Maya and Ryan hung out a lot more now. It's been another two weeks and there was tension between the two.
Ryan had been trying to help Ellie with her memory, but she seemed to be getting more and more frustrated.
Maya felt bad for her, but she knew that Ryan was starting to open up more with her feelings for Maya.
Maya walked around the workplace, bored and looking for something to do. Of course she was a patrol cop when not on SWAT duty, but they'd had a meeting today.
"What're you doing?" Leah asked, coming behind her and scaring her.
"Nothing, just bored." She nodded and checked Maya out.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go out sometime?" Maya pursed her lips, not really wanting to. She was so close to getting Ryan and she didn't want to mess it up.
"No, actually... I think I'm better off single for now." She turned her head, feeling awkward and her eyes almost popped out of her head at what she saw. Ryan was walking towards her, what the hell was she doing here? At Maya's job?
"Hey Maya, have you seen my mom?" Maya raised her eyebrows, then mentally facepalmed. She'd forgotten about Mrs. Walker that quickly.
"Uh, yeah you're in the wrong department." Leah stared at Ryan and Maya frowned. She didn't like anyone checking out Ryan, that was a huge no. "Leah, this is Ryan, Detective Walker's daughter. Ryan this is Leah." Leah smiled and hugged Ryan. Ryan smirked at Maya and she frowned.
"Nice to meet you." Leah told her.
"You too."
"I'm going to take her to her mom now." Maya told her, giving her a small smile. She pulled Ryan along, thinking about things. She pulled Ryan to the side, in the hall. "Were you flirting with her?" Maya asked Ryan.
"No, the smirk was just me messing with you. That's your ex huh?" Maya nodded. "She's not my type." Ryan looked at Maya and brushed her hand against hers before looking around. "I do need to see Mom, but I came this way on purpose." Maya laughed and led her to the other side of the office.
"How's Ellie doing?"
"She's healing well. Still hasn't remembered a damn thing. I've tried to get her to. She just pushes away, still telling me she isn't gay."
"Don't give up Ryan." Although Maya really really liked her, she still wanted her to be happy. That was what was important.
"Thanks for the support Maya. Can I come over later?" Maya smiled and nodded.
"Anytime. To both of those." Ryan laughed and stared at her before going into her mother's office. Maya sighed and walked back to her side of the building.
"So, Detective Walker's daughter. She's hot." Leah said, coming up to Maya. Maya knew if she got defensive, it'd seem weird. Maya shrugged.
"She's eighteen."
"We both know that's legal." Leah told her, rolling her eyes.
"So do you just go for anybody you see?" Leah frowned at her. "You were just trying to be with me and now you want to have sex with her?"
"Don't get jealous! I asked if you wanted to go out and we almost had sex, but you stopped it!" Maya stared at her and smirked.
"I'm never jealous of anyone who wants you. I've been over you since you dumped me. But can you say the same?" Leah stood there for a few seconds before stomping away.
"I feel like you live to piss her off." Israel said, walking by.
"Says you." She told him and he laughed, shrugging.
"True." She felt a hand touch her side and she turned around. Ryan stood there smiling widely at her.
"You seem happier." Ryan nodded.
"Yeah, I was having a dilemma, so I left school to come talk to mom. And now, I need to talk to you. Here or at yours?" Maya started up at her. She didn't want Ryan to leave, but she was worried about the "professionalism" of the whole thing. She looked around and pulled Ryan into the empty closet down the hall.
"Okay, what is it?" Ryan took a deep breath and leaned down to kiss Maya. Her eyes widened, but closed as soon as their lips touched.
Wow, she'd missed that. She pulled Ryan closer, the kiss was so desperate, she could tell Ryan had missed it too. Ryan held her tightly, making her feel so good. She sighed into the kiss, well, it was probably closer to a moan. Ryan pulled back and Maya stepped closer, trying to go in for more.
She succeeded and Ryan held Maya against the filing cabinet. Her hands touched Maya's exposed skin, creating a shudder down her body. Maya pulled back and kissed Ryan's neck, making her moan. She stopped right there and looked up at Ryan. Her eyes were closed then she opened them and stared at Maya.
"About time you kissed me." Maya told her. Ryan laughed breathlessly.
"I shouldn't have waited that long." She mumbled. "I really like you Maya. I've liked you since those first dates and even while with Ellie and... it just never left, it kept growing. Can we date again?"
"I'd love to." Maya grinned widely and hugged her.
"Tonight. I'll figure something out."
"And if not, we can just sit out on the balcony at my house." Ryan nodded.
"That sounds great. I should probably get back to school, they always have me on this strict watch. My freaking uncle doesn't help one bit either, I hope mom called him." Maya laughed and took Ryan's hands in hers.
"Okay Ry, I can't wait for tonight." She leaned up and kissed Ryan. Quickly this time, so she could leave.
"Me either Maya. I'll see you then." Ryan squeezed Maya's hand and left. Maya sighed and leaned against the filing cabinet. She'd been waiting for that... and it felt amazing. She wondered if they were on the same terms as last time. Would they just be with each other?
She didn't expect Ryan to not visit Ellie. But at this point, Ellie probably wouldn't remember. It was very possible either way if Maya was being honest to herself.
She shrugged it off. She shouldn't be worrying about that. She left the empty closet and went to her office. Detective Walker stood there, looking around. When she locked eyes with Maya she smiled.
"Hey Maya, you seem happy." Maya laughed.
"Yeah, I'm guessing that's what she came to talk to you about?" She nodded. "I'm glad she's started to talk to you again."
"Thanks to you. I'm glad you talked some sense into her. I love her so much, I can't lose her." Maya nodded, she'd expect so.
"I know, Mrs. Walker. She knows it too." She sighed and hugged Maya.
"Well, you two have fun tonight. I'll see you around." She left Maya standing there, with a huge smile across her face.
Later, Ryan texted her and she looked down at it.
Goodness I just got here and I already have detention fuck this.
What'd you do this time?
Your brother and I were talking about that vein in the side of your dad's head and I laughed too loudly. Maya laughed too, thinking of the vein. She wondered how Ryan saw it, because her father never got angry with guests around. Zion had to have really pissed him off.
Do you ever not get detention?
I didn't have it two days ago. Before you say it was a Sunday, I've had detention on Sunday before because of my uncle. Maya laughed and shook her head.
"Who're you texting that's making you smile like that?" Benjamin asked her.
"She's just a friend." Ben rolled his eyes. They were best friends, but he hadn't talked to her or hung out with her for a while. In his defense, he and his boyfriend just adopted. He'd been busy, and she was okay with that.
"I know we haven't hung out in forever, but you're still my little sister. I know that look in your eye and you really like her. You almost love her. Ooo, spill the tea baby!" Maya laughed and pushed him.
"Shut up. I do really like her but it's not a big deal like that. So don't go around saying anything about it. It's bad enough Leah's still trying to get with me. And she had the nerve to call my girl hot today." Benjamin raised his eyebrows.
"My girl. You thought I missed that huh? How the hell did she see her?"
"She's Detective Walker's daughter, who's also eighteen."
"Scandalous!" Ben said and she frowned. He laughed sheepishly. "Okay, I'm done being dramatic I promise. John's been rubbing off on me, he's got me watching drag. I know I'm not the all masculine Benny anymore." He said, wiping his fake tears.
"You seem happier though, and I think that's great Ben." He smiled and patted her head.
"Me too, now more about your girlfriend." Maya's face heated up.
"She's not my girlfriend, we're dating. But she's really sweet and funny. She's thoughtful and she's hot too." Ben smiled.
"I'm so happy for you!" She shrugged.
"Thank you, but nothing's happened yet." He rolled his eyes.
"Oh, but it will. I'm waiting for you to call me and tell me how good she is in bed." Maya heated up, thinking about it, but she frowned.
"Stop!" She shook her head, trying to get that out of her head, but she couldn't. She sighed, why must people do these things to her?
~
There were three knocks on Maya's door and she ran to open it.
"Hey Ryan." She said, smiling widely.
"Woah Maya, you look amazing. I've never seen you wear makeup and, your hair is just wonderful. I'm... wow. Just... wow." Maya shrugged. She had put on lipstick, but that was it. She wasn't such a makeup girl. As for her hair, she did as Ryan had once suggested and let it do what it wanted to.
"Thank you. You look cute too." Ryan smiled and kissed her cheek.
"I was thinking, there's this play downtown. You really like the arts, I kinda like the arts, it'd be nice." They laughed.
"We don't have to go, if you don't like that sort of thing."
"I said kinda, that's enough. Besides, as long as you like it, I'll be fine. And, I'm paying. So come on. Please?" Maya raised her eyebrows, surprised Ryan would pay.
"I can pay for it." Ryan looked at her for a bit, contemplating.
"Are you sure? It won't like... take away from the date or make me seem cheap? I mean, I chose the place."
"Ryan you are cheap, but I still like you." She grinned and nodded.
"Well, great. Let's go." Ryan took her hand and they walked down the stairs and out of the building. "I was only going to pay because the tickets are three dollars." Maya laughed loudly, and so did Ryan.
"I'm only worth three dollars?" Ryan laughed and shook her head.
"No, six dollars because I have to pay for me to get in too, otherwise you'd be alone." They laughed again and Ryan handed her a helmet for the motorcycle. "You're worth it." She kissed Maya gently. "That's so I don't mess up your lipstick." She winked and Maya blushed and pulled the helmet onto her head.
"You're sweet Ryan." She said, climbing on the bike and wrapping her arms around Ryan.
"Duh." She said, starting up the bike and leaving. Maya sighed and laid her head on Ryan's back. She was tired, but she'd rather hang out with Ryan over sleep right now.
Maya had never been like this with anyone. Sure, she'd had girlfriends, but it'd never been like this. She never wanted to say sweet things to them or hear sweet things back. Her relationships were usually focused on sex, not their feelings for each other.
She felt them stop and saw that it was a stoplight. She felt Ryan's hand grab hers and squeeze it. She smiled and squeezed Ryan's hand too. She sat up and Ryan turned and looked at her. She couldn't see her expression through the helmet, but she guessed she was smiling.
The light turned green and Ryan sped off. Maya looked around, enjoying the view. It was beginning to turn dark and Ryan had drove past downtown. She stopped at the pier and got off. They took off their helmets and Ryan pulled Maya by her waist.
"Since we both like the outdoors, I just thought it'd be nice to see the sunset. We've still got thirty minutes before the production starts." Maya leaned into her.
"Thoughtful." Ryan looked at her and laughed.
"I guess, if you say so. I'm sure you've seen the sunset before."
"I have, but it's nice to see it with you." Ryan smiled widely and kissed her forehead. She looked up at Ryan and sighed. "You're really a beautiful sight Ryan." Ryan looked at her surprised, her cheeks a little red.
"Thank you." She mumbled, trying not to smile. "I tried, I put extra makeup on tonight, just for you." Maya laughed and rolled her eyes.
"I'm oh so lucky." Maya told her, making them both laugh. The sun set and Ryan turned to Maya.
"We should get to the theater." Maya nodded and they got back on the bike. The night had already started out great, Maya knew it could only get better.
They made it inside of the theater, Maya laughing at Ryan's jokes about the bike giving her a wedgie. They sat down and began watching the play. Ryan held Maya's hand as she laughed through the first part of the show. She heard Ryan laughing too and after a while, she didn't hear it anymore.
She looked and saw Ryan asleep, her head almost falling on the man by her. She picked her head up and began watching the show again. She laughed a little and her eyes began to shut again, this time, her head almost falling on Maya. Maya laughed a little and Ryan's head shot up and her eyes widened. She stared at the stage, and then looked at Maya, who turned her head quickly to the stage.
When Maya was sure Ryan wasn't looking anymore, she turned to look at her to see her head laying on the old man. He looked at her with his eyes wide and Maya snickered. Ryan picked her head up and her eyes closed again. She opened them once more and locked eyes with Maya.
"Seems like someone is tired." Ryan laughed and stretched.
"I'm fine." Maya rolled her eyes.
"You can lay your head on my shoulder and sleep." Ryan shook her head.
"I'll be okay." Maya nodded, but within five minutes, Ryan was asleep on her shoulder. She laughed a little and watched the show. During intermission, they stood and walked to the bathroom.
"We can go back to mine." Maya suggested. She wasn't angry, and she didn't mind leaving. She thought it was cute how Ryan was falling asleep.
"I'm sorry I kept falling asleep. We can go back and watch the rest and I promise I won't fall asleep again." Maya shook her head.
"No, Ryan I'm serious. It's fine. It was more interesting to watch you fall asleep than watch the play." Ryan laughed.
"Okay, let's go then." They walked to Ryan's bike and put their helmets on. "Just to be clear, I didn't ruin this date, did I?" Maya laughed and shook her head.
"No, the play was pretty bad." Ryan nodded.
"Great." They got on the bike and left. Although the play was horrible, and she was bored most of the time, Ryan still managed to make her have somewhat of a good time. She laid on her back again, sighing comfortably.
They arrived at Maya's house and Ryan plopped down on the couch.
"You won't fall asleep on me, will you?" She laughed.
"No, I won't. The play was a bit boring and I was tired but I actually think I'm fully awake now." Maya nodded and sat beside her, turning on the tv.
"Why were you so tired?"
"I was up all night, thinking. I know you're going to ask what about. So, just thinking about I wanted... thinking about what I hoped you'd want." Maya raised her eyebrows, surprised. So Ryan had been thinking a lot about her. Good because she was thinking a lot about her too.
"Which is?" Maya asked, teasing her.
"You know what I'm talking about. I knew you liked me, I just... wondered if there was someone else or if I was enough. Being an eighteen year old dating someone of your age and... your beauty is intimidating. I just wanted to make sure it was the right thing to do." Maya softly grazed her lips against Ryan's.
"Well, it was the right thing to do. And you're exactly what I want Ryan." Ryan smiled and kissed her back, excitedly. She pushed Maya back, into the arm of the couch, holding her tightly. Ryan kissed down her neck, nibbling towards her upper chest, where her shirt stopped. Her mind exploded and she unbuttoned Ryan's shirt.
Ryan's hands still never left her waist.
"Touch me Ryan." Ryan pulled back and stared her in her eyes before pulling off Maya's shirt. She looked down and her hands went down Maya's body.
"Good God." She muttered hungrily. Maya sighed and Ryan began kissing around her bra.
Her body really wanted Ryan.
*This next chapter I will actually write a sex scene for the FIRST time. It's gonna be bad, but good I guess haha. Everyone wanted it so...*
