sydney had fainted and fell off her chair only to have Adrianna quickly scramble out of her seat carefully to help her get back up.

"Hey, look at me. You okay?" She asked her friend gently as she sat her up and finally got her to stand up without harming herself.

She nodded tiredly and smiled at the young girl who she already knew was going to be a wonderful mother soon. Everyone who Adrianna had encountered before knew that too. They all knew that the 17 year old girl was going to become a wonderful mother to her child. She's already acting like a concern mother to everyone she talks to.

"Sydney! Are you all right?" Ms. Martin asked the tired teenager in astonishment.

"I'm okay. I just got kind of dizzy." Sydney tried to shake it off and wanted so desperately to work on her test again because she needed to pass it this time. She needed to get that scholarship in order to get into that college she wanted to get into.

"Sydney, how long have you had this?" Adrianna asked her friend when she grabbed onto her wrist to see a weird and awful red mark on her pale skin.

"I don't know." She stammered as she looked down at what Adrianna was talking about not aware that she had had it for a while now.

Ms. Martin stared at the bruise for a couple of seconds before walking off to the front of the classroom and getting her cellphone.

"Ms. Martin, do I need to stop the test?" Simon asked Lydia's mother who only shook her head at him.

"No, um, it's fine. Everybody stay in your seats. I'll, um, be back in a minute." She tells the whole classroom.

"Nobody leaves the room." Ms. Martin says sternly to Simon as he just nodded.

Sydney sat down back in her seat but Adrianna didn't leave her side which caused the young teenager to smile. She was flattered that someone actually cared for her like this so she didn't mind that Adrianna was practically sitting on her seat as well while trying to calm her down because she knew how much this test meant to Sydney.

It was a bit hard for her to sit down in those school chairs considering that the desks now a days were attached to the chairs and considering her belly was growing bigger. She wasn't going to be able to fit in them anymore soon.

Scott looked at his girlfriend and smiled happily at her. He was definitely proud and extremely lucky to have someone like her in his life. After Allison he never thought he would have been able to find someone with a big heart like hers. Of course that was until he meant Adrianna. Adrianna had a huge heart of gold.

Everyone heard Ms. Martin yelling in the hallways and heard her loud clicking heels which heard like she was running so they all walked out of the classroom to see Natalie panicked.

"Back to your seats. Now. Please." Natalie begged them all as they slowly walked back into the classroom.

"What's going on?" Adrianna asked Scott who was listening into Natalie talking on the phone outside of the classroom.

"She's calling the CDC." Scott replied to her and all she could do was stare at him.

"You feeling okay?" Malia asked Adrianna who was sitting on the comfortable chair that Stiles found for her to sit on instead of the hard school chair.

"Yeah, I think so." Adrianna answered her honestly and nodded at the concerned werecoyote.

"Is the baby okay?" Malia asked her again for the health of her baby this time.

"I can feel her moving." She confirmed and grabbed her hand to calm her down.

"I'm going to be okay, Malia. They're probably thinking it's just smallpox." Adrianna tried to calm her down and Stiles perked at what she had said because he was thinking the exact same thing but only to be dragged down.

"Not likely. Smallpox was eradicated worldwide in 1979. We've only managed to completely eradicate two viruses in history. The other was rinderpest. It killed cows." Simon entered the conversation which slightly annoyed Adrianna but being the kind person she was she only went along with his conversation.

"So we should be comforted by that, right?" Stiles asked him sarcastically like usual.

"Unless it's something worse." He replied to him and kept looking down at his desk.

"Whatever it is, they're taking it pretty seriously. They're a lot of cars and trucks out there." Malia shook her head and listened into the conversations outside of the school.

"Your dad's with them." Malia tells Stiles who widened his eyes at that because he forgot about his father this whole time.

"Hey, I should probably call him." Stiles suggested and got off the desk to walk over to the envelopes, trying to find his phone.

"Don't bother. They would have shut off any access to all outside communication by now. No cell service, no WiFi. No one starting a panic. Looks like we're all just going to have to wait here and see what happens." Simon tells him and it sounded very creepy too causing Stiles and Adrianna to stare at him suspiciously.

They made everyone get in line to get ready to get blood taken out from them while the ones who were already infected got into a safe tent.

"Kira, Adri, do you ever get the feeling that Scott and Stiles aren't telling you everything?" Malia asked the two girls in front of them.

"What do you mean?" Kira asked the werecoyote.

"Like they hide stuff." She replied to her as Adrianna started to think about it.

Scott hasn't been letting her stay over at his house and he was definitely being much more protective of her which was suspicious.

"I think if they did, they'd probably have a pretty good reason." Kira tells her as if she knew something and she did. She knew a lot of stuff about Adrianna's change of amount of money and Malia being a Hale.

"Do you know what they're hiding in the bag under Scott's bed?" Malia asked Kira because she now realized that Adrianna didn't know what she was even talking about.

"What? No, I've never been under Scott's bed. Or in it. Just on it... Wearing clothes." Kira stuttered nervously with wide eyes but then widened her eyes when she noticed how bad that had sounded and especially in front of Scott's girlfriend but Adrianna was to busy thinking about the topic of Scott being secretive.

"Adrianna Carter. I know about your pregnancy and even if I knew nothing about it I would have figured it out." The CDC doctor joked around with the teenage girl who only stared at her blankly but smiled slightly.

"Yeah, I guess I'm starting to show a lot for being only 17 weeks pregnant, huh?" Adrianna asked her as the older women just nodded.

"You're not afraid of needles, correct? Don't want you to faint and hurt your baby, now do we?" She asked her as Adrianna just chuckled, shaking her head.

"No, not at all. I'm okay with needles." She shrugged and that's when the needle sticked into her arm, getting blood from her.

After she was done and bandaged with Kira who was next.

"Kira Yukimura. You feeling all right, Kira? I don't like needles either. I promise, it'll be fast."  The CDC doctor tried to comfort her and when the needle was attached to Kira's arm, she was electrocuted.

The CDC workers immediately grabbed the CDC doctor and tugged her out of the school to check if she was okay. Kira stood there in shock that she had done that.

"Kira. Kira!" Malia tried to get her friends attention and finally pulled her out of the line.

"Something is definitely wrong guys.." Adrianna commented and she stared up at them only to have them be on her side.

"You don't look so good, Adri." Kira tells her honestly not meaning for it to come out rude but in concern for her.

Kira may have had a crush on Scott McCall since the first day she went to school a couple months ago. And Adrianna was the one to stole his heart but that didn't meant she hated the poor girl. She was practically in love with this soon to be mom teenager.

No one was able to hate her even if they tried.

Adrianna was sweating like crazy and she had red but purplish bags under her eyes. She started to look very tired and drained.

"I-I really don't think this is good for the baby." Adrianna panted as she looked up at them only to have Malia grab onto her just in case if Adrianna started to get dizzy.

"You're definitely not okay." Malia commented to her bluntly as she practically dragged her into the boys locker room to see the others in there already.

"It's still happening." Mr. Yukimura tells Scott as he kept examining his eyes which were turning bright red every single second and then back to their original brown color.

"I can't make them go back." Malia announced while showing everyone one of her hands which showed off her claws while the other one was carefully around Adrianna's waist.

"Obviously the virus is affecting the three of you in a way it won't hit any human being." He tells Malia, Scott, and Adrianna.

"Adrianna isn't anything supernatural." Scott tells him quickly, defending her.

"Are you sure about that, Scott? Adrianna is on that list. You have to be supernatural in order to be on that list." Mr. Yukimura defended his opinion and Scott knew he was right but that still didn't mean he was going to believe in that. Adrianna couldn't be a supernatural creature.

"You guys have to stay out of sight. We have to quarantine you from the quarantine." Stiles muttered looking at Malia and Scott.

"Yeah, but where? I mean, what if they get violent? Like on a full moon." Kira asked as Stiles quickly grabbed onto Adrianna who was starting to look worse then before. !$

"I can't get this baby sick." Adrianna says tiredly and laid her head on Stiles shoulder causing Scott to growl lowly only having Malia hear him which caused her to glare at him for growling at her boyfriend.

Malia wasn't jealous of Adrianna because she knew Stiles was hers and he was loyal to her. She also knew that Adrianna was like a little sister to him and he would protect her at all costs.

"We shouldn't stay in here. Not in the locker room." Scott shook his head trying to stop the jealousy take over him.

Scott would have been the one to hold onto her but he was to scared to hurt her in any considering he has no control over his werewolf form now. His eyes were starting to turn red every second and he doesn't know what else might start to malfunction with him.

"A classroom is not going to hold us." Malia tells him but then looked over at Adrianna.

"And we need to get her out of here. It's not safe for her and for the baby."

"No, no, I'll be fine and the baby will be fine. I need to stay with you guys." Adrianna rejected the plan for her to get out and pulled away from Stiles starting to feel slightly better at that but that still didn't mean she was not in pain.

"Adri-" Kira tried to object but Adrianna cut her off before she even had the chance to.

"No, I'm staying with you guys and that's final." She says stubbornly causing Scott to sigh but nodded at her.

He would keep her safe.

No matter what this disease does to him he was going to save her before himself if necessary.

"What about the basement?" Kira suggested.

"Too many ways out. We need something secure. Somewhere nobody can find us." Scott shot the suggestion down, shaking his head as he looked weaker by the second.

"The vault. The Hale vault." Stiles says in realization.

"The Hales always have an escape route. Like their house. There has to be another way in." Scott tells Mr. Yukimura and that's when they all got into coach's office to see the map of the school.

"This is where the school sign is, so the vault's got to be right about here." Stiles says and pointed at the part where the vault is suppose to be at.

"I suppose if there's a second entrance, it would probably be accessible from the basement." Kira's father says and looked up Adrianna to see if she was doing okay.

"It's probably somewhere in this hallway. West corridor." Stiles started to say but almost fainted forward but Adrianna caught him and looked concerned for the poor boy.

"Whoa." He says in shock as he looked up at Adri.

"It's happening to you too. You're getting sick. You all are." Mr. Yukimura tells them as he looked over at his daughter to see her look perfectly fine.

"I don't feel sick." Kira muttered awkwardly as she stared at her friends who looked horrible.

"I think it's affecting you differently, neurologically. I found your test answers here in a pile with the others." He tells her and handed her the test only to see that she was bubbling in the answers out of the bubbles.

Everyone except of Mr. Yukimura went over to look for the hale vault. They all split up around the hallway to look for it but Scott was to busy holding onto Adrianna in his arms not wanting her to force herself to stay strong for them.

She grabbed his shirt in her tight fists and coughed out a little bit. Her sweat ran down her forehead but landed onto his shirt, wetting it slightly but he didn't care.

"Hey, guys... Over here." Stiles signaled them to go over to her and when they did. Malia helped Stiles push the big cart to see carvings on the wall.

"Look at the cracks in the wall. It's like the entrance outside, it only opens with claws. Anyone's claws, right?" Stiles asked Scott being careful not to reveal the secret about Malia and moved his eyes over to Malia for a split second.

"Um... Malia, can you try?" Scott asked Malia desperately.

"Why me?" She asked puzzled.

"I'm carrying Adri." He tells her and looked down at Adrianna who was currently sleeping.

"Okay. I'll do it. But first tell me what you've been hiding from me." Malia pressured them into telling her what they were hiding from her but the thing was they weren't just hiding from Malia but from Adrianna too.

"I know you think you're trying to protect me, but I can handle it." She tells them and then looked at Adrianna for a split second.

"And I'm pretty sure whatever you're hiding from her that she can handle it, too." Malia tells them talking about Adrianna while Kira just stared at the two boys in panic.

"I know I'm on the list." She sighed rolling her eyes at them.

"Yes..." Stiles trailed off while Scott made him be the one to talk to her instead of him.

"So how much?" She asked him.

"How much what?" Stiles asked, taken back.

"How much am I worth?" She asked him talking about the dead pool, wanting to know how much she was worth.

"Four million." Stiles sighed telling her as Malia looked down at the floor, processing this in her mind.

"Are you okay?" He asked and walked a tiny step forward.

"Yeah. Scott's worth 25, Kira, six. They'll take you guys out way before me. Adrianna's worth 10 but I won't let that happen. The others I don't really care." Malia says bluntly and it came out really rude causing Kira to look at her in surprise.

"That's progress. That's progress." Stiles whispered to them while Malia opened the vault with her claws and they all walked in.

10 minutes later Adrianna was sleeping still. Her head laying on Scott's lap while he played with her long beautiful chestnut colored hair.

"You know, this is where it all started. That's where the money was. 247 million in bearer bonds." Stiles whispered as he tried to warm up Malia who was sleeping too on his lap.

(an: yes, I did change the amount of money. Just to clear things up!)

How do you even change bearer bonds into cash?" Kira asked curiously while she stared at him.

"Bank, I guess. They just let it sit here the whole time collecting dust. You know bearer bonds are basically extinct?" Stiles answered her question but then asked them a question in response.

"Why does it matter?" The kitsune asked him again.

"You know how many problems that money could solve?" Stiles asked him thinking about it already.

"For you?"

"Me. My dad... The Eichen House and MRI bills are crushing him." Stiles whispered sadly.

"Mom does this thing, she writes down all the items in our budget, and how much they cost, then she adds them all up and figures out how long we have until... We lose the house." Scott commented and thought about what Adrianna had told him.

She told him that she would be happy to lend him money and help out Melissa with the house but he turned it down. He didn't want to seem that he was with her for her money.

Minutes later, Scott placed Adrianna next to Malia so that they were sleeping in each other's arms. And it seemed like Malia knew that Adrianna was beside her because she was being the big spoon like usual. She had her arm around her, her hand placed onto her stomach carefully. While, Kira was sitting next to them, admiring how adorable they were.

"Anything?" Stiles asked Scott who finished listening into the conversation from above them where the police and CDC people were at.

"They're looking for us. Someone's going to have to go out there." Scott tells him but then looked over at Malia.

"We need to tell her the truth about Peter. She's going to see the rest of the dead pool eventually." Scott whispered to his best friend quietly.

"Try to remember that Peter is the one name missing on that list. Which either makes him incredibly lucky with a benefactor, she finds out about him she's going to go to him, you know she is. And then he's going to twist his way into her head like he does with everyone. Including us. We let him walk around like nothing ever happened, like he's one of the good guys... Scott, he's not one of the good guys. If she finds out about him, she's gone. That's probably what he's waiting for and if he wins, we lose." Stiles tells his best friend sternly.

"We're already losing." Scott muttered and showed him his hand to see black blood coming out from his nails.

"Scott... Adrianna is going to flip when she finds out that she's not worth 10 million anymore but 50 million. Which is more then how much you're worth and you're a true alpha. The question now is what is she?" Stiles emphasized on the new amount that Adrianna is worth causing Scott to only stare at his girlfriend who looked like she couldn't even hurt a fly.

"Adrianna, you're just as sick as the rest of us. You don't have to go out there." Scott tried to persuade her to staying but once she heard about this she immediately volunteered to go with Stiles.

"Babe, I want to do this. I promise I'll be safe if you promise me to keep fighting." She tells him and held her pinky out causing him to grin at her cuteness and hooked his pinky with hers.

"I promise, princess."

Stiles and Adrianna both walked out as the door slowly closed shut. They held hands tightly causing Stiles to shoot her a small smile and they both soon went separate ways to find help or to avoid the CDC people to find them.

10 minutes later Adrianna sighed heavily as she held onto the gun that Agent McCall gave her in case of an emergency.

She had bumped into him minutes ago only to have him blabbering about how he needed to find Stiles that they should split up to find him. He wouldn't tell her why but she only did what she was told.

"Still a bit feverish, Mr. Stilinski. But you should know something, the virus doesn't kill humans, you'll get better. So don't you think you should tell me where they are? Shouldn't one of you get to live? Adrianna should definitely die though because I want that amount of money." Simon asked him.

"I think I saw them in the library. Or it might've been the cafeteria. It was definitely one of those two." Stiles stammered trying to get him out of the way but that wasn't happening anytime soon.

"I'm going to count to three, and then I'm going to kill you." Simon tells him with an amused voice as if killing him was going to bring a smile to his face.

"Think you can scare me?" Stiles asked him as he faced him so that the gun was pointing directly at his head.

"No, I think I can kill you. I just thought the countdown would make it more exciting. So... One... Two..." And a loud bang rang as blood was all over Stiles face but it wasn't his blood.

It was Simon's blood - he had a hold right through his head as he fell down onto the floor.

Adrianna was revealed behind him holding the gun in front of her as she just stared at the now dead Simon with no expression.

"Adri..." Stiles panted heavily and he didn't want to admit but he was terrified.

He ran over to Adrianna and pulled her in a tight hug because he wanted to thank her for saving him. He had also known that she was going to torment herself for her entire life now because she did just take a life away. Taking a person's life isn't an easy thing to do. Stiles knew how it felt.

"Hey, you okay?" He asked her as he pulled away from her and grabbed her cheeks making her look at him so that she wouldn't lie.

"I should be asking you that! You almost died." Adrianna stammered but before Stiles could reply to her, Agent McCall came in.

"Where the hell did you come from?" He asked the older man who wasn't disappointed in Adrianna for killing Simon because he had seen the whole thing.

"Stiles, listen. I got a call from Melissa. I don't know what it means. She said there's an antidote. It's in a vault, reishi mushrooms." Agent McCall started to tell Stiles.

"Wait, what in a vault?" Stiles asked wide eyed as he held onto Adrianna's waist.

"It's in a jar on one of the shelves. She said to tell Scott, it's in the vault." He tells him more sternly but still confused what that even meant.

Adrianna and Stiles both then bolted out of the locker room and ran towards where the vault was hidden at.

"Hey, Scott? Scotty? In the vault, in there with you. It's called reishi mushrooms. Scott? Scott, open the door! It's in there with you. It's in a jar, it's on one of the shelves. Scott! Scott, can you hear me?" Stiles yelled and kept banging on the door but there was no answer from the other side causing Stiles to slide to the floor.

"No, I'm not giv- ah!" Adrianna says angrily but the bent over in pain, her hand quickly went on top of her stomach.

"W-what's wrong? Is it the baby?" Stiles asked worriedly to her and quickly got up from the ground, over to her for assistance.

"It hur- oh my god!" Adrianna yelled in agony as tears streamed down her face from the pain.

That triggered Scott's power to come in - hearing Adrianna's cry and screams of pain. He flashed his red eyes and found the jar. He had a hard time to get to it but he managed to do it with the screams coming from Adrianna's mouth ringing in his ears.

Stiles was usually in situations like this and he was always scared but this time... he was completely terrified for the life of his best friend.

The door opened only to reveal Scott with red eyes and he grabbed onto his girlfriend, pulling her into the hale vault to inhale the reishi mushrooms.

When she did the pain had stopped. She panted heavily and hugged onto Scott tightly.

"I'm here now." Scott whispered into her ear and then kissed her forehead.

"Malia?" Stiles called his girlfriend's name only to have her walk away from him but stopped in front of Adrianna, handing her the piece of paper when Scott and her pulled away from each other.

Scott stared at her in a scared expression. He didn't want her to find out about it but it was to late.

Malia glared at Scott before walking out of the hale vault completely.

"Scott..." Adrianna says shakily as she stared at the paper with shaky hands.

"Why... Why am I worth this much?" Adrianna asked him as she kept staring at the paper to see a familiar name on there.

"No, no, no, no." Adrianna cried and her hand covered her mouth as she stared at the paper.

"Who's he?" Scott asked softly.

"The father of the baby." Adrianna says softly and started to stare at the name even more.

an: dun dun dun dun!!!!! Haha ya'll thought it was Aiden huh? 😉💕 That was my plan at first but I started to think about it and I was like nah! Don't want that to be depressing for Adrianna when she finds out he's dead. So, Michael Lawrence eh?
